I have a feeling Cowan will get out before stumps

There is a lot more in the game with the Aus coach, Mickey Arthur having coached most of the Saffers previously. Bit of something to prove from Saffers vs their old coach.

its too classy, the type of cricket that is being displayed in this series, is pure class, wish our broadcast was half as classy as there's and i don't know what it is, but the Australian atmosphere, crowd roaring in, just makes cricket watchable, even though its test cricket.

wondering what Aussies thinking right now...should they bat for 2 days and try to save the match....should they attack....there must be turmoil in their minds..

"Clarke will of course be getting a double hundred, so that only leaves 40 odd each from the rest of the team." That's an easy calculation, Geoff

:))

Test cricket is the pinnacle in Australia. There's a reason the Australian Test cricket captain is one of the most revered positions in Australia, sport or otherwise.

Stumps, 0/40. We'll take it. 592 runs to get in 6 sessions.

592 needed in 180 overs : 296 /day at rr of 3.29/over . Looking at the pitch,what are your predictions ?

Flat as a pancake. Aus will not give an inch. SA will have to really earn this one.

Fun fact from cricinfo :)

The Mitchells took all the wickets. Only the third time that all the wickets of a Test innings have fallen to the same first name.

If they dont get 6 wickets tomorrow, i am afraid it will be another dull draw .

Australia doesn't have batsmen who can play a successful tuk tuk innings to draw the match. It isn't their mentality and that's how they think. They world attack and either they will loose by a good 300-250 runs or will chase the target down.

i think Cowan & Hussey can do tuk tuk .btw, what did you infer from Australia's body language today ?somehow i got a feeling they arent gonna play freely ......

I guess it's fair to assume that if Australia last the entire two days :D they will chase the target down. 290 runs a day is doable even for NZ so the required r.r should not be a problem. Clarke needs to get another 200 :jf

Yeah it's going to be tough going for the bowlers it looks like. Should have given themselves a few more overs today to try and roll one over at least. SA missed a trick imo.

yup they did & Smith should have declared at 600 [ in the process would have got 8-9 more overs to bowl today]

They're not going to block for two days. I think they will have a go. A draw is as good as a loss in terms of regaining the No.1 ranking. The most likely outcome will be a loss by the evening session tomorrow or the morning session on Monday. But they will have a go I reckon.

You know it's bad when if you imagine our openers put on a 200 stand and then get out... it still doesn't look like we can get the rest of the runs.

Well this pitch is a bouncy road so theoretically the chase is possible. It's sad to see the WACA pitch come to this state, I remember days when WACA would resemble an earthquake with cracks on day 4 & 5.

I must be a sucker for punishment.

Went to days 2 and 3 and will be skipping work to see Pontings last innings tomorrow.

Amla and De Villiers were well worth the admittance fee though.

In first 135 overs of match , 20 wickets fell & then we all saw what happened . What kind of pitches are these that they turn into batting paradise on day 3 ,4 & 5 ?

Some disgraceful bowling helped and Amla was in ridiculous touch.
Only played one poor shot all day.

buddy,i know where you are coming from but if Saf bowl decently,do you think they can get 10 wickets in next 90 overs ? i mean a surface which caused 20 wickets to fall in 128 overs for 388 runs has suddenly yielded 609 runs in next 125 overs for loss of ten wickets . it aint just shoddy bowling imo & the surface has surely become more docile ....

Great innings by AB today, accelerated at key moments. His 50 came up at a SR of 50, 100 came up at a SR of 75 and finished with a SR of 90.

The Aussies have enough time left in the match to get the total. A run rate of just over 3 and 2 full days left. Ricky also has time to get a fair well century under the belt.

I think S.A will win the game by at least 300 runs.

South Africa will take 10 wickets easily.

The WACA has gotten more docile but South Africa will win the game tomorrow.

i think SA will really have to work hard. they better pray they don't get any injuries to their attack, otherwise it will be hard under the hot Perth sun and Australia will have a great chance. When Morkel went over on his ankle I feared the worst.

This match is far from over, getting Clarke and Hussey out I think will be the key on a flattening wicket.

Methinks it will be over by tea tomorrow. Scoreboard pressure amounts to something and Aussies play aggressive cricket. There will be a couple of flashy 50s but it will be over tomorrow either by tea or in the last session. Ricky unfortunately will fail after a couple of kickass boundaries.

South Africa Took a lead of total 632 , and Australia are 40/0 at the end of 3rd day.Warner 29* and Cowan 9*.

Punter has never scored a triple before. I think he will be over the moon with a 50 :))

Had a good laugh at all the people criticizing Smith as conservative for not declaring his 2nd innings on day 3.

Australia's negative tactics of preparing roads with bounce have not cost them the series but it will end in humiliation.......something like 250-300 run defeat

i hope this policy of preparing flat wickets cost them dearly .

I won't give this mach to the south africans just yet, Australia is capable of getting the target.

Match will over tomorrow..
