What's new

Bangladesh beat England by 108 runs in the 2nd Test, square series 1-1

Even Bangladesh can't lose this from here. Brilliant performance. They should have won the first test too.

Really?

Or you mean batting?

As a talented cricketer over all, my boss Junaids said it yesterday & he has kept him as one of the key figure in upcoming Indian Series.

I actually thought, Indians play better spinners in their gali cricket ......

Mehdi MoS?

I told it before this Series that against Poms, we should debut Miraj in ODI as well. Akram motu doesn't visit PP for sure..........

This is a historic occasion people. Happy to be here.

Bangladesh deserves it. They lost it in the first test else this would have been a damn whitewash.

He enjoys seekh kebab and fuchka at Darun Kebab, or busy having Biryani at Royal Hut

In Hindu mythology, who is the rain Goddess?

Poms need to crack lots of coconut there.

Shakib today - 41 runs and 4 wickets so far

Good all-round performance from the best all-rounder in the world

7 overs to take a single wicket. We should wrap it up this evening. Who knows woakes and Finn will learn batting like Bradman overnight

Need to finish it today. Poms are costing over $100K every day for their security.

Congratz Bangladesh they should have won 1st match as well but never the less great achievement. They shall be a force at home in coming years against non Asian sides.

Congratulations to BD fans. Fought hard all series.

Two things to work on to improve the Tests side are the batting collapses issue and settling on a pace attack.

Congratulations Bangladesh fans!

Historic achievement for the team. Brilliant future ahead if both the board and fans show the same interest in test cricket.

This is a story of near misses for us. Could have been 2-1 in ODI & 2-0 in Test, but could have been 0-3 in ODI as well. These are part of learning curve - one tight Test teaches you more than one IPL season.

I am sure, we'll have a much better show in NZ tour.

Another backfoot camper.

If there is rough outside off.....let's see ;-)

Root doesn't end up in no man's land too often. Yesterday here in the UK they was showing his strike points vs spin. He was well back when he needed too and we'll foreward when required.

Root just needs to concentrate more and be patient. He has no major technical issues vs spin imo

Agree.

He doesn't land in no man's land but he shouldn't camp on the backfoot so often.

I still remember how Root played Jaddu on Lord's day 5 pitch where there was turn. Splendid batting but it was all in backfoot. Not ideal way to play spin. Chances of a mistake are higher. He may come forward and strike the ball but don't think he does that often.

Still is a huge danger man.

It showed that Bangladesh hadn't played much test cricket in both these tests when both their captain and batsmen looked to be in odi mode. Need to play lot more, if Australia had toured I think they would've lost too.

He camps on back foot because he liked playing that drive through the offside. Even off fast bowlers he does.

Wouldn't be suprised to see him make some technical adjustment for India series. Against Pakistan he had problem with off stump line vs left arm bowlers. Than he adjusted it and scored 254.

Could something similar happen vs India?:))) :yk2

Very well played Bangladesh and perhaps your new star spinner will help galvanise you as Murali did for the Sri Lankan's

We hope so too. Especial thanks to England management and team for touring. We didn't play ODIs or tests in almost one year. Yes, zero tests and ODIs. Adjusting the formats were the most difficult task. That long break and any team would be rusty.

Well fought matches. Truly enjoyed the series.

Thanks Buddy, England saved us from Isolation, thanks to your team and Cook for coming to Bangladesh. Cook is a fine leader and a great human being.

Well played the Deshis,The Poms are 10% of the side they were 3-4 years ago, they should have lost the first test as well

Amazing scenes congrats BD very happy for y'all! :36:

Been playing some solid cricket last year or so. Deserves this win, every bit of it. The first one is always the hardest. Brilliant for BD cricket and cricket in general. Onwards and upwards!

Props to Cook and co as well for an entertaining and highly competitive series. They could have easily said no to the tour and that would have been it. But they didn't. Hats off.

Naa man I don't necessarily gloat. 4th Inning chases are always tricky. :misbah shot out a much more formidable England side in 2012 by bowling these Angrez out for a score of 72 in the final innings.

This was an expected result to be honest.

No denying that chasing 273 on a spinning wicket is difficult.

On green wickets you can still score some run through edging. On a turner you can't predict the bounce or turn at times.

What I found hilarious was some BD fans saying 275 is par.

I don't think BD are ready to play tests outside of their backyard, they still should invite folks over..

Time for Aussies to man up.. Also SA series would be cracker.

Contribution from Cook / Root is overrated for England and same goes for SA and ABDV

Stokes, Bairstow, Wokes and Moeen are just as important for England

What's common between England and Pakistan? Both are the most inconsistent team.

Congratulations to Bangladesh after winning the first test against non minnows (excluding WI & Zimbabwe) and first against England.

I expect India winning the Test series 4-0 against England, matches getting over on 3rd or 4th day max.

Pakistan has been on a role son, get out of here with that rubbish inconsistency nonsense.

England should call of their tour to India right now. When can't beat Bangladesh the Indians will spank them hard. They'll be preparing spinning tracks for sure and probably be playing three off them in Tests. England is in big trouble.

Pakistan is winning matches since Mickey Arthur took over the coach role. You probably need to go back and check the stats, Pakistan has always been the most inconsistent team across all formats.
