What's new

Australia v Pakistan | 2nd Test - Day 1 | SCG | 3/01/10

players doing pushups and some light practice. Stumps are up on the pitch

I think Ponting is ready to bowl if they win the toss. The stretching and preparation hint that.

It was during the 2003 World Cup. There was so much hype around the Indi-Pak match. That's the first match I can remember watching and since then I've been hooked. Growing up in NY baseball, NFL, and basketball were my main sports but cricket has made its way in the top 4. I still prefer baseball over cricket and NFL is tied with cricket for second. I guess its a part of growing up in NYC. Moved here when I was 5.
are you yankees or mets fan?

Yeah I hear ya, who knows maybe if there was a big hyped up match like the Ind/Pak match of 03 during my time in the US, I prolly wouldve been a cricket follower long time ago.... NFL still the top dawg for me...

lads skysports just got the teams together, Umar Akmal dropped for shoaib malik, perhaps they want to have one extra part time spin bowler :yk

Rope going round the outfield. No idea how that helps.

The rope soaks up the surface moisture from the grass.

The underlying drainage at Australian grounds is very good so the main concern is always surface moisture and the bowler's run ups.

So no Aamer eh? The curse of touring Australia strikes yet again. Just once I would like to see a full strength touring side. Oh hang on, that was South Africa tour :))

And we get to see Hughes, one thing for certain it will be more entertaining than Katich batting. All the short ball talk obscures how good his record is.

Check it out here http://www.cricinfo.com/ausvpak09/content/current/player/272364.html Averages 52 in Test cricket, 58 in FC cricket and 57 in T20

Must be one absorbent rope. Ponting bats!!! Comeon Asif, his cockiness needs to be punished!!!
