Stu Clark bowling some good legcutters there.

I as a watcher would have prefered Jaffer out or as OZGOD says Laxman in now at #3. Sehwag missed 8-10 some edges like that and got one

Yep, I'm fancying the Pats big time. They pretty much look unstoppable. Then again, when you're in the playoffs anything can happen - you have one bad game and your season is over. But the thing about the Pats is they have so many options - they can run or Brady can throw it to Moss each time and drive via the passing game. There's not really a weakness other than the fact that Brady's backup has had virtually no game time so if he's injured it will take a big part out of their game.

People will look back on their 16-0 season and realise that while they made it look easy at times, it was a bloody tough achievement. Some of the teams they flogged (Chicago got flogged 57-0, other teams lost by margins of 30+) are pretty good teams that made in the playoffs. Plus in the latter half of the season they weren't playing well at all and were still winning.

Plus, no more Indianapolis and no more Peyton Manning after the Chargers knocked them over last weekend. That was going to be the crunch match for NE.

You an NFL fan, are you Romali?

Am I an NFL FAN ? I grew up in Philadelphia, and a die hard Eagle fan I bleed and sweat green, matter of fact I am more passionate about the eagles than Indian Cricket.... If Pats win it, it will be something 16-0 and tyhe superbowl I dont think any team in history of NFL has done it...

I feel like Sehwag's going to get out soon, the way he's playing. He's just flailing away at anything, eventually one of those balls will catch an edge. How much damage will he do before he gets out though?

Well, we managed to mitigate the possible damage he could have caused. I feel more comfortable with him back in the sheds.

I just found a link. Anybody needs it? Its a sopcast link. You'll need to download and install sopcast.

Pelt strikes. That was a pretty good delivery, bounce and a bit of away swing. Jaffer gone for 16. 2/59.

Please do us a favour and take Dravid out quickly :P .

Shame about the Eagles this year. It was kind of like Donovan McNabb and the Seven Dwarfs, and they still nearly made the playoffs. Nearly beat NE too.

So OZ, have you changed your views about Lee as a Test match bowler???

and the crowd goes wild for Tait !!

first ball over 90 mph :O

Shaz and Waz were discussing during start of the game that India would do good if they can go to lunch with 2 wickets down max., let's hope India can do that from here...

Even though the Pats have been pretty epic this year, I would place Montana's 49ers of 1990 just ahead of them - that team was awesome. Montana, Rice, Craig, Taylor, Jones, Lott, Romanowski (though he was later found to be a druggo), plus Young as backup to Smokin Joe - I think they just shade the Brady Bunch. But the Brady Bunch are still young and will improve.

No. Do you recall he got flogged around for 14 runs in one of the earlier overs? Though I concede that he is bowling with more maturity since Pidge retired - not trying to go all out.

That was close - nearly a nick down the leg side off Tait's bowling.

If we can get Tendy out before lunch then I think the OZ will have won the first session. But India still in the box seat atm.

Have to credit the Packers for getting as far as they have so far. Shows you how good Favre is.

good start from india and a good fightback from aussies....it's time for tendulkar versus tait!

I just cant beleive the transformation that Lee has gone through since Pidgeon retired ... he's become the senior bowler and looks so much better with it.

I feel like India are on the rack at the moment - after a good start the runs have dried up and they've lost two quick wickets. One more wicket (preferably Tendy) will swing the day OZ's way and we may be able to run through them. But if India make it to lunch without losing another wicket they will be able to regroup. If they make it to lunch I think they will come out after lunch with heaps of confidence.

It's one of those "mini pivotal periods" of the session/day.

Rice & Montana we dont need to talk about, they are in a league of their own and probably will be there forever. But Roger Criag he was special, our own Westbrook has shown remarkable resemblence of Craig, Craig was the first and only person to have 1000 yrds recieving and 1000 yrds rushing in the same season.. Westbrook this season came close to it but couldnt make up the yrds on recieving. Anyway back to the cricket now watch India lose thier way 60/2 at the moment and not scoring any runs but scratching around I smell and big instant collapse on the way.....

Tait's 2nd over 150.9, 153.7, 148.4 154.7, 152.9, 154.4 (4 between gully and slip), 150 something
now I messed up above or there was a noball
Ind 68-2
Lee just bowled 152.5 (no ball)

Even more incredible, Rice played till he was 40+ and was still better than most of the WRs around the league. That guy had incredible vision.

Tendy nearly caugh, ball sails over the slip cordon for 4.

Actually, on replay it was well over the slips although it was mis-hit.

I have a terrible feeling that Tendy will go on and make another ton here.

Lunch, 2/74. India survive a testing spell from Lee and are in a decent position thus far.

Cricinfo says this:

23.3 Lee to Tendulkar, FOUR, outside off, flashed hard over the gully, a deliberate aerial shot which races away

is this the same shot u r talking about?

Magic has been disappointing in the last 3 innings. I know he got Sehwag's wicket but it wasn't a special ball.

Rajan,

That was deliberate, intentional. but it took edge of the bat. It is bit of both. Intentional and edgy.

No it wasn't :20:

An even session overall, however India morale victory, if there is any, would go to India! Everyone was expecting India to be 5 down or so by lunch@Perth.

Let's hope these two can hold the forte for another session. I would like to Laxman next than Ganguly... though it looks highly unlikely atm!

He severely lacks variety. But for his pace he is a very very ordinary bowler at Test level. But he is lucky he is playing for ozzies who can create pressure from other end and get you wickets. He might struggle on flat pitches in subcontinent at Test level. In one dayers he can induce edge with that line.

That worried me as well, since everyone was saying that day 2 and 3 would be best for batting! Ponting too hinted he would have bowled first... anyways going by the scheme of things- I'm not complaining so far .... :D

Because... it was reported this is the fastest pitch after a long time at Perth. I don't question this is not the fastest. This is fast i agree. Some of the balls just zipped. I think Sehwag really threw them off. I couldn't imagine just 2 slps at Perth in 12th over of opening day against a subcontinent team.

I thought It was a good ball, correct me If I am wrong, I got the feed running at that time, so just saw the last replay, It was the sudden bounce from the good length? that was the ball that got Sehwaq out right?

Australia slightly ahead i would say.
I think it is pretty even. Well if the score was 90+ then it would have been better. This will probably not be a high scoring match. Australia will was probably looking for 3 wickets each session and India looking for 300 at end of day

Dravid wasted some loose stuffs from Tait which is not how you bat on a pitch like this. You can get out any time. So make the most of the loose balls. Leaving every single ball go and getting out to a jaffer for almost nothing will get you nowhere.

Somehow I'm not much worried over overall score. 250-275 would be competitive. On good batting tracks so far, Australian batting has not yet been great by their standards. Hayden's absence would hurt them more...

You are right with this pitch. When Sehwag was playing (and missing) but with the ball coming to you and you connect there are runs. You have to take some advantage and control. But I have no idea what has happend to Dravid since he gave up captaincy (he was not at his best at that time either but better)

good stuff from India although Aussies showing what it takes to be champions..they're never out of the game.

In the first half, runs came everywhere.. now every single look like 10 runs.

That's difference Sehwag's presence can make. His presence at crease assures one things that run rate would be good! However, he requires a lot (and a lot) of luck to last for good amount of time in middle.

Unless India gets to 300 and above i wouldn't say India is slightly safe. India was 112 for 3 at Melbourne before crashing to 121 for 6. India should get rid of the habit of collapsing, loosing wickets in packets. Each top order pair should add atleast 50 runsand above.

Look what happened . As long as he was there No signs of Tait. Lee was taken off. That is the key. Never let the bowler full control of you.
