The way broad is hitting and slogging now is how England should have batted in this whole series. There has been no sort of pressure on the bowling side at all

Difference in this series has been the difference in approach by both the teams

thats it. Johson bowls boyd to wrap up england and australia lead by 171

Out of the carnage of this tour, England have found a very good Hobbit all rounder. Can bat top 6, bowl 140's, make runs, take wickets and give a bit of fight. Very useful player to have in your side for balance. Ballance on the other hand is a hack.

Do not see any chance for Poms any more , the lead is just already huge. Even if they get Aussies for 100 here , that will still be out of hands for them

poms bowlers have final chance in Ashes this year , can they do something special ?

Ken: "They just said on that if England are dismissed in the 2nd innings it will be the first time a team has lost 100 wickets in a series." In an Ashes series, yes, that's correct. Not sure about where it stands overall. Will need to dig around

Rankin sure has an intimidating presence. He has a physique of a tank.

Would love to see kohli and pujara vs johnson and harris later this year in australia.
Johnson and harris I predict will get the better of them most times, but I do except kohli and pujara to fightback as well.

:four

Good thing about Smith is he is always positive , he gets the runs , does not get bogged down

Should be able to push the lead to 400 before they get bowled out. England's abysmal performance with the bat has masked the fact that our batsmen aren't that much better really. Just one or two players stepping up for us each time.

Yeah, he's plainly on the Tookish side. The one ray of sunshine on this horrible tour, other than the odd burst from Draco. I'd hoped for a bit more from Bairstow, but he's technically flawed.

I wonder what Mitch can achieve, now that DK and Boof have got his action and his head right? DK calls him a once-in-a-generation player. He'll be tearing up trees for a couple of years, with the world-class Rhino at the other end and Sid in support.

Rankin is back again? Good to see. Can't keep an Irish down I guess. :yk

He had cramp.

Anyway, I don't think he's test standard. Looks trundly. They should have picked Finn who we know can get test batters out and can rev up to 90 mph.

Stokes is the only positive England can take from this 5-0 drubbing.

Has a tight batting technique, handy bowler and seems to reserve his best under pressure situations.

England made a big blunder by not playing Finn at all. He is tall and fast would have been very handy in them bouncy wickets

The problem with Finn is he leaks runs to much, Even in the warm ups hes bin getting
Hammered

As has Rankin.

On the other hand, Finn is 8 mph faster and also takes wickets.

But they had nothing to lose after getting mauled going safe and secure with mediocre trundlers like Bresnan and the tank. Finn might have been thrashed but he could have been successful too. You won't win unless you take chances.
