Why kisn';t Sehwag declaring against "Ordinary Side" with a lead close to 300.

Or he thinks his "Extra-Ordinary Bowlers" won't be able to bowl the "Ordinary Side" under 300 in 4th Innings? :13:
Sehwag is not Ponting even though our bowling is extra-ordinary.... :yk

The Yuvi played another test masterclass.

Brilliant catch by Ruben. Sehwag declare before Bangla gets a chance to take 20 wickets in this match...... :P

When is Sehwag going to declare? India 394 for 8
This is enough now!!!!!!!

413/8 ...............common declare now..........
And he declares............

this is the difference between ponting and others!

Shewag scared to declare even after 300 against bangla! he declares at 413!! shows the amount of trust he has on his bowlers!

hopefully bangla can draw this somehow and ice the indians

There is no way Bangladesh are going to draw this - too many overs to survive. It would be amazing if they could survive BUT expecting them to survive over a 100 overs? Nah, not gonna happen

Shows the amount of trust Ponting had in Pak batsmen. ;-)

Bangladesh 14/1

Imrul Kayes c †Karthik b Khan 1 (6b 0x4 0x6) SR: 16.66

how come zaheer aunty became such a good bowler?

or is it because of the silly bangla his bowling looks good?

it is when you read zaheer going for 20 in 3 overs :D :D
Dont add your own masala ..

Zaheer gave 20 runs in 4 overs.. not in 3 overs.

I see my man the YUVI again dominant in a pressure situation.

Way too many runs for the 'Desh to get here.....

India should win this game with ease from here!

Let's not write off Bangladesh here...

Remember they almost chased 500 against Sri Lanka...

Win, Lose or Draw, Bangladesh have enhanced their reputation no ends and have picked up a few fans along the way as well

To win they have to play exceptionally well and fast too............
Only 75 overs will be possible because of fog & bad light , so they have to score @ more than 4.5 runs per over to win...........
It will be an interesting days play tomorrow , even a draw will be very very credible

I like this BD team. Their bowling is good. The two seamers Shahadat Hossain, Rubel Hossain bowled well for the conditions. Rubel was fast, but sometimes erratic. Shakib Al Hasan as always is a class.
He doesn't have too many delieveries, but the subtle variations he makes is just very good.

They have two good batsmen in Mohammad Ashraful and Shakib Al Hasan. Tamim and others have to improve for the test matches. Some time back I felt that they were just happy to shock or to come close to shocking stronger opponents. Under Shakib I hope the attitude changes.

Someone needs to step up and score a century. Others need to chip in if we want a draw. There will be very little fog tomorrow (5th day). So a minimum of 80-85 overs can be bowled. My heart says we can do this. The captain says he will go for a win and play positively. In reality I don't think it would happen. No matter what, we will be entertained tomorrow for sure.
Requiring another 348 runs to win with eight wickets in hand, Bangladesh need to bat out, weather permitting, six hours for a draw. However, captain Shakib Al Hasan has said they will go for the win. "We are looking to bat all day and we are looking to win," he said.

It might sound over-ambitious, but thinking about winning might help the hosts at least save the Test. At times, batting for a draw can be as difficult, if not more, as trying to win. Whether some of the batsmen have the technical nous and the mindset to save a Test is unsure, and as the cliché goes, playing "positively" might be a better option.

Playing for a draw will play right in to the Indians hand. So attacking in this surface is the right thing to do. But they have to minimize the risk. Unlike most of the subcontinent pitches this one has not cracked yet. Still good for batting. Application and leaving the odd ones would be the key.

what most people probably don't realize is that the chittagong pitch behaves backwards...i.e 4th innings batting is easier than 1st innings.

So its akin to a standard match with India batting first and putting up 450 on a flat track, BD with whatever they get here (hopefully at least 350 if not 415 to win), and then India 243 all out in the 3rd innings, with BD 242 all out in the 4th.

for this reason, i think that BD should be able to get at least 325 or 350, and if they play to their marks should even win it or get very very close.

at some point, mishra will have to bowl, and he seems neither able to take wickets or check the runs.

What a stupid dismissal that was!
bangladesh should be thrown out of test cricket.. they really suck
India getting points for winning against bangla is not fair

Well Bangladesh have made a pretty good fist of this game against the number 1 team. This, for a change, is not an effort we can blast them for.
Hope there are more to come.

And India don't get points (or very many for this) as they beat Bangladesh last time around.

All hail King Abdullah...he has spoken :yk

210/7 (60.0 ov)

Bangladesh require another 205 runs with 3 wickets remaining
Current partnership 40 runs, 7.1 overs, RR: 5.58

Check out the cup...better than the flower vase Australia had...

I really wish Sachin, Dravid, Laxman and Zaheer sits out of the next Test and allow some of the younger guys to take over. Why to risk injuries to the main players over 30 at the brink of the Test series against South Africa ? Add to that they'd get some rest as well.

He is the NO1 BATSMAN IN THE WORLD, er against bangladesh that is :)) !!

haha yuvraj drops a catch.

The man for a pressure situation, my YUVI.

2 wickets left with 157 runs to get against the top team in the world. Commendable effort from the 'Desh.

Now they need to back up and play well in the next game or everyone will jump right back off the horse.....

Too bad he has been the best batsman against Australia in the last 20 years, bar none. BTW, how much did Inzi average against them in the last decade ? Let me remember .... ah, got it !! It's 0.5 in 6 innings :)))

P.S. Why are you hell bent on losing whatever little prestige you have left in this forum ? You have been pwned for the millionth time during your short stay on PP. Any person with even a little bit of prestige would have kept his mouth shut after going through what you have in such a short span.

Come on guys.............last wicket................ may the force be with you.......... :D

Lol.... you cant deny sachin never misses any tests against bangers so that he can spice up his stats can you?

Lol Sreesanth has been smashed out of this test by the bangers... atleast they can take that from this match

if you get a ton against india in your early stages of your career then your career will Blossom! Come on Mushfiqur Rahim go for it...

follow hayden, a flower etc etc

Exactly, you need to accept one of those facts that you are probably the only person who has the ability to stay active after being pwned million times in a matter for about a month. Any other person would have tried acting a bit sensible after such epic humiliation.

:))) :))) Did a 12 year old child (accepted to be by most posters here on PP) just call another poster a 'KID' ?

This has got to be the most hilarious thing lately to have happened on PP.

Well Played Bangla Tigers.

I hope at presentation ceremony someone asks Sehwag what he thinks of Bangla side now.

:))) :))) :)))

Current Test points -

India - 124

S.A - 120

I hope we do get another point after today's victory. However, it may as well be that we get 1 more point after (and if) we win the next Test as well.

Bangla had surrendered long before. When they still had 3 wickets, Rahim was worried more about his ton and playing risky shots to score.

Good for him that he got his ton, and congratulations.

But if as a team they want to improve in test cricket they need to play test cricket differently.

Bangla have talent but really lack temperament. Some loose & unnecessary shots got the batsmen out. There was definite chance of drawing this match. On we go to the 2nd one.

Congrats India..Sehwag must feel happy

Exactly !!, see you have also scored 253 runs. All against India.

I don't think I need to try. Asking majority of the posters opinion here will give us the same response as mine. Anyone who has been here for a while will agree with me, including a lot of Pakistani posters as well.

For my Indian friends I present this link on an Aussie forum where the question was asked - Watson or Sehwag? :D

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=668065

hmmmm... very difficult choice to be frank. Watson is improving day by day and looks like a great prospect for next 10 years. He is still young for me and would take some time to prove.

but can't afford to loose a opener like Sehwag. All 3 formats of the game this guy have already proved himself. He may fail few matches but he is more and more consistent these days.

BTW how is BigFooty as a cricket forum. A quick glance and it looks good. Do you post there often RA?

Nope. It looks OK but gets wearing after a while.

On a forum you need a critical mass of posters to keep it interesting, Bigfooty does not have enough cricket posters to keep itself current.

However it can be very funny at times.
