You haven't lost yet. But if you do lose, it would be pathetic not just because Pakistan scored 450, but also because weather couldn't have helped you more in ensuring a draw.

If Misbah tries to go for negative tactics, I think Pakistan will lose.

The safest bet for Pakistan is to knock over the tail quickly and then score at 3.5 an over - the Test would be saved by Tea.

And when I say knock over the tail, they need to put Smith under pressure too, not play him in with wide rubbish. This ball is only 30 overs old and in ten overs will be hugely hittable.

But I can imagine Misbah trying defensive fields, leaving Australia 590-9 declared at Lunch.

A defensive Pakistan might then be 80-4 at Tea, still 70 behind, and under huge pressure.

Since yesterday, that is I am trying to be - unfortunately still you can't see that. Barring spot fixing issues, there is nothing unrealistic in appointing him Captain - PAK won't do anything as long as a batsman is Captain. The philosophy of this team has been always bowling focus & that's wicket taking bowling - PAK bowlers will never bowl well if they are to ask containing & a batsman Captain will never ask them to buy wicket.

Besides, Misbah has made sure that there is no other bowler/ all-rounder under 30, who could be tried out. Once appointed, you'll believe Misbah was the best thing after Ian Chappel, when you'll see Azhar leading the charge.
