Seems Ganguly thinks so...

Mumbai: Just imagine Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, and Rahul Dravid working together for a common goal? That would be a dream – not just for Indian fans, but for world cricket. After BCCI President Sourav Ganguly got Rahul Dravid onboard as the coach of the side, looks like ex-Indian cricketing stalwart Sachin Tendulkar would also be joining his former colleagues soon.

Talking to journalist Boria Majumdar during ‘Backstage with Boria’, Ganguly hinted that at some point Tendulkar – who has been reluctant up until now – would have to join Indian cricket. “Sachin is obviously a bit different. He doesn’t want to be involved in all this. I’m sure with Sachin’s involvement in Indian cricket in someway, it can’t be a better news than that. In what way that obviously needs to be worked out. Because there is too much of conflict all around. Rightly or wrongly, anything and everything you do you have the word ‘conflict’ keeps jumping out of the window, some of which I find really really unrealistic. So you have to see the best way to keep the best talent involved in the game. And at some stage Sachin will also find a way to be involved in Indian cricket,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Indian team has reached South Africa for a Test series that would be followed by the white-ball leg. Kohli would be leading the side in Tests, while Rohit Sharma would take over the mantle in the white-ball series.

The first Test starts on December 26 at Centurion. India’s vice-captain Rohit Sharma would be unavailable for the Tests due to an injury.

Only way he can or should be involved is as a Technical Batting Consultant.
Virat Kohli credits him for for his England turnaround in 2018 after horrid tour before. Almost all the batters in India look up to him, and he can explain the mechanics and explain batting technique pretty well.

No Thanks.
He is busy in serving Ambani IPL family, let him stick with IPL.
That's good for him, he don't have leadership skills and tactically very poor person.

Sachin is like Trump in the sense that he has almost completely disappeared since the end of his career.

But why?

He is a simpleton who was good at batting and who was adored because he was like a little boy with a special talent.

He has no skills or training, no leadership qualities and a minimal capacity to think.

Ganguly was cunning and Laxman and Dravid were smart. Tendulkar had none of those qualities.

Why would you put an unqualified halfwit anywhere close to a position of responsibility? He’d just be like a mascot!

Non-traveling batting consultant, his knowledge of technical aspects of batting must be extremely good, Kohli always credits him for the turnaround in 2018 England tour.

VVS is the odd one out, don't want him involved with Indian cricket, strikes me as a simpleton and sycophant.

Personally no. He's his dues for India. All he needs to do know is just put his feet up and enjoy the rest of his life.

There's a reason why he is thought highly of. He was/is a genuine GOAT.

No reason to get involved with coaching. A few pointers here and there in his academy, that's fine.

Lol bad compairson, trump is still in the background working on grass roots. You just dont hear about it.

As of now any sane american wouldve wanted trump over biden.

Yes Sachin Tendulkar, one of the greatest batsman (if not the greatest) ever produced has no skills.

Matlab kuch bhi :)))

What attribute to skills in your dictionary?

Tendulkar should work with U19 boys and try to correct their technique. We hardly get any proper copybook test batsman these days due to avalanche of T20 cricker. This is where Sachin can be instrumental in junior level.

Agree.
Useful cheerleader like how is doing for Amban's during IPL.

Jay Shah trying to convince Sachin Tendulkar to take up role in Indian cricket: Report

With Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman already playing different roles in Indian cricket, BCCI secretary Jay Shah is reportedly trying to bring in Sachin Tendulkar too.

Some of the greats of Indian cricket can all be seen currently serving the sport in the country. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary, Jay Shah, is now looking to add arguably the greatest of all, Sachin Tendulkar, to the decorated roster too.

While Sourav Ganguly is the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Rahul Dravid is the head coach of the Indian men's cricket team. Even VVS Laxman has taken up the job of the director of the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Arguably the biggest name in Indian cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, however, is still missing.

A few weeks ago, Ganguly had even suggested that Tendulkar could be drafted into Indian cricket in some role or another. Now, it seems like Jay Shah has been given the task to make this a possibility.

As per a report in the Times of India, the BCCI secretary is keen to bring in the Master Blaster in a supporting role, just like Dravid and Laxman were brought in.

“He’s (Shah) been off the media radar but absolutely clear about what is the right thing to do. Little things that matter. For instance, appointing Rahul Dravid as head coach, ensuring someone of the stature of VVS Laxman gets associated with the National Cricket Academy (NCA). We’re told he’s now trying to convince Sachin Tendulkar to get into some role in the near future,” said BCCI members in the know, as per TOI.

Tendulkar has worked in the Indian Premier League with Mumbai Indians as a mentor before but hasn't directly worked with the Indian cricket team. If Shah and the BCCI do manage to rope him in, it would indeed be a magnificent achievement. However, what exactly would be the role in which the BCCI want to see Tendulkar, isn't yet known.

Make him responsible for U19, A team and the academies. Perfect way for him to give back to the next generation

The problem is the conflict of interest rules. Sachin has extensive commercial commitments and IPL involvement which he is not going to put aside.

He would be a great technical consultant coach for younger and returning players.
