This is from Cricinfo commentary -

109.7 Lee to Duminy, no run, full ball swinging into the left-hander, Duminy drives fluently towards mid-off

Cricket rules now allows 7 deliveries in an over.

It will be sad to see Duminy sitting out when Prince comes back

If Mckenzie doesn't show up he'll take his place.

Everyone knows dumminy is pure class...but the top top s.a batters have all averaged over 50 in the past year , except kallis...who do you drop ?

Agreed Mckenzie's place is looking threatened. Imran Khan is doing so well as an opener for the Dolphins and I think that should McKenzie fail again than Khan will get replace him

Will be nice to see dumminy get his maiden 50 and De villiers get a 100 to round it off.

I don't think he's next in line. Despite his problems Gibbs is still lurking for a final fling and Mckenzie deserves at least another few chances after his good season.

Duminy presented Brett Lee with the full face of the bat with convincing strokes.

If that happens than my prediction will be correct i.e. Proteas just need 2 centuries and 3 50's to win. :D

Gibbs is even having problems with the Cape Cobras coach Shukrie Conrad. He got dropped by the Cobras. It's best top look to the future and forget about Gibbs

I don't see Gibbs playing Test cricket ever again.

Well done South Africa.
I thought they were well and out of the game a long time ago, but they proved me wrong with some gutsy batting.

Who then ? We're low in batting depth beyond dumminy. although i hear there's a good new generation of youngsters entering into the system now.

He didn't racially abuse your team ...we've been over this a million times.

well done south africa. should they win this game and the series it would a quite a remarkable tour beating impressive teams along the way.

And the funny thing is prince is not even in this game. Who plays next match duminy or prince?!!

logically it has to be prince but it must be nice to have a good back up

Have you heard De Villiers latest song. This guy sings just as well as he bats

There are youngsters, I just feel Gibbs has had his turn. Wouldn't mind De Villiers moving up the order etc. McKenzie isn't my fave at all.

all cricket forums are busy today....everybody is loving the way saffers are choking the aussies.... :))) i'm loving this :))

Games are never over till the end. I had faith in the Protea batting lineup.

Remember a bowler doesn't always get 8 wickets in both innings of a test, but batsmen can bat well in the 2nd innings of a test and score over 400 when there is only 1 decent bowler in the lineup. :)

Coudln't happen to a nicer guy...well played AB. Come on JP ..gget your deserved 50 too.

Brilliant come back from RSA!!

Who will be the man of the match?

Congratulations RSA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Historic won for them!!!!!!!!!!

This is the second highest run chase in Test cricket history.

Both 1 and 2 against Australia!

Great piece of history made by the South Africans, 1 - nil in the series more importantly.

434 and now 414 against the same side

Incidently the road on the east side of my house is called 434 and the one on the west is called 414

Now south africa must win the next test. I want to see australians play a dead rubber in their own backyard with the series gone already! :asif

I back S.A to win the series easily from here. I don't want to sound arrogant but I really did not see anything about this Aussie side to worry the saffer team. If there's seam and swing on offer then our bowlers will come into their own. Our batters are all on form and even our spinner is bowling well.

And more than all of that the aussie have lost their aurs and psychological advantage. All the pressure is on them now...to put it another way it feel just a little like they're the pretenders right now.

Ian Chappell is getting a lot of stick on cricinfo for his article ,lol
They did put it up a tad bit early

Exactly. As i always said Johnson was really lucky in first inning to get 8 wickets. Batsmen from SA played poor shots in first inning but in second inning, they have shown the patient, sensible and maintained to say longer on the pitch. Beside nothing special deliveries i have seen apart from hitting 90 mph.

What a toothless bowling attack. Seems like they could even chase 700 runs.

Yeah true the bowling attack kind of sucks but i think it was a little closer than it appeared because there was only one recognized batsmen left after the pair i.e. Mark Boucher. 2 or 3 quick wickets could've been curtains for SA. Well played by AB and Duminy in the end.

Only way Australia can save the series is by scoring 1000 runs in the first innings and praying.

I am sorry to say Sakib ul Hassan had more control over SA than any of they Australian bowlers.

I am not surprised. In fact, Sohail Tanvir aka mid 130 kmph, could have done a lot damaged alone than the whole Australian bowling attack. Same goes with Asif. I knew the fact that without Stuart Clark, the bowling attack would appear to be weak especially two fastest bowlers with hitting 90 mph, but sadly, they didn't know where to hit on right areas. As soon as South Africa batsmen get settled to face fast bowlers of 90 mph, nothing could stop them from destroying the fast bowlers just like Sehwag does to Sami and Akhtar. Without control, pace is useless. That's why Wasim Akram has been more successful and Akhtar is not. :D

Akhtar is actually very successful when he plays. He has suffered more because of injuries and discipline issues. His stats are excellent.

He has been inconsistent with the amount of matches he has played and that doesn't include injuries to arrive with conclusion.

It was all in the head. The only thing that could have cost the South Africans the match was their mental collapse and breakdown. But this victory just proves that the Aussies are just paper champions and champions on reputation. They are in decline right now and the only bowler who can be trusted at the moment is Johnson.

The only real edge the Aussies had over the South Africans was in Mcgrath and Warne and perhaps mental strength. There is very little difference if any between the two teams now. In fact the South Africans have a much better bowling attack.

Steyn >>>>> Lee
Morkel = Johnson
Kallis >>>>> Siddle
Clarke will not be totally effective and he is no Mcgrath
Kretza is too one diminensional
The Aussies have no leg spinning options and plz white is a joke

If the Aussies cannot beat the South Africans in Perth then i am sorry but the way i see it this series is over already. Congradulations South Africa, they should really savor this moment. I would like to see Ian Chappels reaction now.

"I would like to see Ian Chappels reaction now"

He is getting worked up now, and preparing genuine excuses to blog in Cricinfo. He is like totally shattered and couldn't find new words to form! LOL
