Thing is if we bat first we should go all out. Doesn't matter if we get all out for 150 in the process. At least show that we were trying. Win or loss does not matter if we won't try.
If we bat second then try to play normal cricket and win the match.

Going for impossible is not trying!!! It’s just madness!!!

What fun it will be to witness such a score board?

According to Geo news reporters Mickey Arthur has accepted that Pakistan is out of the tournament and the team will play for pride. Wahab who has a fractured finger will be rested and Hasnain will play instead, Shoaib Malik is lobbying very hard to get a farewell game and his efforts are succeeding

Those three are our top order, how can you have 2 out when Fakhar's the only batsman whose been dismissed and Babar and Imam are still not out?

Good try though. :yk

Farewell game? Does Malik have no shame. He's been an average player and he wants a farewell game. Does he not realise we've just been knocked out of the World Cup. He should be ashamed of his own poor performance and instead he wants a farewell game.

Shoaib Malik gets farewell game and he bats at no. 3 and gets out without scoring.

Go for scenario
Fill your XI with extra batting
Fakhar
Asif
Babar
Haris
Sarfraz
Malik
Hafeez
Hassan
Amir
Shaheen
Hasnain
(Imam, imad, shadab, wahab Left out from squad )

Fakhar has been burden with scoring fast to make up for imams strike rate!
Give fakhar a partner who can carry his own weight, then see the results!

That's just an illusion man. Have you seen any improvement in Fakhar's batting in the last 2 years? He might still play a blinder here and there but even that was missing in this WC. Imam and Fakhar have different roles and they are supposed to be professionals.

Should we hire a new head coach after the world cup?I definitely think so as the likes of mickey arthur, azhar mahmood and grant flower needs to go.We really need a strong batting coach and a strict and stern head coach to make this team better. Most of the losses at home and away have been due to tactical blunders in which the head coach plus captain was directly responsible a strict foreign head coach is needed to turn things around for this team.

Even 11 Kohli/Padiya/Buttlar/Bairstow/Roy/Russel/Starc/Boult/Wood/Maxwell/Guptill cannot even score 500 against weak Bangladesh attack.

Feel sad for Pakistan players now - carrying on practice knowing fully well that their time is up in this tournament

I think it’s about time that Bangladesh repay the favour for 1999, let’s fix this match :butt

It will be interested to see our post World Cup strategy. Will it be business as usual or will there be well thought-out chopping and changing. Replacing Sarfraz after World Cup seems imminent but who will replace him is a bigger worry for me. If they bring Rizwan than we all know that things wouldn't be moving forward at all. If we bring Abid Ali, how long will he last before the old age catches up with him? Will we go down the Akmal rout again? Will we put our faith on Rohail considering the fact that PCB is grooming him as captain? If so, can we trust in his ability as a wicketkeeper/batman/captain knowing that he was a total flop in the last U-19 World Cup?

Hopefully we will not be over excited/depressed and loose by huge margin. 5th place is more than good enough for our current status (We lost 11 matches in a row before the 2nd WC match).

Keep only Babar, Amir, Haris, Hasnain, Shaheen and get rid all of them. Bring some players from U19 and domestic set up. We may fail 1 year but we will rise.
Get rid of selectors and team managements.
Get a good Australian coach or Haturi of SL if he gets sacked, good fast bowling coach, foreign professional modern day batting coach, fielding coach, fitness trainer and let the preparation begin.

Sarfraz said in the pre-match press conference Pakistan will try to score 400+...

:)))

Will fans accept a defeat to Bangladesh if Pakistan goes all out in an attempt to qualify for semis?

If all the batsmen and players go all out in their attempts to hit fours and sixes but end up getting dismissed in the process.

Will the fans be happy that the team died trying to qualify?

Personally i don't see any value in the Pak team winning or losing in a dead rubber now.

What is the point? Loosing will cause more anger among fans. Its useless to play like mad men and get defeated easily. We had 7 games to cover the first defeat but we failed miserably.

Pakistan's batting order for the match against Bangladesh

Well as they say all is not lost till there is hope. And hope however narrow is still hope, and there is no harm in trying and doing things slightly through unconventional route when it is quite clear that things are beyond means the regular way.

So here is the thing - A best case scenario, PCT wins the toss and elects to bat. The target to get to 500 minimum in 50 overs and then get BL all out for under 185. While PCT is more than capable of achieving the later, but scoring 500 sounds humongous even for a team such as England.

So what does Pakistan do - Well shuffle the batting order, and shuffle big time.

Here is my thought process -

1. Fakhar - Plays his natural game which is bat at 130 SR and look to bat the 50 overs. Should be the anchor man for this game, and not Babar. His presence through the 50 overs is absolutely key since he has tendency to find boundaries without much risk.

2. Asif Ali - Should go help for leather from ball 1. He has the game to do it against the likes of trash such as Mortoza.

3. Hasan Ali - Play this game as a pinch hitter. Again go help for leather. Can hit well against pacers as against spin. So he will bat at no. 3 in case of an early fall of wicket when pacers are in operation.

4. Wahab Riaz - Second pinch hitter. He will probably come in when spinners are in operation. Can hit the sixes and hit them big irrespective of ground dimensions. Shall come in when spinners are in operation and can smash likes of Shakib and co ... into outer space.

5. Hafiz- Time for Hafiz to bring his power game. He is at his best when he plays the attacking game.

6. Imad Wasim - The man of the moment and the one who won Pakistan the lost game against Afghanistan through a stunning display of late order hitting. No reason why he cannot replicate this against BL.

7. Harris- A very under rate batsman but someone who can score at a decent clip as was against SA.

8. Malik (Captain) - Well this may sound unpopular. But this guy can strike effortless against spinners and wobbly dobblers and is a true minnow basher. Every chance he will bring his A game here. Also this will well be his farewell game and PCB should officially announce this. Hence every reason he would want to succeed and redeem what has happened so far for him in the tournament.

9. Shahdab - Can strike the ball clean as well. Still work in progress but can do a good job if the platform is set for him.

10. Aamir - Can strike if required. Has a 25 ball 50 to his credit in an England game not too long ago.

11. Babar (wk) - Time to finish the innings if required with some cross batted heaves from Babar. Should strike from ball 1 irrespective of outcome. He will be more of a floater if early wickets fall but is the least effective striker amongst all, hence deserving no. 11 for this game.

Twelfth man - Sarfaraz. Will replace Malik in semi finals.

Hope this line up should be able to give Pakistan best chance to get to 500. Rest is destiny.

Too much time on your hands.

They should be practicing hitting slog sixes not strokes

Wouldn't be surprised if they let Malik play the last game since we're virtually out of the tournament.

I would rather we get bowled out for 0 trying to hit out rather than tuk tukking to a mediocre score

Won't happen probably but I'd love it if they went with Fakhar-Asif opening and going all out on the batting.

And for the bowlers, if the goal is to score tons of runs and get them out very quick, there is no point to having Imad in the lineup. Go with 4 pacers and Shadab.

How you can still trust on fakhar and asif ali? Both are hacks. No technique no foot work. Both are walking wickets.

BD will increase its winning streak over Pakistan in world cups. It will be 2 -0 tommorow. By next 5 world cups BD will lead 7 nil

This never ending world cup is still in league phase lol. Started way back in May. Now July. Yawn.

As usual under-estimation of a good team is going on lol BD is not team CHINA to score 500 runs against. It needs a solid cricket to beat them even with normal approach.

No matter what is the result, Basit Ali will tell us after the match that Bangladesh conspired to exclude Pakistan from the semi final.:cobra

I think Pakistan will play this team

Fakhar
Babar
Asif
Hafeez
Haris
Malik
Sarfraz
Imad
Wahab
Amir
Shaheen

Yes it is good for Bangladesh that teams are underrating us. Despite winning last 4 ODI matches against Pakistan and having a decent run in this world cup you would think people be more concerned whether they even get a win

Just give it a rest about those 4 ODI wins. Despite those 4 ODI loss against BD, Pakistan managed to win a Champions Trophy. They will still be considered as favorite against us even if we beat them 10 straight times because we have not achieved such levels yet where we will be considered the favorite. You do that by increasing your rankings. Bangladesh is still 7th ranked team, and if we lose we could win up finishing on 8th in the World Cup. It won't look that decent of a run now will it?

I won’t mind going all out at all

Who cares if we lose trying
