Looks like cricinfo's stream got taken down/stopped working or is extremely slow LOL

Maybe they should get high speed internet.

Ashraful is an experienced campaigner and sledging won't work on him. You just have to let him throw his wicket away :)

LOL I laughed!

Poor guy, this is prob. 5th or 6th time they have called him again ...

to drop him again!!

It's funny but in their top 8, Ashraful is the guy I'm least worried about.

And it's okay he knows he won't be dropped for more than one series before he gets recalled again. Such is his quality.

Rahim and Shakib are the real deal.

There you go cricketworm, Ashraful gone without being sledged.

As he trods off he doesn't look even slightly worried.

Bangla boys stand no chance against pace.

Why the hell we played khukri instead of Cheema in the ODIs

Yeh, oh well. What can we do! It's home condition played these many tests still no-one seems to be improving!

Rahim and Shakib are the real deal.

Quite literally they are the Dravid and Tendulkar (India's pre Sewagh/Gambhir days), the Misbah and Younis (current days), the Sanga and Jaya, and the Jay and Veeru of Bangladesh. But they bat too far down the order sadly due to their subcontinent mentality.

rameez wants shakib to bat at number 3

rameez he their premier spinner not that he is not qualified enough

on occasions rameez makes no sense at all

CricInfo's commentary:

One wonders what must be going through the England bowlers' minds when they see Tamim batting this poorly. He flayed them to all corners last summer. Here's Rahim now. Three slips, gully and short leg.

Pakistani players should look after themselves, while fielding on this sub standard out filed

I think he was pointing to his 'greatest allrounder ever' status which includes batting. Personally, I think Shakib has the same problem our legends had back in the day i.e. Playing the new ball :yk ...He will never come up the order!

Wow man, hope Aizaz Cheema bowls with the same demonic verve against the Angrayzi. :cheema

hehe

Rahim seriously batted far too down the order. He should have been batting at 3. If I am not mistaking he used to come around 5th or 6th for long period of time ... Also, Mahmuduallah bats too down too.

He has a point. One of the reasons that Bangladesh are so terrible is due to their defensive attitude. Their best players take no responsibility unfortunately. Without a doubt, Shakib is their best batsman but he bats at number 6. Imagine Sanga, Tendulkar, Ponting, Inzi, Kallis, Lara batting at number 6 in their prime.

Secondly they are playing a batsman who will be batting at number 8 (Nasir Hussain). I'm sorry but test cricket is a game for specialists so if you are a bits and pieces cricketer you really shouldn't be playing this format. This is something Bangladesh do not seem to understand which is why they have batsmen batting at 6-8 and bits and pieces cricketers like Ashraful coming in early.

I was just about to type I am off to watch Hughes nicks one ... and he did even before I thought about it.

Their defensive mentality is a joke. Ashraful is more of a number 6 batsman whereas Mamhadullah looked solid in the third odi coming in at number 3. The mentality really indicates that they really don't expect to win.

Nasir Hussain scored a 100 in the first ODI but today he will be batting at number 8. Imagine an international cricket team playing a genuine batsman at number 8 in a test match.

also I think there's a problem technically! [holding the bat a bit high ala :razzaq]

Cheema shouuld soften him up with a bouncer or two, then bowl a slower one.... :ajmal

The technical problems are an individual problem that needs to be dealt at an individual level. The overall mentality of the team is so defensive that it's a disgrace.

Oh man! I was too late for Ashraful's innings

Ken from CricInfo:

Ken: "Why do they continue to select Ashraful, with a batting average of 23? ODI is even worse at 22 at only a strike rate of 70. 20/20 is worse again at 18, but at a healthy strike rate of 141."

:shakib

Gul and Cheema bowling at 140+ and giving a mu tor jawab to all Indians bigging up Umesh Yadav and Varun Aaron.

I don't think it's all mentality. It's the BIGGEST tactical blunder by Bangla think tank. And then, they aren't even admitting the mistake and want to make changes! It's just painful ...

Mohammed Akram (?) called Saeed Ajmal Saeed Anwar... nostalgia :anwar

result before stumps guys?

I think :misbah should declare before we start our innings so we can go directly to the chase. seriously

:ajmal is my captain in super selector so more wickets he gets. Better for me :sachin I need to win this time

I really don't know who or what it is. I find it is their mentality. I feel they have braced themselves for defeat even before the game begins. With an Aussie coach you'd expect them to be a bit more positive with their cricket.

As for Mushy well, i-came, i-saw, i-done.
