This guy is a walking wicket against any decent spinner. The match against Bangladesh is a big match for any potential chance to semi and we cannot afford to risk it by playing Fakhar against Sakib and Miraz.

Your opinion please!!!
 
Yeah he shouldn't. But who will replace him.

Imam and babar will be our openers and haris at 3 but what will the rest of the lineup look like?

Replace Imad and Fakhar with Hasnain and another hack Asif Ali.
 
This is where we should have selected Rizwan/Abid in place of Malik/Asif.

2.Imam Ul Haq
3.Babar Azam
4.Mohammad Hafeez
5.Haris Sohail
6.Sarfaraz Ahmed
7.Imad Wasim
 
Knowing our dumb management he will play and fail and it may cost us the game.
 
Let him play. No point changing him. Give him the rest of matches and ask him to show why he shouldn’t be dropped
 
even if he scored nothing but ducks id keep him going.

If we have to chase anything over 270 , we are completely dependent on him.

Back your players, especially those that earnt that backing
 
No one to replace him. All we can do is to back him since he is a hit or miss guy.

Also, Fakhar has been dismissed by Mujeeb twice on zero.

We cannot afford another duck from him in a crucial match.
Post World Cup I would rather take a player who can consistently score around 30-40 in every matches.
 
Calm down. For the WC he stays. After that we shall see if he will be dropped or not .
 
Yes and replace him with Mohammed Sharma and Ali Warner sitting on the bench.

Pakistan fans need to understand these attacking openers will frustrate from time to time, but they need to be backed.

Zaman averages 40 at SR of 92 vs top 5 sides in ODIs. Tell me which of our long list of previous openers tried since 2000 achieved this ?
 
He will play a major role if we somehow want to go to the semis.
 
Pakistan is one match away from World Cup semi final and experts think it's time to experiment. Like it or not, you're stuck with Fakhar.
 
Persist with him. There is no point in experimenting at this stage without a proper a replacement.
 
Even though he hasn’t been performing. We have no one to replace him in the squad. Asif Ali is another hack and he’s not going to do any better than Fakhar

The selection committee and team management have failed miserably with the selection for this World Cup. No decent replacement for Hafeez or Fakhar or even Sarfraz as keeper if he were to get injured
 
Our options are to replace Fakhar with another hack who is not even an opener in domestic or to disturb the lineup and make our best batsman open the innings.
 
We serious needs to improve a lot against Bangladesh if we really have any realistic chance to go to semi.
 
if the match turns out anywhere close to AFG match today, I would be very woried for PAK. Afg has a stupid captain, BD on the other hand doesn't.
 
I don't understand how people are underestimating pak coz of this.
Same happened to ind vs afg. It happens
 
Expect another very close and intense game, I wouldn't bet against the tigers on throwing a spanner in the works
 
Bat first, score 300+ and we should win. It's Lords, so fairly flat with a bit of swing/bounce in it.
 
If Bdesh bowls first then my money would be on Bdeshis to chase successfully. Likewise for Pakistan. Whosoever bats first looses.
 
Replace Fakhar with another hack Asif Ali. Asif cannot do anything worse than what Fakhar is doing . This one match rest to Fakhar might help him to rethink his game. If Asif can provide pakistan quick fire start then 300 would be very easy to make

Truth be told I had also lost hope but after all this is Pakistan Cricket.
 
Fakhar is our best opener in last 10-15 years. Its ridiculous to even think of dropping him. He will score 50+ against Bangladesh.
 
Dont feel like watching Cricket anymore. Cricket is a proven corrupted sport. I expect countless decisions to against BD in both of their last games.
 
Fakhar isn't getting dropped nor should he...

Hafeez is just frustrating...continually gives his wicket away...but him as a bowling option and the lack of replacements on the bench mean he will keep his place...

To you too . But I honestly thought today we'd lose when there were 10 overs left. Imad couldn't get his bat to the ball.

Its good for us. Even if Eng win both their remaining matches, we still be having a chance as NZ on the course of losing today and then defeat against Eng will mean their NRR will drop significantly. Knowing this we can go hard and full throttle against BD and better our RR than NZ. Both on 11 points and we with better RR qualify.

Noooo... unless NZ lose by 200/250 runs you will not go past them in RR.
Also they are looking good for now in this chase against Aus.

If NZ lose both by a considerable margin and we win handsomely against Bd, it is quite possible.
 
Bangladesh team is playing some really good cricket. Pak needs to be at its best to win the match.

Our World Cup is over, Pakistan will thrash us. Maximum limit for BD is to win 3 matches in World Cups. Pakistan vs India semis coming up. Congrats on the win today :amla
 
We can't drop any from the XI now - it is far too risky at this stage of the competition. We need to hope they come good and give them confidence.

Fakhar has been abysmal, no question but Imam and Hafeez are also walking wickets. Its the best we've taken for the tournament and we need to stick with them.

Same team plays, Fakhar need to attack spin. Imam needs far, far too defensive with his strokes and puts pressure on the other batters. He needs to find a way to score runs after ten overs.

I would say that the team that plays better on the day will win but certainly wouldn’t call Pakistan favourites in that game going by the current tournament or their recent ODI performances including recent head 2 heads.
 
We need to come hard on them. No tuk Tuk, we should attack Shakib from the go. We mustn’t let me get comfortable. I hope Fakher goes ballistic on him

It's not opinion. Bookies have been as favourites.

It is a massive massive match, time for Bangladesh to prove they can play better cricket than Pakistan under pressure. I know in last few years they've had a lot of success but this is crunch time.

I feel Bangladesh have the bottle to win this, let's see.

My apologies. Bookies have them as favourites so Pakistan must be bound to win. Let’s revisit this thread at the end of the match on the 5th again please? Good luck, kind sir.
 
Enough with fakhar, either drop him as lower order hitter of the old ball or drop him, We can't have 2 walking wickets in the team. Bring in Asif Ali in place of Hafeez surely he can do no worse and Haris sat out for few games and came back well maybe Asif will too. Give Hasnain a game to see what he is made of otherwise there was no point selecting him if he wont be given even 1 game. Why throw him in like a semi final or worse a final newbie on debut will either come good or go bad then wont be seen again for few years when it wasnt his fault. Play this lineup and hope for the best.

In Babar and Imam they have been opening anyway as Fakhar has been a walking wicket.
Hafeez may be king of spin but as of late both him and Malik are failing at their roles. So get rid of Hafeez he only bowls 2 overs, we can find a part timer to bowl them 2 if needed.
Play Hasnain see what he brings if its just pace we'll know atleast he may take a wicket or 2 and then if he comes good carry on with him could be our x-factor bowler who knows.

Bnagladesh are going to kill us with their superior spin attack anyway so may as well just go in with players who are kind of performing that is Imam Babar Haris and Imad.

Just like Fakhar went ballistic today and against New Zealand?
We couldn't attack afghan spinners and buy a run and you expect this team to attack a in form all rounder in a must win game?
Just hope the loss against Bangladesh isnt of a good margin.

If todays game proved something then its Pakistan are still mentally weak even against the weakest opposition, they have no confidence no strategy and like to scrape by wins.
This game is not going to be as easy for both it could go either way and judging by how our team is performing of late with these wins by scraping by just and by sitting like ducks on the wicket. Bangladesh are favourites..
 
Fakhar must play. Replacing him with Asif will be a lol worthy blunder. I want Asif to replace Shadab. Why not play Imad as a specialist spinner? It will lengthen the batting order as well.
 
Lets all hope England loses tomorrow or against NZ, otherwise it will be a dead rubber.
 
Drop fakhar and give Abid ali a go as fakhar has been terrible, he’s played some really stupid shots as well.

Imam needs a good scholding and taught not to play such stupid shots. He gifted his wicket away against nabi.

Abid isnt in the squad. Get Asif Ali back surely cannot do any worse. But drop him down the order as lower hitter. Open with Babar and Imam
