that's the problem, we're just about losing with him not trying to do anything, god help us when he actually tries.
 
Big blow to us if Asif is out of the game. He might not be a wicket-taking bowler in ODIs but he surely stops the run flow, as shown in the last game where he only gave 40 odd runs in his 10 overs and also took a wicket.

Gul will get smacked.

I know what your saying but we can't do much about it. Who are the other options? Gul is our next best bowler.

No reports that Asif in injured.
 
On the other hand, it'll be interesting to see how the two Indian spinners, Ishant Sharma and Zaheer Khan, do in the second Test against Bangladesh.

The pace battery of Harbhajan Singh and Amit Mishra, however, shouldn't be underestimated.

Yeah, I guess, Gul is our next best bowler.
He'll be better than Asif in the death though - Asif's, although extremely disciplined, line and length bowling will just get smacked in the death as the only thing which stops the run flow is yorkers and yorkers only, which Gul does.
 
gul's the guy we needed in the last match, he could have thrown in some yorkers and created dot balls.. oh wel

Yup, confirmed.

Asif will make way for Umar Gul, who will return to the playing eleven after sitting out of the Brisbane game where Pakistan opted for Rana Naved-ul-Hasan. The visitors are unlikely to make any changes to the batting order as they piled up a healthy 274 in the first one-dayer.

Oh well.. with every negative change, there comes a positive one - atleast Gul MIGHT just make a few more handy runs than Asif will with the bat, and also, Gul is a better death bowler than Asif no doubt
 
Any idea how long Asif will be out for?
He needs to be back ASAP, hopefully in time for the next game.

Thumb injury

Pakistan have suffered a blow ahead of the second ODI as pacer Mohammad Asif was almost ruled out of the game because of a thumb injury he suffered at the Gabba on Friday.

You'd think that Geo would put it on their website to say Asif is injured. Surprised that Cricinfo have nothing too.

Yeah, best of luck to Gul. A few of his spells in the Test series were quite good, so some signs of a comeback to form from him there.

Well you don't have to put these comment in people mouth. we know yusuf kitna pani main hay :D. We have already seen Yk as a captain and he is no doubt light years ahead of freakin brain dead moyo :D

What is wrong with Willow today? Why haven't they started the broadcast yet?
 
Moyo needs to make up his mind, now he is blaming YK for field set up, bowlers for bowling when they took 3 early wickets and claiming there is no team unity(YK is back):). I thought Moyo had more sense.

MoYo is scared of his batting falling like nine pins in the overcast conditions but it could be worst under light and showers later. If showers come, we may be screwed by DL.

Could have really used Asif on this pitch, especially now that we are bowling first. Bahaaraal, let's see how it goes.
