When Australia were demolishing England in every Ashes series, I noticed that the Aussies seemed to get the bulk of the marginal decisions in their favour.

Then in 2005 when England played much better and put Australia under pressure, it was the English who were getting more of the marginal decisions awarded to them. And suddenly the Australian fans started crying foul!

Putting it another way: you make you own luck.

Very true. And now that you have quite a strong team of South Africans, look forward many accusations of white bias etc when the rub of the green goes your way.... ;-)

Jamie Siddons- Good improvement in game plan and strategy

The way Tamim played in the first innings (Innings of great courage, patience responsibility and restraint) and two classic fightbacks – Rahim and Nayeem in the first innings and Rahim and Junaed in the second innings and Junaed’s radical transformation in his second outing is clearly indicative of Jamie’s input in team game plan and strategy.

He must have worked hard with Junaed at nets to overcome his technical flaws that has been ailing him and hindering his progress.

It is important that one always plays with proper game plan and strategy. That comes from Coach or Coach and Captain. In this case Head Coach Jamie Siddons.

A good beginning is half done.

One hopes Jamie will have a long discussion with his charges with regards to game pan for 5th day before start of paly today. Tigers still have 5 wickets intact.

It is okay if you are out to good balls . But one has to put a price to his wicket and bat out courageously, responsibly with a proper game plan and strategy .

I am happy that though a bit belated , Jamie ‘s game plan and strategy seems now been manifested by the look of approach, attitude application of his charges.

One hope it grows from strength to strength.

Good Job Jamie Siddons!

Will Bangladesh be saved by the rain?

I belive that they just might.

Weather is okay. The game will commence on time. New ball is expected to be taken in 5 overs.

Come on Bangladesh!
do it to the england what they did to SA and Aus (i.e not getting out of the final day to draw!)

OK, its 4am...and I am going to spend the next 7 hours watching this & posting updates.

Only kidding.

Goodnight.....

Great knock from Siddique - lets hope he carries on and gets a double ton

Bangladesh 265/5

65 Overs remain in the day - great resistance shown by Bangladesh so far, would be amazing if they can hold on BUT i very much doubt it - C'mon Bangladesh

GA yaar its 5.20am my eyes are closing after 8 hours at work but got a feeling Eng will suffer before they finish the job off and I want to witness this suffering.

Way to go Mushfiq & Junaed!

Lunch

BD continues its fight with Junaed 106 and Mushfiq 91 battling it out.

Score 276/5

Partnership(6th wicket) : 167 runs.

Awesome job!

still got 354 balls minimum. i'm a bit annoyed but not genuinely worried yet. come on...

My God if Bangladesh actually pulls this off then they are wayyyyy better than Pak at the moment in my books...

P.S. No Chance they will pull it off though...

If only Saqib clicked today but overall I am really impressed with Bang they are def improving...

they are on the verge of embarrassing England but I still don't think they are anywhere near good enough to go on and WIN test matches, totally different kettle of fish to what they're doing here

Cracking delivery by Swann to get rid of Siddique.

Athers is complaining about the pitch, saying it's too batsman-friendly. However it's offered at least some help for the spinners right from the start. England are struggling to get these last few wickets due to selection issues, not pitch issues IMO. Four bowlers does not make for a balanced Test team. Not unless at least two of those bowlers are all-time greats like Australia or West Indies had at their disposal. Adil Rashid isn't even in the squad, but he'd have fancied bowling on this pitch, I think.

Good fightback Bangles!

Bowled Swanny (again). Where would we be without him?

Bangladesh again go down to a competative defeat. Sadly it was poor cricket on 1st two days which cost them atleast a draw.

Ultimately Bangla need to compete for pretty much the whole game to get postive results. They cant afford bad sessions with bat or ball.

Junaid and Rahim (Both inns) deserve praise for their application.
