Choke: Define in your own Words

That one takes the cake.. 2 from 3 lol

That was a choke. I agree.

2 off 3 with 3 wickets in hand.

I condemn Mushfiq for starting the Nagin dance. It is a cringy feminine dance that belongs in Bollywood.

It used to be a common dance in north Indian weddings by drunk uncles and its cringe , never understood how that celebration came into being.

Nagin dance was started by a spinner called Nazmul Islam. He played a handful of games 4-5 years ago. He started this celebration.

Sri Lankan team probably tried to troll him and BD team by doing this move. In return, BD players started to do too. It snowballed from there.

Anyway, no BD player does this stupid dance anymore. I am glad.

Choking is losing from a comfortable winning position.

Losing a "30 off 30 with 6 wickets in hand" game is definitely choking.
Yes it is. That's as long as 6 wickets still remained at the end of the game and the game parameters, in this case, wickets in hand haven't changed. The moment the key parameters changed, the original assumption of easy win, isn't the same anymore. If you see the SA innings, there was a.progressive decline in their win probability over by over. The shot of Klassen was on but he didn't read the slower ball. It bounced a bit.more and he edged it. Then Jansen got a peach and he would have got out to that ball 10 out of 10 times irrespective of the situation. Arshdeep bowled a pin point Yorker and a bouncer to Miller which would be difficult to put away for Miller in any game as they are not his strengths. Maharaj just wasn't talented enough and was never known as a hitter. Surya caught the catch of his life and won the game.

I don't think.you understand the meaning of choke. It's not just limited to you either. People associate the word choke against some teams and unlucky against others. As I indicated earlier, choke is when a team that's supposed to win loses as long as key parameters remain the same. Otherwise it's just ebbs and flows of the game.

Batsman: DK
Bowler: Sarkar

Choke and a bit by the overawed bowler.

To be fair, Soumya Sarkar was a part-time bowler. DK is expected to smash a part-timer in the final over.

I agree with you that it was a choke but main culprit was Rubel (who gave away 20-30 runs in the previous over).

Actually India choked till 15th over. They ended up giving one over less to Hardik Pandya. Imagine Pandya bowling Axar patel's over. It would have been a comprehensive win. That one over choke from India tilted the momentum in favor of SA. LUckily that mistake did not cost India.

Cant remember the previous over tbf, it was Soumya had from memory 22+ runs in the bank.

Choke is used against some teams while unlucky is used against others. I think they are both the same. In a game of small margins, you need luck to win
Luck actually doesnt support the chokers... see the example of SA

Sarkar was almost in tears mid over. They even had to bring him water. He had difficulty breathing too. It was actually a physical choke

It was a choke.

But, Sarkar shouldn't have felt bad. He was a part-timer. Why was he bowling that final over? A specialist bowler should've bowled.

Captaincy failure.
