It's a rip off from the movie "The Fan".



P.S.: I don't mind remakes from the Hollywood in Bollywood (for the SRK fans:asif).
 
Even a remotely different movie and people get excited about SRK and Salman movies shows how much fan following these guys actually enjoy,going to skip this one as well.

Zubaan's trailer looked good although the editing looks shabby and will be the downfall of the movie along with Sarah Jane.
 
Kapoor and Sons since 1921 - 9/10 not sure if the film is inspired or anything but its an almost ideal family movie with great narration- Fawad,Rishi,Ratna Pathak all 3 have acted very well but the real winner is the direction and script.

Hopefully Fawad keeps doing only such movies which have meaty roles has given a great performance.

Kapoor and Sons was a beautiful movie. Hats off to Fawad for accepting such a role knowing the certain idiots in the PakistanI society. A must watch!

Watched the movie last night. Absolutely beautiful movie. Rishi kapoor rocked it like usual along with ratna pathak and rajat. Fawad and Alia were excellent as well. Sidharth was better but everybody else was much better

But the real hero of the movie is the director shakun.

Love how bollywood has changed family movies from absolute melodrama to subtle movies dealing with lot of real issues. This movie is probably the most grounded of karan johars production.

I watched the trailer and i was REALLY impressed. Not a fan of srk at all but he really seems to have done a good job here. The character of Gaurav will earn him an award .

But it might be inspired by THE FAN as you mentioned. But only in terms of the obsessed fan getting irked by his ideal. The rest they have made different.

Was thinking the same sadly Prem Ratan Dhan Payo still comes but i don't mind if we have a Kapoor and Sons for every Prem Ratan.

Dil Dhakne do was also another decent dysfunctional family movie but Kapoor and Sons had the right dialogues,script,background music and phenomenal acting i do wish the music was better though but tbh only one song comes in foreground,others are basically background.

Yup on social networking sites he is getting a lot of backlash for playing that role, people are calling it Indian conspiracy as well which is shocking considering he had a bigger role than Siddharth with much more scope to perform.Impressive actor held his own against Rishi Kapoor and Ratna Shah.

I have not seen the movie I just know he is a writer is he gay? Cause I can't think of any other reason for a backlash

Yes and they don't reveal it till end,even though after second half its easier to guess.He has done a remarkable job you should check it out.Hopefully now there will be a "standard" for proper family movies.
 
Watched Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo again yesterday on TV. Lovely heart touching movie. Salman is the greatest.

Absolutely told the same to my friend although i think they would had ripped it more from Dredd with the worst bollywood logic ever.
 
Bollywood lost its charisma.From last two years most bollywood movies are Crap and unbearable. 51yr old Bbudhe Khan's love stories ,acting less new comers and repeated vulgar rom-com's.They want easy money without innovation & hard-work.

South India Avg Telugu movie 'Bahubali' collected 500 cr (in India),Bollywood 340cr Max :))). Just imagine the strength of whole India box-office collections-1000 cr easy.

If you actually watch bollywood though..you would have a different opinon.
Even in hollywood it is the avengers and the masala crap that earns money...not hurtlocker. Hurtlocker will earn for the budget put in and make a decent profit..like wise there are 10's of bollywood movies everyyear which are very good. Do put in effort like you put effort in searching for hollywood great movies.
 
Bollywood is rubbish apart from the odd movie every 3 years. Pakistani cinema is rubbish period. Why people give these producers their money, Ill never know. No wonder our society doesnt prosper like the west. Our taste in film is terrible. Movies are more important than people think.

From last 2yrs many Bolly movies copied from south Indian movies/styles and rest are crap.As a movie lover it hurts me why there is no new thing in bollywood. btw Masala/rom-com movie budget is 30cr collection 30-60 cr. We want Quality not quantity or award type or idiotic ....bolly is failed to reach audience expectation.

Repeat... India box-office strength 1000cr easy.

Again, there are atleast 15 to 20 good movies each year....like you go out of your way to watch room from hollywood...you have to go out of your way to watch good movies from india as wel..you will find them. Otherwise it is your avengers vs our Bahubali....different masala for different people....but it is the same popular cinema making money
 
^^ Idiot watch some Korean,French or German movies within their limited budget and scope they make great movies but Bollywood is total crap.It is disgrace for any movie lover to call bollywood as a movie industry.

Majority movies are crap.Only tax evaders & mafia dons invest in this crap. Most of these movies are made for Indian subcontinent idiots....who watch without content or new ideas for their bbdhe Heroes and acting less white skin heroins.

Hollywood make at-least 20% good and 80% bad but bolly 99% are CRAP movies.

Is it hard to debate with out abusing? And how many korean movies do you watch..1 out of 200 releases? be as picky for bollywood as well...you will find as good or even better ! Do not get the best of other languages and compare with popular cinema of bollywood.... be fair. I am not saying its great or anything..but it is good at what it does..gives popular cinema which people want and enough content driven movies like any other industry does.
 
Haters can hate my interest in Bollywood has regenerated after new filmakers finally giving script its due.
Sadly couldn't watch Aligarh will download the same once it becomes available.

Have you seen Badlapur, Masaan, Queen.etc? Its not fair to say 99% movies are crap. There have been some pretty decent films
 
Imran Hashmi is the bollywood equivalent of Michael Cera from Hollywood.

Complete expressionless actor, 0 personality, has absolutely nothing going for him.

He's lucky he gets that many scenes with beautiful girls, and a role like this.

At least Michael Cera is a qualified actor.
 
In good olden days audience don't have any option (except movies) blindly worshiped actors. Now a days everyone with 3g smart phones,different channels with all kinds of prog's,2nd day HD prints etc.....Still Bollywood stuck in 51yr old bbuddhe khan's Love stories &vulgar rom-com's.

btw I watched all movies..... according to bollywood standards few are good but in a globalized world they are crap(watch some Korean serials content& picturization wise they are 200% better than bollywood love stories :P).Hope you got my point.

Its banned doesn't mean people can't play the character..Aligarh,Dostana(Boman) are other examples.

Also corruption is banned but we see corrupt police officers almost every random movie in India :P

The only movie where a corrupt policeman was the hero is Dabangg, fun movie that. The corrupt guy is usually the villain, can't do that with a gay guy.

Pakistani Actress Saba Qamar is doing Saket Chaudhary's next film, opposite Irrfan Khan. Two awesome actors in one film, must be a good script, I trust Irrfan's judgement.

Is it worth seeing? Sitting in a theatre for 3 hours bollywood movie gives me nightmare :srt

Shahid seems to be a brilliant actor. When he first came on to the scene, I thought that he would be just another chocolate boy bollywood hero. But he has been very impressive lately.

not a massive fan of bollywood, however will have to disagree with you here.

Movies like dil chaahta hey, talaash, PK, 3 idiots, Udaan, stanley ka dabba to name a few are very impressive.

Diljit will end up being the best Punjabi actor after obviously (Dharmendra and Sunny).
 
IMO the thing with shahid is i always feel someone could had outperformed him,for example i Think Ranbir would had done Haider better and similarly all his roles.

Even here he is supposed to be a mix of Jazzyb + Honey Singh but he isn't able to do it properly, the only thing with him i now he is trying to do different roles and credit to him for that.

Decent movie, 1st half was brilliant but 2nd half was ok till the climax which was brilliant. Definitely worth a watch and also no songs in the movie and it keeps you interested all the way through with the thrills. After many years Shahrukh made a decent movie. Shahrukh will definitely be sweeping best actor awards for his acting in Fan. Maybe his best performance or one of the best performance.
 
Fan was a disaster and is one of the worst movies by srk , I mean if Ra1 wasn't bad enough but I have good expectations from raees.
 
Who has watched Rocky Handsome , who can give review ? so then I will decide or to watch it or not :p
but John Abraham is looking so cool and dashing in this movie :D

Its a remake of Korean movie The Man from Nowhere.(they took rights of it) rather watch that.

Really?? Critics who slammed films of SRK like Ra1, Happy New Year, Dilwale and Chennai Express are all praising Fan and especially SRKs acting.

Its a huge flop bro lucky for SRK Raees seems to have a lot of "hype" and interest among fans.
 
Just saw fan and have to say SRK has outdone himself. That was definitely one of his better performances.

But it doesn't take away SRKS performance and critical acclaim.
Fan was never going to do huge box office business due to no songs and not being a masala movie to keep the masses entertained. Fan and especially SRK will be sweeping awards for his best or one of best performance of his career. This performance was for hi haters who said he can't act anymore.
When he makes useless movies like Chennai Express and Happy New year which break box office records he gets critised for making nonsense masala movies where he over acts. But when he delivers a movie where he has to act and be tested and where he gets critic acclaim which he hasn't since Chak De/Swades he gets critised for the film box office business.
