What's new

Australia v Pakistan | 3rd Test | Sydney | Jan 3-7, 2017 | Day 3

What a shot! That was probably his best cover drive of the series. Supreme poise.

Trivia: When was the last time two triple-centurions batted together?

What is the record for most centuries by a Pakistani in Australia in a series?

Surely Azhar might be close to breaking it, I can't imagine any Pakistani scoring a double and century on the same tour

Why are they still harping on about that LBW shout! There are countless such umpire calls every test. They seem to have taken it to heart.

Mohsin Khan scored two tons in that series.

Asif Iqbal and Mohsin Khan made 2 each in a series. Mohsin's was in a five Test series though. And obviously none of them made a 200.

I can't remember if it ever happened. Chris Gayle and Brian Lara batted together in the innings Gayle got his triple but Gayle hadn't gotten his triple by the time Lara got out.

So if Azhar scores a century today he will undoubtedly be our most prolific bat in Aussieland

I think, YK is batting far better in this series than ENG. Better balance, better judgement & he is waiting for the ball to come on to bat. This is true for Sarfu, Asad & Azhar as well - going beyond stats, this actually suggests that most PAK players will perform much better if PCB can arrange regular 4/5 Test series away from Asia & they can be a bit bold with UAE tracks.

We could do with two triples at the moment. Put a lead of say 250 and dismiss Australia for 200. That would be epic and also nearly impossible.

He already has the most runs by a Pakistani in Australia in a series and has hit a double-hundred which no Pakistani did before.

I think he is the GOAT. :butt

Azhar might be excellent but he is no where close to Butt..

Silly by YK - this is Josh's 6th over, he just availed him 6 extra minutes of rest.

How come you ask the trivia question when you don't know the answer yourself :afridi

Lol. What kind of a statement is that? So you can't ask a question if you don't know the answer?

Trivia: Which great batsman scored hundreds in his 1st & last Test innings? Truly a great batsman, probably would have been among the best or best in any other era had there not been a better one.

What the hell man, how many overs are these guys going to bowl? Gtho already.

Miandad? :jm

Smith has gone desperate; probably Aussies want a revenge of last UAE sweep; otherwise he won't have used Starc/Josh for such long spells in a dead rubber, which still might end in draw.

If PAK pair can survive this spell, this pair isn't coming back before 81st over.

Greg Chappell?

Younis Khan is going to have to score 300 to atone for running Azhar Ali out.

I want an apology from those Pundits regarding my post on Sami's run out at Birmingham .........

YK better go big now the rest of the batting is very shaky.

Worst way to get out in a Test Match wen we were going along so well!

Younis Khan is going to have to score 300 to atone for running Azhar Ali out.

This was 110% Azhar's fault. Please explain how YK is responsible for a run out at the far end?

Because Younis stopped running after three paces.

It was Younis' call, not Azhar's. Totally Younis' responsibility.

Rubbish from the freaking so-called legend.

Not YK's fault - Azhar hesitated for no reason when the run was clearly on.

Too slow out of the blocks.

Even the commentator said Azhar was ball-watching...

Misbah tou doo chaar ball ke hi mehmaan hain..

Shafiq should already go and stand by the boundary line.

On ABC Radio Simon Katich and Jim Maxwell both blame Younis for stopping.

Ball's behind Azhar. That's Younis' call. You can't be stopping midway. Basics of cricket.

YK didn't stop - he was charging down the line & would have beaten a direct hit.

It was of a mis-field which Azhar had to wait before ball passing the fielder; but once he started, he had to make sure that Aussies gets him out with a direct, they missed twice yesterday.

Not YK's fault - Azhar was slow as a tortoise there. SHould have responded to YK's call earlier.

Genius, he was waiting to see if it goes past the close-in fielder. The run clearly wouldn't have been on if he stopped it.
