And Kohli gives it away. Again. Top knock tho. Great to watch.

Indian batsmen these days think their test ceiling is 110 and not a run more.

Late wicket much needed by the Aussies.

Well played to India today. Pitch isn't a tough one but you still need to bat well and they did. Never easy away from home.

Now Johnson looks nasty!

Get a lead of 100 and then put 250 runs. Wicket will get a lot more difficult to bat in the last inning.

Jonno just needs to forget about hitting Kohli on the head and just keep banging them in short. He's much better when he is aggressive

Kohli has seriously under achieved in test cricket. Maybe the captaincy is what he needs to focus him.

For someone of his ability you would expect more than 7 centuries or whatever it is and an average under 40 and a top score of 119. He's sort of like Smith till this year - he would lose concentration after getting his ton.

India can still get a lead here me thinks. Draw most likely I reckon but could get real interesting next couple of days tho.

Indians have a long tail here. One wicket and tail will be then blown away by Johnson. Indians will have to bat extremely well to take a lead here. If they can bat another 30-35 overs then they will get close to safety but still Warner and Co. can add quick run and have a second go at Indians.

One more wicket here and Aus can be somewhat happy with the day's play.

Even if he didn't make a big score, at least he led from the front with the bat unlike our usual test skipper.

Easier said than done. Kohli's stupidity has made a hash of otherwise a convincing day.
Rahane, Pujara, Dhawan and now Kohli.. The dismissals could have been avoided.

Aus won't be too unhappy here. 150 runs still to play and Indians have a long tail. If Aus can pick up next wicket quickly, I don't expect tail to survive Johnson.

Saha did well. India in a decent position I would say. Aus wasted the second new ball.

Just need to break this partnership tomorrow morning and we may roll them for below 400.

To be honest, neither will be indian, barring kohli dismissal, even if these two add 50 run and last 4 adds 50 runs?,we will take it.

Jonno was just getting into his groove after a terrible first couple of spells, he set up Vijay really well. Then he hit Kohli on the head and went into his shell

He needs Clarke to talk to him and tell him it's ok if people get hit, it happens.

Pretty fair assessment.

I don't think India can win from here. but if they play well they can still make a few big statements.

If India fold tomorrow and give up a lead of 100 or so then they could be in trouble. Batting last on Adelaide is usually very, very tricky- you can realistically have a good shot at bowling a team out in 70 overs or so.

Nope. Advantage Australia. If Australia can get us below 400 tomorrow morning, they will bat till tea and will roll us out for 200 in the 4th innings.
Tere moonh main keeday tere moonh main dhoom.

Quality stuff by Indian batsmen. Thats what I said yesterday that everyone was underestimating Indian batting.

India will miss Bhuvi and Ashwin here.

Karn Sharma needs to get some runs to justify his place in the side.

We would be lucky to reach 450 I think. I don't trust Rohit at all. Saha might have better temperament but then he has to little ability

Rohit and Saha partnership will be crucial. If we concede a lead of >100, we'll be in trouble. Hopefully we can get to 450+

That's cos he played 3 tests in Australia where we got owned badly (in Perth Vinayji played).

Our team was completely outplayed. Pacers did nothing. Batsmen scored nothing.

Still took a bunch of wickets but average went for cleaners.

Jaddu played in an Indian team which competed overseas (against SA, NZ and even England...2 out of the 3 tests in England where we didn't compete, Jaddu didn't play).

General opinion here and elsewhere after the test series was that Ashwin did better than Jaddu in England (in tests). ODIs are different.

Wrong.Jaddu didnt get any support in Durban. Was poor in NZ but those pitches were so bad that even their home spinner couldnt take a single wicket. In England he did well in 4 out of 6 innings

And wrong to say Ashwin played when we didnt compete. We competed well in MCG(first Test). In Adelaide the ball was turning but he couldnt do much in either innings.Again in JoBurg we competed well but he couldn't take single wicket in either innings

What happens if Saha scores a 100? Dropped when dhoni is back?

This must be the flattest deck in the world EVER ! The Indian ftbs are like fish in the water. :uakmal

FTB Kohli's inability to go for big scores was seen yet again, that too on the flattest deck in the world. :srt

Its good that :sirini is watching over these ftbs.

Your tears have magical qualities. Keep 'em coming :D

Rohit is crucial to tomorrow. He may appear lackadaisical and shaky but if he scores a 75 and gets the trail to a manageable level before getting out, a draw is assured.

If saha scores runs dhawan will be dropped, pujara will open, dhoni will come in as a specialist batsman & captain & saha will keep wickets.

Joberg was his mistake (first innings he bowled only 6 overs yaar - SA were all out fast).

But if you saw we competed in Aus, I have nothing else to say.

Can't see anyone else agreeing to that.

Jaddu got a spin track so he got wickets.

If he got more support, his stats in Durban would have been better.

But in non spin track, a spinner needs support from pacers.

We did in first Test there and JoBurg.that's all I mentioned.

Overall Ashwin was poor in Australia no matter what we present the stats. That I will not deny.

But he has a good chance to improve which he showed in England.

Vijay has impressed this year, hasn't he?

For a side losing two settled openers in Sehwag and Gambhir it's very easy to start off every innings on a bad note with the newbie openers being dismissed cheaply but a 32-year old Vijay has proven the perfect antidote.

I still don't rate Dhawan though.

It helped spin a bit but it wasn't like it was a square turner.SA spinner couldn't do anything in first innings and even in 2nd his wickets were batsmen throwing it away

Even Adelaide offered turn the last time.I remember Ashwin getting a wicket on a ball which disturbed the surface quite a bit but he wasn't consistent so couldn't do much

good to see kohli back but he got out in the wrong time should have stayed there for atleast 20 overs more to make it easier for india to save the test match india still can lose this match need to bat another 30-35 overs atleast which not gonna be easy and no ashwin bhuvi

The average 3rd innings score on this ground is lower than average 4th innings score i think..interesting thing we have a chance to lose.Tomorrow MJ and Harris will rip through our tail.

Yes vijay has been impressive but conversion is still a big problem . If he doesnt convert starts into big runs he'll go the S. Ramesh way.

just having guts feeling if rohit sharma stayed there for sum time den he is gonna crush dem.

Scored a 140+ in England and a 95 at Lord's right after, in addition to tons against Australia at home - he's not too bad at all.

Either that or do something absolutely stupid after cruising to 47, and then expose the tail.

That one innings is still haunting him. But Joburg is traditionally a graveyard for spinners. Not fair to judge him based on that one performance and he did not bowl much in the first innings. Ashwin is a genuine spinner (who could finish with 400 test wickets) compared to Jaddu, who is essentially a bits and pieces player.

It may be a flat wicket but a good start for Indians in Australia.By the way Flattest wickets in the world are those in Srilanka where FTB's like Mahela score all of his hundreds and pretends to be a world beater
