what a day! it looked like Pakistan were in trouble in the morning session, Watson looked in absolutely supreme touch...but a moment of magic from Dani and the whole day turned around for us...pick of the bowlers was Umar Gul, I've seen him bowl worse than that and pick up more wickets, absolutely class bowling from him and Kaneria today...special mention to the slippers Faisal and Misbah as well today. held on to some excellent catches...but Kami has been absolutely shocking today, not 1, 2 but THREE lives to Hussey! :(

His position as a keeper seriously needs to be reconsidered.
What bugs more is his big mouth never knows when to shut up and concentrate on his catching skill

we would have been in a better shape, had Kamran taken Hussey's catch

Superb day of cricket and im actually quite happy that the Aussies will be batting first thing in the morning - wont be the worst thing in the world if they spend the first 20-25 mins out there

All the whingers should get lost - this has been an AMAZING day for Pak cricket and all you can do is nitpick little problems. We are on the verge of BEATING Australia, IN Australia, thats some major achievement (Inshallah we will pull it off) Be happy :36: :36:

Kami's keeping has been good in the recent past. Today was shocking. Three catches and a run out was missed with ball in his hand just watching Watson make it home. We gave Watson two chances and Hussey three chances.

We really know how to make it difficult for us from winning position. Kami will hit low when he isn't scoring runs.

Hold on to your horses. Check the weather forecast.

gotta earn some money for living too, i don't get paid 10K for dropped catches like kami does:)

All the best mate!!! dont leave the forum though, you bring life to our team and to this forum :D

you're right, but the bottom line is that Australia are 70-odd with only 2 wickets remaining, so I'll take that thank you very much!

InshAllah we will wrap this up tomorrow.

Gul,Asif and Kaneria all bowled very well. Kaneria improved a lot in the final session.

If it wasn't for the drops this match would have finished today. Will have to wait for tomorrow.

You missed my name. :pissed:

I am very happy with pakistan's performance today but very disappointed in the last hour or so, they could easily have knocked them off under 80 runs, still pakistan should let them go beyond 100, I don't trust my batsmen to make anything more than 100.

General question about the ball.

If the ball is lost due to a massive hit, what happens? do they just introduce a new ball right away than?

they replace it with a similar ball

Not brand new. They have those used balls and they replace the lost one with a ball which is close to the condition of lost ball.

All in all, if we had been given this position at the start of the day's play today, we would have taken it with both hands. Hence, don't see why we should be down now - sure, Kami's drops were annoying, but it seems we cannot go through a day without someone, somewhere, dropping sitters. The same player who catches brilliant catches one day, drops sitters the next. It's bizarre and inexplicable, but also sadly, a part of life (a bit like Jennifer Garner's preference for Affleck instead of me, really................).

Anyway, where was I? Ah yes. So let's get over the dropped catches. This was a brilliant day for us. Some great bowling and great catching has brought us here - well done to our team, couldn't have asked for more. :14: :14:

What a wonderful comeback, its not just the match state, its also the way we have arrived here. Playing some wonderfully intelligent cricket and winning most of the key sessions and the most of the key contests in this match.

Hi, I am Momo, and I approve this message (except the bit about Jennifer Garner, whom, sadly, I don't know). Very well summed up.

And cheer up gloomy guys. The world of cricket needs wrist spinners, not wrist slitters. Thank you.

For me the highlight of the day was how :asif again worked to get Michael Clarke's wicket.

This guy is a gem of a bowler and Osman Samiuddin rightly called him a tactitian in his article on day 1.

There you go Momo.

It was a brilliant bowling performance considering the pitch was excellent for batting all day. We really need to clean up first thing in the morning every run will double the pressure on our batsmen.

LOL! Thank you sir. :)

Re: Mrs. Affleck... well, you obviously have other preoccupations if you don't know her! The wonderful word 'gourmand' makes me think your interests go in other, more 'fruitful', directions. Can't really argue with that....

I guess I believe in appreciating beauty in all its forms: Great food, Asif's in-cutters, Mrs. Affleck, Kaneria's appealing, etc etc etc :)

:) You are too kind..seriously! :)

But well, given where we are after three days of absolutely beautiful cricket from our boys, we're all feeling very kind.. tis the season :)

Hope it lasts...at least till tomorrow, Insha Allah!!

80 is a massive score, 2 wickets in hand. open with Umar and finish it rapidly ?
Massive?! :13: IT IS NOT!

Open with Umar, what if he gets out to a slog in the first over? And the other guy gets out to a great beauty from Bollinger? Suddenly we are 0-2, and with no tail, means only have FIVE wickets left to chase 100. The total now looks like a mountain..and becomes massive thanks to your strategy.

No, thanks.

Open with the TWO GUYS who got us here!! Let them do their jobs, and let them bat normally and sensibly... ignoring catcalls of "tuk tuk cricket"...and being deaf to stupid shouts for them to BWI (Bat With Intent) or whatnot.

seriously it is irritating, especially his sometimes advice of "ghoomay gi ghoomay gi" lol!! But cummon spilling 3 darn catches as a vice captain too is baaaad. We would have just needed one wicket tomorrow that too a cheap one if hussey hadnt been dropped by kamran!!!

Sometimes one BIG mistake can outweigh all other positive achievements. If Hussey goes on to a match winning/saving knock, Kammy has denied us an historic victory.

Just got back from school and am very very happy to see the score

I left with Haddin and Hussey at the crease after Kami dropped his 3rd catch.

We've done well to reduce them to 80 for 8.
Wrap it up before 100 and chase it down.

Lets get the historic victory guys

Went to sleep after ponting wicket and woken to find that you guys have done very well. aussies 80 runs on the lead. Aim should be to bundle out the remaining 2 remaining wickets soon
( less than 20 more runs) and the game is yours in the bag............
Congratulations..............

losing from thr great position that we are in, will be a debacle for Pakistan. As for Australia to win they need a miracle, which we have been providing in the form of you know what.
