Dude think of the context. They are playing in Australia. The team was rocked by the loss of a popular player. There was a lot of emotion around the Test. Clarke got injured and batted virtually on one leg. Of course they will play to the audience they are broadcasting to. Indians in India aren't even getting the Channel 9 commentary they have Harsha Bhogle and Sanjay Manjrekar doing their commentary via Star Sports.

They have been complimentary to Indian players who deserved it, like Kohli and Aaron. But if you're expecting them to fawn over all the Indian players and praise them to the skies for doing nothing that's probably not going to happen.

If it's any consolation we feel the same when we hear your commentators during tours to India.

In my opinion, it's pretty much same with all commentary teams as long as you are not supporting home side.

lol these Indians can never be satisfied. Cricinfo is biased enough as it is, whenever a non-Indian gets a fifty or something they wrote 1 sentence in commentary, if an India hits a four you will see a paragraph. Cricinfo commentary is ALWAYS biased towards India's favoured result. So for example if India needs 150 off 20 overs, rather than being neutral they will always say "India need to up the scoring rate blah blah blah" rather than say the opposition need Indian wickets.

In terms of praising own team, listening to the likes of Sidhu whenever an Indian is batting is nauseating.

1 umpire makes 3 poor decisions in the same test againist the same opponent.Thats calls for some action to be taken againist that umpire.

India is the only nation who cries for umpires to be dropped after decisions go against them.

How is that not pressuring the umpires- at threat to their careers- to give tight calls to India at all times or be run out of the game? Shameful.

Either deal with the umpires decisions , bring in DRS or stop crying like babies.

the incompetency of umpires is precisely the reason of using DRS in the first place

True....3 decisions by the same umpire against the same opponent..couple of them howlers?

Absense of DRS...level of accepted incompetence is that high

Nothing much is happening out there really. Aus will have to work hard for their wickets today. It's a ballsy declaration by Clarke you have to say. Had the Indian openers put up a decent partnership I reckon they would have gone for it and may well have pulled it off. Now tho with that big wicket early on Aus can put the pressure on.

May be if home teams stop bullying the umpires and also by excessive decibel appealing.....

if india lose the write lose they write embarrassing one liners. If others teams like Pak lose they barely get any stick

So absense of DRS...fans should not expect competance from umpires !!

Logic gone to dogs...

In whatever field you are in, where you work, have you ever made a mistake? A big one or a small one? Or are you perfect? I'm sure you've made a mistake or many of them, because we are humans. Just like the umpires, they are humans. Even the best of the umpire's will make some bad decisions, howlers.

How do you help the umpires and the players to remove these obvious bad decisions? By having DRS. You do not want it? Then you're not helping and should not whine and complain and come up with conspiracy theories about obvious bias and other things.

Umpires are accountable for their poor decisions.Lack of DRS cannot be a reason for incompetency.Incompetence has to be punished.

And none of these were tight calls.

And its surprising how 1 umpire made all the mistakes and all againist 1 team.

Yeah man , as I posted earlier , I agree with the home bias. But some of them are so biased it's funny. For instance , one of the Indian batsman straight drove a boundary two days ago and the commentator went " beautiful shot. Clarke is admiring it. A shot he plays so well and scored lots of runs all over ... "

P.s. Ian chappel is my personal favourite.

Agree !!! I am not against DRS...i am just against people having a POV that fans should not except competance from umpires.

1 Mistake is a mistake.

3 mistakes against a same opponent ....is not anymore 'just a mistake'.

Logic would be using whatever resources you have to make the game better. You have the technology that is basically designed for this thing and has been super effective too.

But no, we will prefer to live in the dark ages.

yeah like that perfect hawkeye system...like that hotspot system while vaseline is applied to bats !! Please...anyway the topic is not DRS..

But a bad umpire and his biased umpiring against one team....

if we loose this match...its because australia have been playing with 12 players...and india..11...1 nice umpire !

Exactly. The whole premise of DRS is to reverse these howlers.

Think of it like this way, if you had DRS in place then you dont have to worry about the level competency of umpires or like you said, the players intimidating the umpire to make the decisions in their favor. The ICC will take note of these crap umpires and remove them from the elites. Everyone wins.

wow...

what pathetic appealing from the Australians...

no wonder the poor umpire feel threatened....idiotic !!

I guess they took the lead from No Hit's appeal for LBW against Smith yesterday

It's Ian Gould. He has never been a very good umpire :))

I think you guys are getting a bit emotional now like every fanbase would if they got decisions against them and I hope you guys accept DRS soon so that these things are gone from the game for the most of the part.

Pujara negating Lyon decently. It's going to be difficult saving this with our long tail. These two need to show a lot of application.

should remove those black arm bands,Hughes wouldn't have liked a test in his memory to be played this way

Umpires make mistakes. Obviously they don't do it on purpose. DRS/technology is available these days to assist umpires but India of course don't want to use it because apparently they prefer just the umpires lol. Aus have the right to be filthy if decisions go against them because they want DRS to be used. As for India no sympathy AT ALL!

Let the umpires decide when it comes to who's chucking. But when it comes to making split second decisions, let's hammer them and claim a conspiracy :))

It's odd seeing Lyon bowling hand grenades at Indian batsmen, I am used to seeing our fielders in danger of getting hurt when our spinners bowl to Indian batsmen.

Hey SL_Fan? your team need some money?? India is free after winning the World cup..

Wait IPL is there....so India C is ready to play...may be then you will win half a session of an ODI match in India..

Dont think BCCI needs sympathy from anyone. They are competent enough to take action, unlike a few other boards.

Remember how Lankan players were ready to pull out of the England tour just to play IPL in 2010.And how Sanga threw a fit when forces to play for a lankan team in CLT20.

Indians have no right to complain even though they fully support BCCIs stance against DRS. You reap what you sow so no sympathies
Accepted...we are reaping what we have sowed and this match is a prime example with three howlers..slap on arrogant bccci..i dont know how some of the people here behave as bccci agents though

One end is so exciting with Lyon bowling and the other is so boring with Siddle.

Aussies are working away at the umpires here by the way.
