What a batting, three reverse sweep in a row in test match to get 100.

AB what a player , has all kinds of shots .......

Imagine a SA line up with AB and Pieterson in the middle order :114:

ABd hundred & saf 513/5 with 36 overs to go . Will they give Australia 10 overs to bat today ?

De Villiers gets to his 100 . What a talented batsman he is , 3 reverse sweeps in 3 balls to get to his 100 .

Always gets his 100 at a S/R between 75-80 , Great Champion .

lol. comment at cricket.org : somebody please tell Du Plessis that there is no need to save this test .... 2 runs in 20 balls.

529/5 & 32 overs left . If Saf bat for 15 overs & get close to 600,they should ask Australia to bat out 15 overs today . Any one thinks this could be a draw btw ?

Great to see AB back with a 100 but sad to see Amla miss out on a well deserved double. SA are well on top. Hope they declare soon. I think given the way the wicket is playing now even the SA attack will need all the time they can get. Won't be that easy to bowl out Aus on this flat deck me thinks. 550 max lead I say.

I would declare tonight, bowl the OZ out tomorrow, and have Monday off.

I reckon they'll set us 600 now, and have a go tonight. If Amla was still in might have kept going but they are five down now, and Faffy dont score fast.

SA need to do what Aus least want them to do. That is to make them bat for 20 or so overs today. One or two wickets today will be worth way more than 100 or so meaningless runs imo.

Agree, if we can chase 600, 650 wont matter. And we wont.

Seems they agree, Saffers are going for their shots here. And given our top order, conceivable we could be four down at stumps today.

:4 AB also teeing off. Declaration soon hopefully.

This wicket has flattened out big time. Aus lasting 2 days on this track is not too far fetched imo.

I have been watching Aussies bat in Test cricket for a long long time and I dont see any way it is possible. If we bat for two days straight on this pitch we will score more than 600, because when our batters get in they score quickly. Batting time is alien to these guys, Hussey and Cowan are the only ones who even know how to do it.

It will depend on what mood Steyn is in I reckon. I don't see any others troubling Aus bats on this placid track.

get a lead of 600 and play Aussies some overs today....Johnson into the attack

Wickets were falling like a pack of cards during the 1st innings of both the teams so howcome this pitch has become so flat so soon ?

150 for AB, sublime batting. Faffy Bradman continuing as he does with his Test average of 300 or whatever.

Even though the pitch is flat I predict Aus to be all out between 200-250 , that will be the pressure of chasing for Australia .

Terrible bowling, although the pitch is placid now. None of the bowlers can stick to their line.

AB last 100 runs in 63 balls.

Well if you're batting like this may as well pile up 700, it really won't make a difference lol.

Wow lead is up to 600 now didn't even realise.

I am sure glad this guy has blunted his batting by wicketkeeping, he is ridiculously skilled.

it is always hard to bat in 4th innings...pressure will be on Aussie batsmen....I can see them crumbling in front of Steyn & co.

Aus don't give up that easy even when they are down and out. I expect them to fight all the way.

Wooooo we finally got a wicket!! Into the tail now, we are back in the game! :D

Finally got Faffy out

Lead by 600 now; i told you guys, and with 25 overs in the day the should make it to 670+ lead

600/5 & 25 overs left less 2 for change over .should declare after 5 overs setting say 630 in 198 overs :)

This is not same Australian team of Ponting and Waugh...they have warner and Cowan not Langer and Hayden.

Its only going to take ten more overs eh

Yea mate, what I'm interested in is seeing how Clarke responds to this, how he prepares the team to come out in the last innings. It's going to be a big challenge and I want to see how he approaches it.

Starc with bounce and swing, gets a wicket. That swing would have been handy, oh about 500 runs ago.
