It was disappointing considering it had Ranbir who acted very well and RAJKUMAR hirani who is an awesome director.
The worst thing about the movie was most of knew everything, and Paresh Rawal who although a very good actor didn't put Any effort for this role.

You can watch it if you don't know abt Sunjays personal.life as such, miss it if else and go watch Gurgaon or Lust stories on Netflix.

Paresh Rawal has the best comedic timing I’ve seen honestly. If I’d watch it it would be because of him. With regards to Dutt’s personal life I’ve heard it’s a very biased retelling that overlooks his faults and paints him as the victim
 
Bollywood directors should stop brag &lie during promotions that movie is honest or faithful depiction of historical or biopic subject. If they can't do justice to its subject.

on this subject Padmaavat was reality check for me
At first I thought rajput's were right to get offend by this But after watching the movie it turnsout to be all about rajput glorification at a price of khilji's character assassination. The movie was neither faithful to history nor poem "padmaavat" which it claimed to be.

next time imo if censor board have guts then they should force change everything from movie title to character names when historical movie is not faithful to it's subject. Rather than just removing " i " from the title.

But the sad fact is this movies successfully whitewashed or destroyed image of real characters in people's mind & as a viewer we can't do anything other than "wearing imaginary disclaimer glasses & watching it purely for entertainment purpose."

That's what I decided from now on that I will watch movies that I am interested for it's story as it is the director presented. Without worrying about propaganda or accuracy.

" Raees "makers were smart. They tried to make movie based on abdul latif's life but they sensed the trouble halfway and made it all fictional while keeping the essence of the real story intact.

Yes ,it's very biased, and Paresh Rawal is very good with comedy and even serious roles(Sardar, Tamana(1997) playing Eununch), but he didn't prepare for this Punjabi role at all even though he did well in Oye Lucky Lucky Oye.

True ,he is very similar to Michael Bay though.
He did make a good short movie in Bombay Talkies though but in Lust Stories his was the weakest.

Was pretty good. Lust stories , was alright I guess. I am guessing the maid was sleeping with the dude that was getting married ?

Is “ A Wednesday” any good. I’m mostly into thrillers, crime and mystery... but can’t seem to want to watch it.

Didn’t like it at all. The premise excited me but I was left disappointed to say the least. Even naseerudin shahs brilliant performance doesn’t save it for me. Desi audiences who don’t know what good thrillers are will probably enjoy it though

Did you like the movie? Personally, I think it was an okay time pass masala movie with some comic scenes but I didn't find it that emotional as people were saying the only scene in which I got emotional was when his dad tells him that his mother has cancer and when she was dying but other than that it seemed like whitewashing of Sanjay Dutt character and a PR stunt. I expected much better from Hirani and Vidhu
 
Sanjay Dutt is too complex and plain to be captured under 3 hours, especially in a masala Indian "blockbuster"(Whatever that means).

LOL they missed out on a lot of things in his career and personal life. No mention of his two previous wives and the former one who he had divorced while she was diagnosed with brain tumour
 
Well Well Congress is going after Sacred Games and Anurag Kashyap for some dialogues about Bofors scam, I am quite sure Anurag will keep quiet and silently delete the scene as he has done previously under Congress Government rule whenever his movies had trouble.

Anurag is eerily silent on twitter where as if it was BJP or any of its affliates who demanded such thing he would have raised huge hue and cry over twitter and most of the bollywood would have come on twitter protest. Just look at his twitter BJP this Modi that...

NO such thing will happen here as most of Bollywood is filled with Congress supporters and thus everything will be done silently, just exposing the hypocritcal bollywood here, good director but is a political stooge. I hope some Hindu religious group also files a case regarding hurt religious feelings and religious offence on sacred games so that Anurag's reaction can be seen on twitter and news channels.

That's terrible and Sanjay of all people should know of the pain a woman suffers while experiencing a life-threatening disease.

Maybe it was related to a prenuptial agreement or was a consultation for economic reasons between the two.

In the case of Udta Punjab SAD+BJP Govt also followed law and filed complaint but Anurag and the entire bollywoood was up in arms and ran a campaign against the government, not going to argue with you over this. A simple history search with what Anurag has done in the past when faced with bans and censorship under Congress Govt and what he does with BJP and allies is clear to everyone.

No mam, that was later, the hue and cry and protests were for freedom of expression in film making, censorship, tryanny etc etc. Anyway, you are never going to get convinced on this issue and I am never going to get convinced by you and i don't have to continue a multi-page argument on this topic.

Entire day gone and still the only thing i can hear from Anurag Kashyap and the entire Bollywood family as they say is only absolute silence, no attacks from the self-declared intellectuals and Luteyn journalists too. Except few, The whole lot is filled with Congress supporters so they cannot attack their fellow ideologue which is fine but then don't pretend to be a saint and lecture the entire country on all and sundry.

I wanted to post my opinion on this topic and expose Anurag Kashyap and other Bollywood hypocrites for what they are, that is all. Not talking about their talents at all, may they continue making biased, un-biased, witty, dreadful, good or bad films as they wish.

The series is not going to to be censored,or wasn't leaked , also Anurag has always spoken against censor board, CONGRESS OR BJP doesn't matter but hey let's continue to do what about.

I have not seen the movie and have no intention of doing so. What I will say that Sanjay Dutt's long hairstyle from many years back was awesome. I tried to grow my hair like that only to be told my hair was to wavy and thick for it! I was devastated at the time:azhar2
 
Without having watched it, I can most certainly guess that this is the latest attempt at perfume and cologne-ing his questionable persona with a giant PR-shaped brush.
 
Watched Sanju with family 2 days ago. What an awful movie. Performances were alright but everything else was just so mediocre. Only 2 things that were actually good were the sukhwinder Singh song when he’s on the mountain and the Kishore Kumar song.

It says a lot about the taste of desis that this is considered a great movie by so many. Had to take a bathroom break when they showed him relapsing for he 4th time and I didn’t even wanna use the bathroom. So many cringeworthy scenes

I have felt the same when watching bollywood movies everyone raves about..only to question their taste later. Indians are emotional people, and any movie which makes them go through emotions, gets praised by them. Not the most rational people.
 
Just watched Dhadak and to be honest it was a painful experience and everyone was left shell-shocked in the cinema at the end by the shocking climax
 

Raj and DK involved in this,I have always followed their work,even when it wasn't so good.
 
The only reason to not watch this Anurag Kashyap movie would be Abhishek Bachan.

Ghanta looks good. Same old 80s concept of a hero in destitution and impoverishment who faces rejection everywhere only to embrace the challange after a long, arduous inspiring speech from his lovely sanskari wife, a paragon of virtue (who btw is described as a lone force against the patriarchal values ingrained in the society) thus exceeding expectations and becoming rich in an unbelievably short time while still retaining the middle class sanskar values(throw in a bit of patriotic ideals as well) which motivated and encouraged him to begin the struggle in the first place.

Bollywood producers love to rehash the age old tried and tested concepts since they know about the average IQ of their ardent viewers who couldn't give a crap about screenplay and acting as long as the plot is mildly entertaining created for mass consumption that can be enjoyed by a middle class cineplex going family.

Every movie industry tries to reinvent old, but the problem is Hollywood isn't judged by Desis the way Indian cinema is.

Indian cinema is atleast not rampantly remaking old movies, w.r.t this movie its packaged in an entertaining manner for a whole new audience, in olden days this whole movie would basically be one scene(Avtaar Rajesh Khanna), but now it shows the issues, ofcourse its not making you think that why its a commercial film,its entertaining without being ridiculous and in a semi-linear fashion.

These films are smaller stories and India has many small time entrepreneurs on which the movie is based,not sure if you would find it interesting if a King kong was a tailor and Naomi Watts inspired him to play baseball?

He does try different movies,not sure why he isn't allowed to do commercial cinema, he keeps a good balance with October-Judwa2 , Sui Dhaaga- Dishoom , Badlapur-Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya.

The only issue here is he is a product of nepotism.

Varun Dhawan is an actor? He does a lot of overacting like many other bollywood actors these days. Arjun Kapoor is another one of those.

Been having sleepless nights ever since I heard the news.
 
After like 4 years I decided to watch a bollywood movie, so I chose 'Kapoor & Sons' off amazon prime. Barely 14 minutes into the movie I decided I had enough, I just couldn't put up with the acting. Guess bollywood ain't for me.

The industry manages to churn out one decent movie in every 5 years or so. It's not an accomplishment but a reflection of sad state of affairs in this ghatiya film factory.

Sadly they aren't fully wrong either.
My sister and a few cousins went to watch 'Gold' last night.
Instead of watching the movie peacefully in the theatre , the imbeciles kept on updating their Instagram and Whatsapp statuses posting snippets of movie shot directly from hall.
When you have such dim wits as your audiences, what more can you expect from the producers whose sole motive remains maximizing their profits?

Watched Andhadun couple of days ago. Movie keeps you at the edge of your seat till the end. Best Indian movie of this decade.
 
Watched a movie called Karwaan the other day. A light hearted road trip movie starring Irrfan Khan. Nice watch for a slow day.

Gully Boy probably the best of the year so far imo. Haven't seen Badla yet.

Uri, Kesari, Total Dhamaal, Gully Boy, Luka Chuppi and Badla were hits at the box office.

Let's see how Salman Khan's Bharat turns out this Eid
 
There ahould be an Indian movies corner, this one just gets dominated by Bollywood :( Anyway, Peranbu and Super Deluxe were great, looking forward to SyeRaa Narasimha Reddy coming later this year

It was alright....as a chiranjeevi ****** growing up..it was a decent watch to see him act in full flow especially in the climax. Could have been better !
 
Shreeram Lagoo has died , was a great actor and probably Independent India’s greatest theater personality..

In movies the guy could act with his eyes..
