I mean it could just as well be that he doesn't want to play in no.3 because he doesn't like briyani.

My point is, of all the possible variables, how do you come up with the idea that it's because of city politics?

Idealy as 1 of our Pak Passioner said earlier, that batsman should come from karachi, bowllers from punjab and hard hitting batsman from N.W.F.P. it will be a nice mix if tried and persisted with..
 
why would the international pak team risk putting players in positions they dont belong just because of what city they are from? that would just be putting danger to the pak lineup and making us lose on purpose. obviously noone wants that,so who cares whos from karachi and where hes playing..

Honestly I would omit him for everlastingly because there are thousands and thousands of Pakistani's who are begging for one chance to represent Pakistan. And when these current players get that luck to be an ambassador of Pakistan, they show nakhra.

No one is bigger than a nation.

Yaar the best example is of Misbah-ul-Haq, he was called from Bangladesh as a replacement for Younis Khan (speciallist No.3 ) but he played at No. 6 position and let Faisal play at No. 3 (who is the player of No. 6 position).

Just recall the debut of Fawad Alam (Malik refused to open so Younis had the only choice of playing Fawad as an opener) who is a middle order batsman in domestic cricket.

Same goes for Asim Kamal when he was performing consistantly at No.6 but he was tried at No. 3 where he failed and he was dumped....

Now lets decide your self brother...

I didn't watch the match. Please tell me how good was Sarfraz Ahmad with his gloves. Are there some sparks in him for showing better performance than Kami in this regards?
 
I dont know if team is based on city politics but i know one thing for sure Chaand Babu doesnt deserve to be in the team.

Okay so 3 players from Karachi when Karachiites make up a small fraction of the population about 8%.
 
Some people on this forum really need to get a life. Why do you have differences in you heads? I have never heard anybody saying such stuff other then one part of Pakistan. Its very embarrassing to me i don't know about ur mentality.

Punjab (pakistan) population: 81,845,433


does it make sense to you NOW kamrano why theres more punjab players than karachi? because theres almost 10x more punjab population in pakistan than karachi, so its more likely for the pak team to have more players from punjab than karachi...

To be honest, a lot of punjabi players have also been treated unfairly.
Why doesn't Wahab Riaz get a call up, why has Rao Iftikhar been excluded from the ODI squad announced today, why has saeed ajmal been dropped for tests despite being very good for us recently whilst Kaneria only gets a 5 wicket haul after giving away 500 runs?

Can you answer these questions?

When it comes to matters of selection dude, there are 10 to the 10 variables so please don't bring up city politics. That is a history of our nation that is best put aside forever.

doesnt matter. my point still stands, there 8x more punjab people in pakistan than karachi, sothats why there happens to be more players from punjab. theres more chance finding good players in a population of 80 million than of 11million... make sense?
 
People like kamranO - need to sort their head out so we can call ourselves Pakistani's not Punjabi's or Sindhi's without debating.

It may be that our Punjabi Brothers could have done some Injustice. But I beg you to understand the following too:

1. If Mohajir brothers would have been in majority and in Control of things, then for surely they would have also preferred players from Karachi (we should keep a hi-low percentage of 10-15% for this disease)

2. If Sindhi brothers would have been incharge of things, again they would have favoured 10% more for other Sindhi players.

3. Same goes for all other ethnic Groups like Pushtoons, Baluchies, Kashmiries etc.

* It is not a Punjabi disease, but it is a "Human Disease".

* And best way to remove this disease is to introduce some type of MERIT System, where individuals have little to say but the SYSTEM has to say much.

* Secondly, some such people should become incharge of things, who could look above this ethnic problems and consider themselves only as Pakistanies.

Brother I think Rao Iftikhar has been selected for the ODI and T20 team. He deserves this selection I agree as he has performed when he is given a chance. I think our currrent players are the root cause of this all city politics etc, etc, If PCB drop the players like Malik, Misbah, Kamran Akmal, more than half of the city politics will diminish as has Rashid Latif suggested also. These 3 players are the centre of player power and politics within the team.
 
Haurtiz looks the most likely guy to pick up a wicket here .......

ok i agreed 70% with you but see india have more punjab player in the team but they gave chance to every province even a small city. Even in punjab they dont player from Multan or Gujjran wala but this elite punjabis has occupied more

Wasim and Waqar also had a rivalry and Waqar was the ring leader in the revolt against Wasim. But they are both punjabi.

So what I'm saying is that stop blaming everything bad at city politics. It is convenient for you to sit on your laptop and make those claims but they are baseless because nobody knows the truth and to make those claims inflicts salt on our nations wounds.

Mahajirs need to get rid of their victim mentality.
