From the little I saw of shaheens, Shamyl looks like a great prospect look forward to seeing him play.

Sameer minhas should eventually make the squad in a yr or so

Isn't Saim good in ODI? He has good records in ODI I believe.

Why do people feel the need to do this? Have you even paid attention to what he has done this domestic season? He has been incredible in FC and List A. He's been an identified player for a long time who has played in U19 and even in PJL.

It's not some parchi pick. He deserves his selection.
 
Why imam is no longer in consideration for ODIS? Him and Fakhar were our best opening pair once.

To be fair, Shamyl is a talented player. Probably one of their better prospects in that age group.

Only thing that can be said is it's a bit early to bring him in as these guys (Maaz, Shamyl, Sameer Minhas) should be groomed further before taking the next step.

Yes, Shamyl looks a talented player but failed against England lion , not ready for international cricket yet. Probably he is being fast tracked due to his influenfial father , TV anchor Talat Hussain.
 
Who is old enough to remember when dropped players would play first class cricket, iron out flaws, perform strongly domestically and then be recalled?

Nowadays, they travel, model for few products and before you know it, they are back in the team.

Atleast he has been performing in the domestics. Azam Khan was one who was just there because of his father.
Imran Farhat performed at FC level but was persistently picked in all 3 formats and got a pretty big run
 
These selectors are the biggest joke on the planet... they dropped Haseeb after 1 off game...brought in a guy who was no where near the shaheens side even and they brought him into national side having a pathetic record in domestic cricket..Ghazi ghouri

They had Mehran Mumtaz and Arafat in the pipeline but somehow Saad Masood gets into the side without ay expereince... just 3 list a games for him while the other 2 have already established themsleves upto some extent in domestic circuit and have stats to back it up as well... Saad Masood Joke selection.

Failed in T20s, drop them in ODIs. This board is a joke. They did the same with Rizwan earlier when we failed in the Champions Trophy. Dropped him from T20s when the format was ODIs. Who's gonna play the 2027 WC if not Babar and Saim?

What kind of people are running the show? Odi is the strongest format of saim ayub , even babar azam s best in odis.

We just dropped our best ODI batter and our brightest new ODI batting talent for being non performers in T20s.

Babar should have been dropped from T20 World Cup squad instead, not from his favorite format.

Why drop Saim whose best format is ODIs.

Do you really think they are dropped or giving them a little break after not performing in the world T20....... Its odd to select all younger players at once but that's the selectors they do these one off things after the team doesn't perform well in a tournament.... Soon Saim Babar and others will come back.

One of the best bowlers in our domestic circuit.

His figures speak for themselves

Far superior bowler to Mirza and Faheem, has better figures than Rauf and Naseem in the last 2 years too but he is not part of a flashy PSL Clique or is not a supporter of Noon League. The two compulsory requirements to be in the National Team

Bangladesh will be favourites at home in their own conditions. Pakistan will struggle massively against their spin attack and slow wickets. This is where those players who are fit to play Test Cricket will make themselves known or those with First Class credentials to their name.

T20 Hype Boys will be exposed
 
With ODI WC next year, Fakhar should have been the first choice as an opener.

If he finds his form, then you have a solid opening duo of Fakhar and Farhan.

This is Imam Ul haq all over again.

He failed with pakistan A. His List A and FC doesnt matter if he fails with Pakistan A. He still needs to play another season of domestic, than play for Pakistan A, and only if performs for Pakistan A, than bring him national team.

Guy is getting a head start due to Talat Hussain.

He failed with Pakistan A. If he sucked their, he wont do anything with National Team. Unless and until he performs well for Pakistan A, he shouldnt be in the national team.
 
Babar has been struggling for a long time. A break for him is necessary. How he uses that break is up to him

Rohail and haseebullah have been next in line but suddenly out of picture

Sufyan and usama mir were regulars and suddenly saad masood comes in. Saad is not a better bowler than usama.

Abbas afridi is idk where.

Irfan khan, Nafay, Hassan Nawaz should be groomed for lower order.

He shouldn't be part of the team for the T20 World Cup as his game isn't ideal for that format. Now I think he will be playing in the National T20 Cup as well. I wonder if he still wants to improve his T20 game and carry on playing this format for the national side for the next few years. Ideally, he should take retirement from T20I cricket and focus mainly on preparing himself for the 2027 ODI World Cup.

I think there might be a method to this madness by PCB..

All the new players have been drafted in from Shaheens.

They've looked at their best for world cup next year, benched a few, either rest or temporary exclusion and brought in replacements to test the water.

Shamyl has come in for Saim

Maaz for Babar

Saad Masood for M Nawaz like for like all rounder or indeed next in line.

Ghouri is here to give Riz a nudge or may be not?

Rest are all the same...

Yes. Babar and Saim are good for ODI format. Dropping them from ODI is a bit weird.

I don't think they are dropped but rested. ODI is best format for Babar and Saim so they are undropable. :kp
 
WK Saad Baig & Haseebullah ignored for Ghazi Ghouri, if not wrong Saad score 1000 runs in domestic. BTW what happened to Khawaja Nafay ???

They are all rubbish, but haseebullah is still the better option. Khawja Nafay is not a keeper. He may get away with it in t20 at times but not in odis.

On Financial penalty, there is no official statement on it

On wicket keeping, many of the keepers have been in team, but they have not settled yet.

Babar Azam in current form is droppable in every format. Lacks confidence and bats timidly most of the time. He was never a match-winner, and I think he's well past his prime now. Failed against South Africa in tests as well.
 
If Saim is not picked than just means they are giving a break to these players after t20s.

There is no possibility of Pcb dropping Saim in Odis. He has been amazing. Averages 47 at 100 str rate with 3 centuries in 17 matches.
 
Bangladesh will be hurting after being thrown out of T20 World Cup. Pakistan have to play well or else game over for them on slow low black pitches of Mirpur.

Babar saim are rested... Fakhar has an injury... Shamyl has better stats than shahzaib, shazaib is struggling with strike rate.

Shahzaib and Shamyl both have played equal matches and yes Shamyl has better SR. But have watched both batting in U-19, Shahzaib has power to hit, if u have seen his innings vs India.
