Indians will claim some virtue of it that they are fighting in spite of these injuries, not questioning why their players are so injury prone and jeopardise the team.

lock down will cause many injuries for touring team

It takes a real low life to think broken fingers and bruised arms are because of any short comings

Shocking. But this is the real test of team bench strength, resilience and passion for the test match.

India injured ( or paternity leave) team X1 on the sideline is much stronger than the playing X1. But Rahane and team have proven to be real men and not spoilt T-20 superstar sissies.

Ganna will be fun.

How is having 8 players now injured ,testing bench strength??

How come the indian players are falling to injury like a pack of cards, but the australian players are not. Aren't they playing the same series? Raises questions about the fitness of indian players who look like eager to catch the first flight back to home. But to be fair, only the tough can survive a series in australia.

Why weren't the likes of Prasidh Krishna called as cover? This is the whole Siraj business again who was not played when he was in red hot form in 2018 and Thakur was played instead. Do we have a bowling attack left?

Kuldeep, Siraj, Saini, Natarajan, Thakur.

It'll be so hard now for India to take 20 wickets if Bumrah and Ashwin are both out. An anti-climactic end to the series beckons.

No, no one is claiming any virtue. But no one is giving any excuse either for losing a match. Fight like a man, fight with what you have.

Pakistan was shell shocked when one batsman got injured and promptly lost both test matches.

Kuldeep, Siraj, Saini, Natarajan, Thakur.

Natarajan, Thakur and Kuldeep will all get smashed to pieces. We were better off had they called Avesh, Prasidh, Shivam mavi and another domestic finger spinner. Congratulations in advance to Aussies. What a sad end to a great series.

Australian opener Will Pucovski

Australian opener Will Pucovski suffered a shoulder subluxation injury while diving in the field on day five of the third Vodafone Test at the SCG yesterday.

He will continue rest and rehabilitation over the next two days before a decision is made on his fitness for the fourth Vodafone Test match.

No additional players have been brought into the squad for the final match.

Indian players fit for the Gabba Test:

-Rohit Sharma.
-Shubman Gill.
-Pujara.
-Ajinkya Rahane.
-Rishabh Pant.
-Saha.
-Prithvi Shaw.
-Ravi Ashwin.
-Navdeep Saini.
-Mohammad Siraj.
-Shardul Thakur.
-T Natarajan.
-Kuldeep Yadav.

•Mayank Agarwal's scans reports awaited.

Nikhil_cric What makes you think shivam Mavi will not be smashed

He is less likely to get smashed than Natarajan and shardul Thakur. He has pace, decent control over his length etc. Natarajan is not test class and never will be and it would be unfair to play him in a format in which hes not particularly good. His own coach doesnt think hes that good. Thakur is a garbage bowler all round.

By the way I would still prefer avesh or prasidh as replacements . Mavi is the last option.

So India have Siraj, Saini, Shardul & Natarajan to pick from - a experience of four Tests bw them.

The last time India fielded a pace attack (3+ seamers) with fewer exp was vs England in Mohali, 2001/02 - Tinu Yohannan, Iqbal Siddiqui & Sanjay Bangar, all making their debut.

:yk2

Apparently pointing out that we have injuries is claiming virtue out of injuries.

How are these morons even allowed to lead a normal life? Cartoon is the right way to describe the poster.

This is a valid question.

Some are talking about it.

But it's also been that series where we are facing ill luck pro max ultra 10T. lol.

If it's the traditional GABBA pace and bounce then India have no hope, weather permitting it will be over in 4 days

Questions have to be raised regarding the fitness of the Indian seamers whilst their counterparts are all gut and firing

Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

The hell man.......................

This is crazy.

I think in the 4th test we might see Shastri bringing drinks to the ground during drinks break :))
On a serious note I'm hoping Brisbane gets washed out. This team doesn't deserve to lose the series for the heart they've shown.

As ironical as it may seem...this might be our best shot if we have a decent 11.

It's the flat tracks where we can't win.

Either we will win in gabba or sink without a trace.

At this point, I would prefer gabba to be AS SPICY as possible.

Our line-up can be:

Agarwal
Gill
Pujara
Rahane (c)
Pant
Rohit
Saha (wk)

I can't even make #8 to #11 because I don't know who is the 'best' batsman among Natarajan, Saini, Siraj and Kuldeep. :91:

Yeah part of me wants it to be drawn.

Another part wants us to play and fight it out.

If we lose, we won't lose anything.

But if we win......man o man.......the celebrations and bragging rights would be SOMETHING ELSE.

So I am hoping Gabba is on.

I would say kuldeep is clearly the best of the lot batting wise.
Not sure about the rest though

I just don't see us taking 20 wickets with that attack. Extreme lack of experience and probably lack of ability as well.

Maybe we can send all of them in together.

Would get us 10 minutes.

According to TOI - Washington Sundar might make his Test debut at Gabba by replacing injured Ravi Jadeja.

This is Ravi Shastri's time to come out of retirement and play the decider test match for his team.

How it will be ravi shastri come out of his retirement and score match winning hundread and seal the series for india :genius

He can single-handedly turn things around for us in the final test. Remember, he has the experience to do it- 1985, world championship in Australia! :inti

Even Gavaskar is commentating. Bring him out.

And a handy Indian allrounder from any Aussie club's 1st XI. Should do the trick.

Playing Rishab only as a batsman is a poor selection. India desperately need a wicket keeper batsman after MSD. Yes he needs to improve his keeping. Back him as a keeper batsman, Let him go through it.

We're talking only about the next test, after looking at our casualty list. If we don't play Saha, who is going to bat at #7?

"Four additional bowlers - Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Kartik Tyagi, Ishan Porel and T. Natarajan - will travel with the Indian contingent." BCCI while announcing the test teams.

Apart from Natarajan, rest 3 are better options than Shradul who is in the team under Management/Mumbai Quota it seems 🤦

Nagarkoti and porel didn't travel with team. Kamlesh was told to report to NCA to manage his workload. Porel was injured and has sinse recovered. Won the t20 opener for Bengal. Tyagi is greener than grass.

Natarajan is only one available with decent 1st class experience and record.

The playing eleven should be:
1.Gill
2.Rohit
3.Pujara
4.Rahane
5.Shaw
6.Pant
7. Ashwin
8.Thakur/Natarajan
9.Kuldeep
10.Saini
11.Siraj

Oh, I am afraid Shradul is in then 😭

We have to play with 5 bowler knowing anyone can injured himself during the Test match . I'll play Washington Sundar because of his Height ,he can generate extra bounce on Gabba surface also handy with the bat .

Gill
Rohit
Pujara
Rahane
Mayank ( if he not fit than Shaw )
Pant
Ashwin( if He not fit than Kuldeep)
Sundar
Saini
Siraj
Natrajan/thakur

No matter what Shastri getting trolls.

I found this on Twitter

Virat Kohli - Daughter
Rohit - Daughter
Dhoni - Daughter
Ashwin - Daughter
Ganguly - Daughter
Sachin - Daughter
Ravi Shastri - Quarter

Seems to be getting a little ridiculous. How come IND are pulling up with so many injuries?

AUS pacers have more or less bowled alongside Lyon for the majority of the series. Green does not seem to have bowled that much - AUS do not really have much of an all-rounder these days anyway and prefer a four-pronged attack.

I know PAK did not bowl as many overs against ENG (across ~2 completed Tests) but that was a series after some gap and then again in NZD where we bowled a reasonable amount after some gap. The same trio of pacers and 1 spinner has played (barring the second Test against NZD where Yasir was dropped for performance).

Overall IND has a reputation for having one of the fittest set of athletes, especially post-2010 so this is quite intriguing.

Latest: Mayank Agarwal injured now.

His hand.

A big 200 from somebody in our first innings should hopefully override the injuries and take the loss out of the equation.

One of Gill/Rohit/Pujara/Rahane/Pant has to fire.

Time injury rules are looked at specially in covid times

Test squads should be 20 strong atleast for touring party as there is no time to call a replacement.

Also if a player is out injured by a physical injury(hit by ball, collision etc),the replacement should be like a concussion sub.Not sure why concussion is treated differently from other serious injuries

200? I'd take a team total of 350

Gabba isnt batting friendly

My team

Gill
Rohit
Pujara
Rahane
Pant
Shaw
Ashwin
Kuldeep
Saini
Siraj
Tyagi

If Ashwin can't make it ,then play extra batsman

One word IPL

I get that, but I thought some of these guys do not feature in the IPL... do Ishant, Ashwin, Shami still play it? In fact I thought the likes of Cummins and Starc played it?

Admittedly I do not follow T20s or T20Is so my knowledge of IPL/PSL is fairly limited.

This guy is cartoon. But it is good to see that his second coming has helped IND overall.

Not sure how many people on PP are old enough / have good enough memories to remember how much Jadeja used to get trolled (Sir Jadeja stuff etc), Rohit Sharma batting would make the hashtag “Nohit Sharma” trend on twitter for the first 6-7 years of his career and how Ishant coming into the attack was the same as open floodgates to relieve pressure.

IND has done well to stick to a good number of them.

Dhoni backed them to the hilt

The one trait Kohli lacks, backing players when they are under the pump

Yes they all played infact Ishant got injured during IPL.

Apart from Vihari all the players who got injured played IPL.

Shami,Pant and Jadeja got hit.Not fitness related injuries

Ishant played 1 IPL

Pujara didn't play IPL and has a finger injury

Gill,Siraj Saini played IPL and are fit

Correlation isn't causation
