Australia (474 & 234) hands India (369 & 155) an 184-run defeat in the 4th Test to take a 2-1 lead in the 5-match series

On the basics of numbers ,views ,popurailty and quality of cricket being played.

Most competitive test series in World cricket at this moments. What's more you needs? Any other excuse left?

Ashes in on another level. History, and yes agree, competitiveness.

Australia have dominated in Australia, but England hold a strangle hold on Australia in England. Last Aussy victory in England will be over a Quarter of a century ago. 😃

What are you talking about .ashes is only competitive in england yet england didn't win any Ashes since 2015 home or away.

Well you can play with Zimbabwe that also will break records. You show anything related to cricket to indians they will watch it. People in Bangalore were doing parties for straight three days for winning wpl can you believe it?
So views, numbers don't make it bigger than ashes.
If you want to check the quality of cricket. Go and watch 2019 or 2023 ashes. You will know what quality cricket looks like.

Former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar suggested that captain Rohit Sharma should bat at No. 3 in the second innings of the ongoing 4th Test against Australia in Melbourne. He expressed this view while speaking to a local sports media outlet:

"Ideally, you would want KL Rahul back at the top because it's important to have an opening start. With the kind of form Rohit Sharma has been in, you are hoping against hope that he has another long innings under his belt. Rahul at the top restores a little more confidence, and it's been a successful opening pair in the series. That could happen and No.3 for Rohit may not be too different from batting at the top of the order."

"But the real dangerman apart from the top four are people like Pant, who is used to playing a great innings. As the Kookaburra ball gets soft, you have got three guys Australia will find it tough to get out. Jadeja, Reddy and Sundar. With the Indian batting running deep and with a soft Kookaburra ball, Australia will have to bowl really well to clean up the entire Indian batting lineup."

The highest successful Test run-chase at MCG is 332, which came exactly 96 years ago from Sunday, on December 29, 1928. England beat arch-rivals Australia by three wickets to win that encounter.

I don' think India will remotely think of hunting this down. They will try to bat out overs like they did at the SCG in 2021. But will this line up do? I doubt they do. It is a batting unit that is low in confidence. One guy who was confident lost his confidence from his captain after he dropped a couple of catches. I expect Jaiswal to fail, his mind is not quiet right after the run out.

Letting Lyon and Boland score all these runs is criminal.
What a shame. India could’ve been chasing 100 runs less in the final innings.

Too many chase here for India.

India will lose this by 150 runs. Our top order and oldies will crumble under pressure.

Pitch seems to have e picked up pace all of a sudden. Not sluggish anymore. Starc and Cummins will enjoy this.

Rohit will play the innings of his life and India will secure yet another famous win against Australia. Australians are kittens vs India

Rohit should be playing legends league. His reflex will suit that league not international. He is 2 days late against every shot.

5 wickets for Bumrah. IND need 340 runs to win. IND should push for a win here. There is no point of a draw with their overrate.

Thanks australia for providing chance to complete bumrah 5for and reducing 4 overs for India to stay alive...Indian batsmen should control their poking worm and make bowlers to bowl straight..go for a draw ..

Pre-lunch session will be an indication where the match will head. Having said that this Indian side has more than dozen collapses in recent times at various stages of an innings. So they could cruise trhough to tea and collapse in the last session. Or collapse upfront or collapse post lunch session. I don't trust these guys to save this test.

Have you see. How the ball was bouncing and carry to the keeper? Pitch has picked up lots of pace.

Indian batsmen will have to jump a lot to play.

Rohit loves pace and bounce in the wicket. Watch him hook and pull Starc, Cummins for six at MCG.

Jaiswal is not really very keen on conversing with Rohit. Rohit's behavior with Jaiswal after he dropped the catch was not correct.

Aussie Commies desperately want a wicket now. Even it’s a non eventful delivery, they make it sound like it was a wicket taking ball.

Unfortunately Starc is bowling every ball like a jaffa.

He is in full rhythm. Not a great sign for us.

Jaiswal is in a brainfade mode. He can leave the ball very well. Not sure why he is playing like Kohli
Not sure why he’s trying to drive the ball. This is where the partner at the other end needs to step in and calm him down, just like KL did in the second innings in Perth.
