"Ball tampering when Wasim & I did it, later same people called it reverse-swing" : Waqar Younis

Hope the dopey cameramen keep there cameras on Eng fielders.. ball shouldn’t be moving around this early !!

I am not ok with shining the ball on the back under the shirt. Should be done infront of the umpires.
Its amazing how pakistan have been reverse swung 2 series in a row at home now. Waiting for qudrat.

Someone please remind him he was caught twice while …. You know what!

Is it possible to add some type of sensor to a ball that would detect tempering? FIFA World Cup is currently using balls with sensors.

Tendulkar was also caught digging his little fingers into the ball and so was dravid.
Zipgate, sandpaper. Everyone does it.

English bowlers have wiped the floor with the Pakistani pacers as far as reverse swing is concerned. Even Starc and Cummins reversed the ball way more effectively in comparison to the Pakistani bowlers.

Extremely alarming situation.

It’s because this current team and for a number of years now, the team doesn’t give two hoots about reverse swing. They would give two hoots if they cared about winning, they don’t give two hoots about that either.

All they do is play for their places, nothing else.

That’s the alarming situation

How would that be remotely feasible given cricket balls are disposable and needed frequently

The amount of reverse swing the English pacers, Australian pacers have got in comparison to their Pakistani counter parts exposes the myth that the kookaburra ball is unsuitable for Pakistani conditions.

Pakistani pace bowlers have a serious skill deficit.

Why do you want to do that? I think cricket had it right to begin with. Let bowlers do what they want unless it’s obvious they are using a foreign object. If they do, punish otherwise let it go. If you want to get specific about certain things maybe a requirement to have finger nails a certain length. If they want to do the one bounce on the square, let them.

People need to come to terms that reverse swing is here to stay and when the ball is reversing it’s a fascinating passage of play in a test match. In the bore flat deck series Vs the Aussies earlier this year the only exciting part of the series was when the ball was reversing.

Reverse swing should be encouraged. This whinged Batsmen oriented thinking needs to stop. Bring back balance to the game and enjoy it.

Is it not possible to do reverse swing without tampering with ball?

I hope Shami now understands what the Pakistani bowlers have had to go through when they have to listen to a similar criticism about their reverse swing.

Muhammad Shami said during an interview:

"If Pakistan bowlers do swing & reverse swing then its a skill, if we do then, we are tampering with ball & chip on the ball, they are never happy with us and never be."
