Tahir has incentive alright, the longer he bats means the longer it is till he has to bowl again.

Faf has shown zero weaknesses so far. Good technique, moves well, hits em well, keeps concentration. He is a lot better at batting than bowling though lol

Why do these coms have to keep repeating 'this shot shows how good a pitch it still is'

This will be a FAFFULOUS ton by FAF if he can pull it off

Oh well, Faf ... u r a legend! Well batted on debut. Hope you force yourself into the team. Dunno what Rudolph is doing there.

Oh no! FAF faffs a shot and is taken by Pup. All out 388.

OZ starting next innings 162 in front. Bat till tea tomorrow and try to put another couple hundred I reckon.

lol so another number one team bites the dust.

India - two years.
England - one year.
South Africa - one series.

:)))

Tahir being treated like a nets bowler. 14 off his first over

They look strong, they are aggressive, they are talented but these SAs are mentally screwed. You push them to the wall and they will meekly surrender. Smith has been such a defensive captain all through his career. Aussies scored quickly to make a match out of it since its really flat and now in a very good position.

This Test is gone for the saffers, saffers will fall in a heap tomorrow. Time for them to prepare for Perth.

Kind of shows how far we've regressed, not even being able to draw the series against them. We got pretty close at Lord's in the end but were outplayed on the whole.

maybe you were always mediocre its just that you were running in to ordinary sides that made you look good.

Impossible for some people to give credit where it's due, never mind though.

Anyway, can Tahir get a wicket? This is a sub-plot in itself.

Top over from Flabby. A pair for Quiney.

Kleinveldt may or may not play at Perth depending on availability of other bowlers, but I will say that he has potential as a fast-medium seamer. He just needs to take things more seriously and lose a few stones.

You don't get a bad side after losing one test match (even this match isn't over yet). Criticism isn't valid. If anything Australian team should be praised the way they have played so far.

3-1 vs Pakistan side full of cheats and one and half batsmen

1-0 vs home track bully's SL

3-1 vs Aus side, credit where its due your best win

4-0 vs Indian full of over the hill batsman and without their only good fast bowler.

Apart from tat Aus series you were up against sides that had a lot going against them

How crap is Quiney to get a pair in Adelaide :)))

How did Quiney get selected then, what policy is this? :khawaja :racist :P

But seriously there must be a better player or two coming out of Aussie.
Then again...hopefully not :))

Pattinson out? Thought you rated him.

And, is this the end of Ponting? :(

Pattinson suffered a side strain today, knowing our young bowlers that means he wont play again until February.

This is the last Test Ponting will play at Adelaide, IMO.

Perhaps this is Ricky's last home series.

Or even his last...series? :|

Quiney was a stop gap replacement for Watto because he was in solid form and has good numbers over the past couple of years.

Neither Hughes or Khawaja had done enough, at the time, to be selected. Usman i think would be next in line now, has made some runs in domestic.

Concur, has talent.

Quiney's a shorter formats player. Only got picked due to a good season in shield and experienced and all that. Supposed to be a short term fix gone wrong

Yeah we were beaten comprehensively in that series by SA, everyone from SA got hundreds but the last game was a good hint that we have that fighting spirit we showed through 2009-2011. SA played brilliantly and got what they deserved which is No.1.

In both the Aus inns, they were down to 40/3 and 55/3 but SA lost hope once Clarke and Huss started to attack them. Poor captaincy from Smith played a minor role.

Cleanweld has potential, I think nerves got the better of him in Gabba and 1st innings

Veldt bowled decent in first innings IMO, better than the stats say anyway.
