Australia vs India | 1st Test | Adelaide | Dec 6-10, 2018 | Day 2 Thread

This is the danger area for India, If these 2 stay then it might well be game over... 1-0 to Aus

Shami is our weakest link, bowled garbage in SA, Eng and now here. He is playing the wrong format, he should be a certified starter in the ODI XI and never in the test squad.

Garbage? Jeez. Shami was our best bowler in South Africa. 15 wickets @ 17.

OK I may have been too harsh with my words because of anger, my apologies.

His stats in SA are deceiving because he failed when the match was in the balance and picked cheap wickets when we were chasing the game. Bumrah, Bhuvi and Ishant all outbowled him in that series if you look at the context of the wickets and match situation.

Shani us unfit, old and ineffective. Definitely past it. Was our worst bowler in England and here as well. We need siraj!

I get the shami criticism but you really want a bowler who is clearly one of the worst bowlers India has ever given a debut to, to replace him.

from Twitter : The first ball of the eighth over saw Jasprit Bumrah send down a 153.26kph delivery to Marcus Harris. No ball in the match has been quicker. #AUSvIND

:out:

Bumrah walks and hops almost 70% of his run up and has small sprint right at the end.

How the eff just he generate such decent speeds?

He will not be able to maintain this pace with this run up . I fear a upper body injury :(

Man, shows how much the Aussies were relying on that one guy - Smith! The others are utter nonsense

This is Bumrah's first wicket in Aus. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

There are many passengers in our team. Vijay Rahul Rahane and Rohit. Among them Rahul and Rahane should be replaced asap with Vihari and may be Jadeja as we don't have additional opening batsmen. Pujara should open

And people were asking for Rahane to be India's test captain. Why? Just because he is genial and Kohli is brash?

PS: I'm no fan of Kohli, the test captain especially his selection policies. However, do we have a choice?

I dont think so. His body must be used to his bowling mechanics by now and might have already developed counter-measures. I am sure he has been bowling for many years and will continue to due so till he retires at 36.

I for one like watching him bowl... :wa

Bumrah and Shami now need to bowl like proper spearheads. Need a 2-3 wicket burst from either of them

Never ever saw Australia batting with such poor runrate in my entire life, even before 1930 perhaps (at least at home! Even outside they try to play quickly even if the get bowled out!) It is India's series to lose really!

Excellent from the pacers after tea. Now to the lower order, all of whom can bat and have hurt us in the past.

Australia and Pakistan, two champion test teams struggling these days but it's okay. Har subah ki shaam hoti hai. They will be back.

Correct. Pandya is quite overrated in my opinion.

I mean he bowls at a decent pace, but doesnt seem threatening.
He looks like a decent bat, but doesnt do much.

He has potential, but is lacking in focus I guess.. he still can be an asset. Needs to get advice from experts and develop both skills.

Thats why it is better to watch both team bat before forming opinions.

On the other hand... Shubhan Gill and Agarwal in NZ chasing 309 in an ODI. I wish I could watch that live. I wanna watch Gill.. heard a lot about him!

Two of the worst batting lineups in the world makes for an interesting game.

Look at the ICC team rankings of test teams. Incidentally you yourself were singing a different tune yesterday telling us how bad the Indian batting was.

Hotstar app is showing it in India. I am sure there are official live streams available as well.

I like how Head has suddenly turned aggressive, He has the right approach in mind now. Could get the team closer to India's total a lot faster than deadblocking

Yea, as everyone says, getting the top order out quickly doesnt mean India can get the tail out quickly. Normally the tail does a lot more damage to Indian bowlers than the top order.

SO yes, Australia can still cross 300 from here.

Shami is not running in like he usually does . A 4 man attack with Shami is a big risk looking at his frequent injuries .

There is no doubt that India is the best touring Asian side in Australia

Yea, seems to me, his is struggling with his run up. India should jsut bowl the other 3 bowlers for now and try to get head or Cummins quickly. Shami sint lookin like he will take a wicket..

Will this follow the same fate as all Indian defeats in SENA this year? I hope this one is different and Indians actually take out the tail quickly.
