No we haven't. Why would we give India a chance of going 1-0 up with Brisbane up next?

We are not going to go 1-0 up, your lead is already past anything we can surpass. However, the test might end up 0-0 if we can bat out the draw.

What happened? I'm not watching.

rohit appealed, smith said you have got to be kidding me. Kohli came upto to smith and got in his face, que warner coming up as well and then pujara joined in. Umpires continuously in between batsmen and fielders.

Haha, sounds delicious!

Aussie players knowling well that indians are next up for batting are trying their best to keep the tempers of indians up..

Steve smith said something Rohit after his appeal. kohli came up to Smith and Warner came in between both of them and told kohli to chill. Smith and Kohli are going at each other. Smith looks like he is trolling the Indians. Australians have always trolled every team only Indian players fall for it every time.

I'd back this Indian line-up to chase down 300 in 60-70 overs than to tuk tuk for an entire day. Most of these bats are at their best when playing attacking cricket.

Still better than Dhoni who is a silent elephant and will do nothing.

Starting to look like a Pakistan game thread. Posters need to get it through their heads that in Test cricket, you can't just decide what run rate you will score at. The pitch is getting worse and worse for batting, y'all are posting like its batting on day 1.

Half the people got no idea how cricket works, illegal bowling works and etc. I wonder how many of them actually held a hard cricket ball.

Not a chance, we'll be bundled out for 154/10 with Lyon taking another 5-fer.

LBW appeal off Rohit
Smithers: I'm half way down the pitch mate
Rohit: WHAT WHAAT :))
They exchange a few pleasantries
Then Kohli joins in
I think Smithers tells him to shut up lol
Kohli: Don't tell me to shut up. WHAT WHAAT
Warner jumps in and goes COME OON!
The End.

We can attack well but we are mentally weak in Test cricket these days.

A few wickets and we will lose the match and after that you know what will happen in the next 3 matches.

Better to be solid in the middle and take things as they come.

Our only solid batsmen are Vijay, Pujara, Kohli and Rahane.

And even they have never made a really big score or batted long periods in their whole careers, bar Pujara once vs England.

This is going to be one uphill climb.

India bowling very well. Warner outta here! Top knock.

Any one saw the top 2014 run scorers list on ch9? Who the heck is Jayantha Silva from SL? :))

Aus won't be declaring today. Their bowlers are still in training gear sitting near the fence :))

Australia's premier allrounder teaching Watto how to bat for the team

Stepping it up now, can't rule out an overnight declaration like in the first innings.

Our bowling "attack": Sharma, Sharma, Shami, Sharma.

This is the reason AUstralia is any neutral's team. No other team on the planet plays this brand of Cricket so consistently.

Looks like Kohli too went for containment than wickets ala Dhoni Disappointing

They were always gonna attack if you allow them to preserve their wickets

Good to see Pieces with 40 off 26 balls at a SR of 153 when we are trying to set a target while Bits had 33 with a SR of 37. Pieces should bat at 3 and put Bits at 6.

You're starting to sound like the Channel 9 commentators.

Lead by 350. I'd say they have enough.

If they continue batting now it's for their own detriment.

Looks like Australia will be a little extra careful about declaring against this Indian team.

Looking at the way the wicket is playing Aus may well bat a few overs tomorrow.

So Aus end the day with a 363 run lead. Prolly 20 or so runs less than what they would have liked.

Knowing how Clarke works- bat for an over and then declare just to be annoying

:))

Why not I say. Slog a few overs. Make them run ragged. Then put them in. Will lose a couple of overs but hey it's worth it I reckon.

Good clever tactic by indian wasting 7 overs due to poor over rate, this can be the difference in loss or draw for india.

Against England he waited till the last possible second before declaring in the morning, the England players were getting ready to go out and field when he walked to the rooms himself and told them he was declaring. Cook and Carberry had to rush and get their pads on and get ready to bat in 10 mins. Cook was then out for 4 lol.

Very much a disciple of the Ian Chappell school of doing what the opponent least wants

If that's the tactic, I'll keep Dhawan and Vijay in the changing rooms and send everybody else out and throw the ball to Wriddhiman Saha to carry forth the troll and waste more time.

So how come this unreliable Indian batting (its unreliable) outperform SA and England on this Adelaide pitch?

Check 2012 and 2013 scores.

SA made 388 with NO Mitch.
England made 172 with Mitch.

This doesn't mean India is a better side than them.

But this whole "its a patta, anyone can make any score" may not be a fair way to judge.

Mitchell Johnson is overrated, just because he had 2 good series doesn't make him world-class. He has been mediocre for most of his career and has been dropped more often than not.

And this whole analogy of 'this team made this much so and so' doesn't mean anything, if a team is bowled out for less than <100 on a pitch does that mean we shall praise every team that gets above 100 on the same pitch 2 years later? There is not much difference between 388 and 444, and even if there was there are too many factors such as the form of both teams, the pitch and weather as well as plain luck.

We all know what happens to mighty Pak batting whenever they step outside Asia. They make epic scores like 49 A.O .

You cannot talk about outside Asia when India's away record is abysmal and the scores don't reflect the phainty India get. Innings defeat after innings defeat where both bat and ball fail.

I don't hype the current Pak batting line-up with the likes of Shafiq, Azhar, Misbah etc. when we have players like Fawad, Haris, Maqsood, Babar etc. in the wings. It's Indians that hype their team up which makes it even more funny when they get battered by an innings and give players double and triple hundreds for fun.

And before you make any remarks about bowling, you can check on the stats of which team has been the best in bowling and we are close to the top despite losing Asif, Amir, Ajmal and Junaid to injury. Imagine if SA lose just 2 players in the form of Steyn and Morkel, or Aus losing Mitch and Harris. India's best domestic bowler is Pankaj Singh and we saw how England treated him :)))

You don't have to praise the team.

Its NOT a garbage performance.

Aussies did it to 2 non Asian teams.

In 2 separate years.

With different teams.

If you still want to believe this is a nothing performance from India, you are free to. :)

The data which I gave isn't from 1 series or something. Its a trend that is showing up for 3 consecutive years.

Don't get me wrong, it is a good performance for Indian away standards but is still nothing to shout home about

Considering 90% of us (Indians) we expected 0-4, its a out of the world start.

Doesn't mean we can't get owned in the next 3 tests.

But a very good start. But you know what, even now, there is a 50-50 chance of this being a draw/Indian loss.
