Yeah, we seen his technique in 50+ ODIs. His technique was so good that in the NZ series before the WC that all commentators were ripping apart his technique against pace and spin.

Everyone is saying this. But no matter how insignificant the match, having the "winning habbit" is extremely important and something that lacks in our team right now. Even if its a tour match, we shouldnt be trying to lose it on purpose.

Are you referring to me? Because Shafiq was getting LBW and bowled by the likes of Devcich and Henry. Looked utterly clueless and his technique was exposed because of the gap between bat and pad and his head falling over to his right. Even commentators were saying his technique is poor.

The only explanation for Azhar bowling Haris is because he isn't some saint as people make him out to be. HE clearly wants to jeopardise Haris and make him seem not like an AR. I mean who the hell would bowl him in a death?! Trust me Azhar is not a nice person, in the Pentagular he was shouting and abusing his team-mates, bowling ahead of front-line bowlers even when he was getting carted for 8+RPO. And in this match he bowled 1 over, hit for 12 runs and didn't bowl again.

This 'World class technique' of Shafiq is still a mystery to me when most of his wickets in his entire career has been 'LBW' s and keeper catches :sanga

Good technique is subjective especially is shorter formats where runs have to be scored quickly.

All that matters is having enough understanding and the ability to preserve your wicket and score runs at the same time.

Shafiq has gaping holes in his technique in my opinion anyways.

Lol you're delusional if you think Pakistan fast bowling is still the same standard as the old days. Now you're stuck with trundlers like Rahat and Ehsan Adil. Wahab had one good tournament let's see if he can continue in the subcontinent or whether he goes back to being the same old run-leaking machine. Taskin is young and improving.

When did anyone rip apart his technique? The only thing Asad does at times (usually when out of touch) is tentatively closing the face of his bat. Anyone denying he has good technique instantly loses all credibility.

He play spin and swing well. Solid defence, good footwork. Defends with soft hands. Can leave/duck. Plays the short ball well. And also has all the shots. If that's not good technique, then of knows what is.
 
Basically we have only 2 quality bowlers. Ajmal with new action is gone and Yasir is not ODI bowler. Don't know what coming up for us in this series. In ODI &T20, BD is clear favorite and test we are slightly ahead than them, then again we lost to Zimbabwe recently.

Good technique is not being able to block, because night watchmen can do that. Good technique is being able to score off good balls comfortably, something which he cannot do.

It's funny how the blame goes to Waqar, the coach, instantly. It's the players job to play. Waqar isn't the one getting smashed by Sohag Gazi out there. Before it was MIsbah and Now Waqar

Who do people refer to as a player with potential in other countries: Someone whose age is in early 20s and has played 10, 15 games or less.
Who do Pakistanis refer to as a player with potential: A 29 year old who has played more than 50 games.

Junaid Khan listed as left-arm fast by Cricinfo while Rubel Hossain listed as right-arm medium fast. :facepalm:

I've rarely seen any other Pakistani batsman getting bowled between his pad and bat so many times. Asad Shafiq has really poor technique against fast bowlers.
 
Shafique must be having some techniques as people here are advocating...but it means nothing if he cant score runs and what chances people are talking about, he already got more than enough chances and the fact is he is as useless as his so called techniques

Waqar and Misbah's partnership has completely destroyed Pakistan cricket making us officially a minnow team. Misbah was given 4 years. What did he improve in the team?What revolution did he brought? Where did he left this team?by blaming youngsters and saying they have attitude problems does he think he is done his job?Isn't he accountable for Pakistan's pathetic performance under his tenure? and Waqar who was doing all the experiments and was also in favor of dropping certain players and appointing his favorite captain, shouldn't he start giving us results?isn't about time we make him accountable too?
 
Fact is I rate bowlers that did well in Pentagular and Haier Gold Cup because they were batting paradises. Likes of Umer Amin, Shafiq, Azhar and Jamshed were scoring in Pentagular but Junaid and Zafar bowled beautifully, and that is why their team won the competition.

Also the Haier Gold Cup was more competitive and things were a bit more balanced.

Asad Technique Shafiq is the best thing that has ever happened to Pak cricket.

Why he gets bowled or lbw in the 37th over while playing a defensive shot is another matter. He still has the best technique.

He's been bowled 10 times in his entire ODI career, and most of them weren't between bat and pad, so I fail to see where you're coming from.
 
What a match sad its not on tv anyhow its warm up so no issues hope everyone got a chance.
