For a opening game of a tournament that is making a comeback of sorts, i expected a big crowd to turn up. IMHO, It makes for not great viewing when the game of cricket played in front of empty stands (especially in T20 format).

Hopefully there will be more crowd as the game/tournament progresses.

Two big names were hanged last night [12:55 am]

Not saying that is the reason, but could be why some people are staying back. Hartal [strike] called for tomorrow too.

Seems like the reason.

I'd expect a few riots like a few years ago

You are right. That (bolded part) might explain the lower turnout (just going through the news on that matter).

Could be but nothing major expected. Opposition has been broken down to many small [and weak] factions.

Looks like a poor attendance. Should be lot more, there is no major festival going on, no big movie releasing and no other tourney going on. plus weather is pleasent too.

This toss is the worse possible outcome for Pakistani fans since Amir is playing in the team that is batting first and Misbah is playing in the team that is bowling first.

Lol cricinfo has Anamul and Enamul mixed up. Sad, no one knows them Bangladeshi players.

So an hour from now it's going to be Mohammad Amir bowling to Misbah-ul-Haq.

Forget Mohammad Hafeez. It's on like Donkey Kong!

(If any of you are wondering, it's Ice Cube who coined that phrase.)

Salaam.

Has Cricinfo messed it up? Is it Anamul Haque the batsman, or Enamul Haque Jnr the bowler who came in at one down?

Agree, crowd doesn't seem impressive. But may be more crowd in 2nd game.

Love Misbah but I am waiting for Amir vs Soumya. That would be something!

pleasant weather? the sun is dangerous and the match began at 2pm in the afternoon, IPL matches start at 4 pm, huge difference.

Guess what i am doing on my laptop? I didn't manage tickets because they were sold of 3 days back

you do realize now that they will be facing one another in the evening?

This Muhammad al Amin bowling currently doesn't even have his age n Cricinfo. Bowling drivel at the moment.

Shakib needs to get Saqlain and Jayed to bowl from the two ends.

Poor captaincy as usual.

In the local channel I am watching - top notch.

Even better than IPL [in regards to commentary where every shothere isn't described as DLF maximum....]

Picture quality is quite good.
Cameraworks been poor.

Comparision of commentary is like comparing who is bigger loser. IPL hindi commentary is bad but BPL commentary is no better.

BTW its not DLF maximum any more, i think its pepsi maximum or soething

In between few reckless shots now n then, Anamul plays some wonderful attacking strokes.

He seems to have got pretty good technique/shots at his arsenal but needs a cool head to use it wisely, though.

Most Pakistanis are watching this to see Aamer's progress, if he wasnt playing nobody from Pakistan would have cared for today's match and it is a farce because watching Aamer without speed guns would be same as watching him in FBT20

True but how many international players play FBT20?

he is a hack i tell you, like a Finch.

He at best can be a poor man's Dhawan. He has no foot movement what-soever. His speciality is Sehwag like hand eye coordination

Initially, yes. After that there has been claims that he is too 'selfish' and plays for himself and not the team.

There was also accusation of his inability to rotate strike (ala Ahmed Shehzad) regularly.

Not the best 'situation' in the country right now. Also its Dhakas traffic. You could miss a complete T20 match if you get caught up in traffic; and I am not even kidding.

there are 2 matches, most of the crowd is only interested in the 2nd match beacuse Dhaka is playing. I had interest in the first match because my home team is playing but the tickets have already been sold out.

You dont expect much crowd 2pm on a working day

His kind of technique will be very effective on Subcontinent tracks (especially in Limited overs cricket)

Same here...maybe would see a better crowd for the second match
