According to all reports the WACA will be absolutely rapid, will be fascinating to watch Johnson and co on this rocket.

LOL yeah yeah support NZ for being nice guys, but everyone knows nice guys finish last :akhtar

'STRAYA to wrap this in 3 days MAX :mj :mc

Gonna stay up for this hope Austrlaia lose toss and NZ bat, want to see some fierce bowling before I go to bed.

It's a shame in a couple years they will stop playing at this venue, nothing short of a travesty.

Boult was very disappointing last test, hopefully he and NZ are more competitive this time around. We already have a boring test series coming up in December.

Australia won't be the same without the WACA. Such a historical ground/pitch, probably the most renowned around the world.

Looks like a slower-than-usual but still bouncy track.

Perhaps a 1-120 lunch, 2-250 tea and 5-360 close track.

Since when did NZ's pacers turn into 130k trundlers??

Can definitely recall them being much faster than this.

Boult is coming back from injury.

Southee has always been around this pace, although he's not 100% fit.

Aman why on earth is McCleanaghn not playing on this turf  has the pace and bounce to trouble the batsman

Muting and watching One Piece, the commentary is terrible.

What pace? He bowls mid 130's and likes to bang it half way down.

Australia would take him apart.

Boult ruining his reputation here, he's much better than this.

Needs to tighten up and bowl it in one channel, the edge will come.

Even at his best not sure he is suited to Australian conditions.

The bounce is pretty good. NZ just doesn't have the pace or hit the deck bowlers.

It should get faster by day 2.

Nah once the ball gets older we'll be chasing leather all day.

These are terrible cricket wickets.

are you joking ? Perth has one of the best cricket wickets. You just have to bowl right to be successful here

Why>
This is a good wicket. Rewards good batting and good bowling

Boult been spraying all over the place. Mate try landing the ball in the same place three times at least.

Should come around the wicket. It's a good line to regain your accuracy for lefties.

I've seen Scott bloody Kremerskothen dominate on this wicket.

Skill is required though.
By keeping it tight? If the batsmen are sensible they can see that period and score heavily later on against the older ball (Kookaburra's a particularly terrible after the initial overs, they allow batsmen to make merry and offer the bowlers literally nothing after the initial 8-10 overs).

This is the best time to bowl, and if our bowlers aren't getting anything now, they're going to only to get worse from here.

Going by your logic your batters should score tons of runs too right?

They should, the Aussies would agree they bowled terribly against us.

Difference is our batsmen were much worse and gave away their wickets.

Another issue with the Kookburra... they never last... always happens in NZ Tests as well.

NZ Tests are always like this - wickets up front, followed by teams consolidating and building partnerships in the middle before the second new ball usually takes another 1-3 wickets and allows the bowlers to wrap up the tail.

Just been looking at the last two years of matches in Australia Aman and would like you to clarify if you are talking about NZ bowling only because if you mean all matches in Australia then the actual figures don't support what you are claiming. Can you provide some sort of evidence because in most matches the Kookaburra ball provides something for the bowlers during the 80 overs and I'm interested in how you drew these conclusions.

Brendon "Agressive" McCullum losing the plot with field settings.

There isn't any middle ground with this guy.
