What's new

Australia v Pakistan | 2015 World Cup | Quarter-Finals | 20th March, 2015 | Adelaide | Pak innings

They would not have continued with Maxwell after being hit for 2 sixes & also knowing batsmen where struggling to score against pacers .

It's about hatching all the eggs at one go - PAK tries this every-time & misses most cases. AUS was 1 bowler short, that's without including 10 from Faulkner. At some point, they had to make that. Yesterday, IND was 104/2 after 26 & showed exactly how you keep wickets in middle overs - what PAK needed was to go in to PP with 8 wickets, may be even at 145/2 after 35.

All is not lost. If we can get to 235. I back the boys. This partnership key.

honestly it has to be min 250.
a) aus do not choke they are big game players
b) they bat very very deep and have lot of good batsmen with each one capable of finishing on their own
c) pitch/conditions are actually not bad for batting at all, this was a 275-300 pitch if you bat sensibly.
d) we dont have irfan like we did against SAF
e) our fielding will give away extra 10 runs and could drop 1 tough or easy chance.

so i'm sorry, but unless its super miracle it aint happening. Mamoon was right all along.

no irfan means we cant defend 250 this time Aussie play bowlers like sohail adil wahab whole year

We have absolutely nothing on the board to defend. Thanx to the usual culprits:

Shahzad
Umar
Afridi

Whats your point :moyo?? You prefer Zero runs in 50 overs over some runs and some wickets?

Did you see the stats shown on the TV? Pak wins 79% of games when they have at least 2, 50+ partnerships. No strike rate, no individual 100s, but just 2 50+ partnership. You had one between Misbah and Sohail. One more might have taken you to 250.

At 5 down Jadeja comes out to bat for India, Sabbir for Bangladesh, Mathews or Chandimal for Srilanka. All those names you can depend on in crisis and they usually deliver. For Pakistan? Mr Afridi it is at that no.it is crazy

Beta match hi hai koi baat nahi autho or nashta ker lo :(

One more wicket then panic.

These two if we can make 230, we can defend.

Afridi to run through em.

look i know its painful but its time to accept the brutal fact.
a) is pitch a dry turner = NO
b) is afridi in form with bowling = NO
c) does australia need to take many chances against him if chasing only 230 = NO

On this batting belter it should be at least score of 280 290, what a horrid batting performance,

250 just gives you and outisde chance , I will be surprised if you guys defend lower totals against Aus .

This is not a clueless South African batting linup . Messed up a very good opportunity imo

Wahab batting like a proper tail ender :)))

Man this so a 280 runs wicket.

If PAK reaches say 245/9, I 'll put my money for them. PAK tried to reach there & chances are that 'll miss by 60 runs at least. 280 in a QF at Adelaide D/N is PAK way of thinking, any other team 'll think of playing out 50 overs & go into last 10 overs with 7 wickets at hand.

Afridi, knowing that this might be his last game, should have played sensibly. Am I expecting too much?

How is Afrid's inning selfish?

it's a typical innings from Afridi. Stop expecting miracles.

If you cannot adapt to the situation and play for the team it is indeed selfish. Typical innings excuse has been used for long but Afridi clearly can rotate strike easily, in fact he is the best rotater of strike in Pakistan

The commentators are trying to frame different sentences to show how Australian cricket is the best. Etc etc etc...

I remember a game where Pakistan left Australia at 9-4. If only that is possible to happen today.

I told you guys pakistan has to be very watchful of lalloos, and they did exactly the opposite, maxwell of all people.

If we make it to 50 overs we will have something to defend.

Come on lads.

These two are showing how to put Australia's fielding under pressure: aggressive running.

Aus are good but not great, as its pak that is rubbish .We will know how great they are when they play India next.
