So after 8 games Saffies have won 4 matches fora 50% win rate.

Random Aussie said:Yeah that's what India said last summer too.![]()
saffer said:20/20's don't count. So it's 4 out 6...soon to be 5 out of 7. Our total Bunnies !
Besides aussies have won all but 1 od the tosses. That's a massive disatvantage and we're still easily pwning them.
Fish said:Oh look at you Saffer, your team gets absolutely thrashed in the 20/20s and suddenly they dont count.
So I take it then that SA will not be playing in the 20/20 world cup then)

IronMan2009 said:Total is going to be 20 runs short of defendable. If they score 10 runs form here that will be a tricky total. I won't count Australia out with series on the line.
saffer said:I think 20/20 is stupid.
IronMan2009 said:Seems like Arthur seems to be happy with total they are chasing.
Fish said:Of course you do, your team got smashed so you have no option but to say that.)

IronMan2009 said:Even though the pace says 150 plus.. he is not hitting the bat hard. They play him easily. Infact Flintoff with 142 clicks hit the bat harder than Tait did with 151. These speed guns are misleading.
Random Aussie said:Oh ok so he is not quick then.
What is with the Flintoff worship? He is an average bowler with very average career who looks great while being average.
IronMan2009 said:Not worshipping. Just observation.
IronMan2009 said:His over-ambitious innings came to an end. But good start though. Bowling was at his mercy. Unnecessarily he charged down the wicket.
Easa said:There's definitely something wrong with the speed-guns. Hilfenhaus clocking 144kph - he looks about as quick as Rao!

Lahoria said:Gibbs in my opinon is the best batsman to watch when in full flow, too bad he usually throws away his wicket but he is all class.
BTW RA you guys cud really use a Flintoff right now![]()
It's the pitches.Random Aussie said:Hilfenhaus has decent pace, big strong ex laborer who uses his arm to get pace more than the run up.
Nothing wrong with our speed guns but I suggest there are some issues with yours in Pakistan.![]()
Only place that clocks higher speeds than Australia is South Africa.
Easa said:It's the pitches.
If he was bowling on the pancakes of Pakistan, he wouldn't clock more than mid-130's. He didn't look threatening at all.
On_the_up said:Australia's decline seems steeper than we all thought it would be.
Keith said:If SA happen to clinch the series in this game i beleive that j botha should be given the man of the series award. His bowling has, almost single handedly stopped the aussies in their tracks in at least 3 of the games. On all those occasions aussie looked set to score 300 + and ended up many too short.
Add that to the way he has captained his charges in his 1st serious series and i beleive that he should be a "sure in" for MOS.
Random Aussie said:Say what?![]()
Keith said:Check out his figures in the games that sa have won, (I include the current game a little prematurely though!!!)
In all three of those games botha has come on when the aussies were well on top, had settled batters and looked to be setting scores in excess of 300 on all those occassions. On all three of those occassions they ended up well short of the targets they should have reached.
On_the_up said:how can the Aussies play Murali so well and falter against Botha?
Random Aussie said:Sorry Keithy I was taking issue with the word "bowled"![]()
He has chucked very well this series no doubt. And performed under pressure. Kudos.
Keith said:We will take em any way we can mate!!! Especially if we clinch the odi series on AUSSIE DAY!!!!
SA, if they win this series, will have had 2 succesful captains on their tour of Down Under!!!
How many teams have won a test series and a ODI series in aussie, on the same tour?
I do not read much into the ODI's much though, not really "pure cricket" in my books!!! I have no need to even mention that other form of street / pyjama cricket!!!
On_the_up said:Or has it been due to the "mental disintegration" applied to Murali from all quarters
to be fair, Murali probably gets more than his fair shareRandom Aussie said:Aww poor Murali, the crowd call no ball when he "bowls".![]()
All those other bowlers who come to Australia and do well must be very mentally tough then to still be able to perform despite the "mental disintegration".
Or maybe Murali is just soft and doesn't like it when things get tough.
On the subject of the match, we are getting smashed.![]()
