Horrendous fielding though, how many have we dropped so far? Usman is no good at short leg, Hughes should be in there. And it matters less if Hughes gets one belted in to him.

I've always wondered why, since Boon, Australia haven't taken the short-leg position seriously, and really just thrown the youngsters in there to do the dirty work.

It's a specialist position. You can't afford to put the youngest guy in the side to do it.

Cook and Bell are a good example of how you can train specifically for this, and England have been reaping good rewards from that time investment.
