What's new

Australia v Pakistan | 1st Test | Brisbane | Dec 15-19, 2016 | Day 5

Whoever wins, this Test actually indicates what was Shane Warne. In history of the game, there are only 2 great teams with 4 bowlers strategy Lloyd's WI & Warne's AUS. Lloyd played with 4 bowlers having a combined average of around 23 & SR of 54 - and he had a batting line-up that could put 350 in a Day in 70s/80s when 3.00 run-rate was like racing.

Aussies Captains had a bowler, who could bowl 70 overs in 4 Days, at 2.35 economy & each & every ball like Chinese water torture. He allowed he other 3 to bowl flat-out for whole day. There could be many great cricketers, but Warne, Gilchrist, Imran, Viv, Murali are unique - probably, never there will anyone like them.

I think Richard Kettleborough should umpire every single game that England don't play in!

That was a super bad decision.. Umpire helping his side

God.

That was close.

Really hope it isn't umpire's call that gets a batsman out.

Thats it shafiq should farm the strike for a while. Yasir is getting itchy.

Yaar Shah is looking vulnerable all of a sudden

Shafiq bhai strike rakh apne pass

This is 55th over for Starc in 2.5 days - surely he is not going to last till the ODIs.

Play and miss by Shah.. he is going to get out soon

Remember reading a tweet from Warne and Dean Jones at the start of the third day sth along the lines of "going to the gabba early to see Australia win a match"

Now Dean Jones is losing it on twitter lmao..:)))

I've got a 45 second delay on my phone's video.

Every time I get an alert it's giving me a heart attack.

Whats he saying?

The good thing is they are tiring out their main bowlers. Could have taken two runs there.

This reminds me a lot of the Centenary Test in Melbourne, when Australia beat England by the same margin as the very first ever Test - 45 runs.

This match is like a rollercoaster ride. Australia upping the ante and drying up the runs in the search for a wicket

Both batsmen looking pretty ragged and insecure now. What changed? Is it the pressure?

From here on nerves are the only enemy. You are likely to do stupid things. If they can play sensible history will be made.

Reverse swing from HW is a concern, created 2/3 chances 😰😰

The ball has started to reverse a little . Bad signs for us.

Batting has become harder. I hope they keep their heads straight. Bowlers will get tired mentally and physically.

:4:

3rd ball is 16 overs away -Smith is in a bit confusion here. Ideally, he should preserve his new ball pair for 3rd ball, but he can't allow this pair to reach 470....

Great going... get it down to in 30s now.

Highest ever Fourth Innings total to lose - 451.

Second highest in 140 years of Test cricket? This.

Btw what's the highest 4th innings score apart from the 600 odd in the timeless test?

16 overs are too many. Game will be over before that if he plans for that.
