What's new

Australia v Pakistan | 3rd Test | Sydney | Jan 3-7, 2017 | Day 2

Asghar is born in Balochistan.

Mohammad Adil is a decent quickie who I believe has been picked by the Gladiators.

Yeah but I swear Asghar is a pathan? Just like how Shehzad is a pathan but is from another city.

Bro just out of curiosity, has a cricketer from Balochistan ever played for Pakistan? Are there any talented players from there that can make a debut?

Aftab Baloch and Shoaib Khan have played for Pakistan.

Currently best player from Balochistan is Mohammad Asghar. He is with pakistan team and he will play for Pakistan. There is a good fast bowler who has clocked 146-147 in a trial. He is part of emerging fast bowlers camp. He is right arm and his name us Muhammad Adil.

Don't you think Asghar is too young and raw for a spinner in international cricket?

but but but, he's the greatest Pakistan has ever produced.

He is indeed the greatest FTB Pakistan has ever produced. :yk

Always knew he would get exposed only in matter of time after stepping outside of UAE.

Ian Chappell with the sneak dissing, saying how he was told to enjoy his fielding :)))

Aussie commies saying India's fielding has become "decent"? Their fielding is world-class.

Before a ball was bowled I predicted in my post yesterday, Australia will declare 2nd day after tea at 576-4.

Yasir Shah hasn't been on the field after lunch, Rizwan is the substitute fielder for him.

I think Smith will declare around 30 minutes before Tea at 550-6.

He has to take account of the pitch being slow and dead, and the possibility that that could bring Younis and Misbah back into the equation.

Azhar getting a lot of praise from commentators for his bowling.

That drop from Younis is starting to cost us now as Cartwright is well on his way to a fifty on debut.

I can't believe this Imran Khan.

McGrath and Asif only bowled high 120's in Tests themselves.

But as Chris Rogers keeps saying, his action is not repeatable so he can't hit a consistent line and length.

And he's not tall enough for Aussie conditions anyway. Even in old age, Ambrose and Walsh and McGrath could lift it from a full length so the batsman couldn't score freely.

But at the height of Imran and Amir, you need to hit an area about the size of a matchbox, whereas at McGrath and Asif's height you have roughly the size of a piece of A4 to target and at Ambrose's height you have roughly one square metre to hit.

With fast bowling in Australia and South Africa, geometry means that height is everything.

Chappell spot on. The complacency in the field often carries on to batting. PAK did this when they let Starc have his way with the bat in the last test. Eng did this too on day 4 in Chennai when they let Nair get to 300.

I wouldn't be surprised if this match finishes inside 3.5 days.

What are Imran's short 123K pies intended to do?

They only climb to thigh height. I'm baffled.

if this happens, this kind of loss will be so humiliating for Misbah that he won't be able to continue even if he wants to.

I thought Cartwright was an attacking t20 type hitter but looks like a plodder but still early days.

So now Misbah has literally bowled Yasir Shah into the ground.

Kyle Abbot, Colin De Grandhomme, Matt Renshaw and now Peter Handscomb.

We'll be 4/5 down by end of play tonight

Lol @ selection of Sharjeel

it should be a very interesting. they have decent batting, actual spinners, unlike Eng, and they have a monster in Starc.

Starc and other Australian bowlers had a lot of trouble getting Pakistani tailenders out in the second innings of the first Test. I think Indian batsmen will do well against them.

Handscomb looking like he has played test cricket for years, so comfortable and so much time

He faces much better bowling attacks in Shield cricket, so this was cakewalk for him.

True,i have a gut feeling that his technique will be exposed in much tougher condition against better bowlers

If not he will be a long term prospect....the lad has got very good temperament to succeed in longer formats

he looks suspect against spin. one of the indian trio will devour him.

Khuda ka wasta hai Australia, declare kardo. Aur kitni dhulai karni hai? :sree

Why is Aus playing two spinners ? Pak can easily score 450 runs on this track.

I always thought he'd be a candidate for hit-wicket considering how far back in the crease he gets.

bowl reversing nicely now.

i'm hoping :)

What a way to get out. :)) Good innings though, Handscomb batted very well.

A wicket for Azhar finally. Should do good for his bowling average.

Would have picked up Cartwright's wicket too if it wasn't for the legend dropping the catch.

Forget Starc's bowling. Even his batting is similar to the way Wasim used to bat. Long, clean sixes.

Azhar has been a better bowler than Yasir in this series; should have had a couple more wickets with better catching.
