What's new

Congrats Australia on winning Ashes 2nd Test - Adelaide ( + Day 5 comments )

0-12 early in the 2nd.

KP misses a sitter for a runout, Langer was miles out of his ground but KP couldn't hit the stumps from 3 feet away.

this could be a blessing in disguise for ENG

It didn't have the chance to be...Langer gone for 7, caught in the gully.

Geez that was a cowlashing shot from Gnome.

Geez Hoggy has been herculean here. Virtually carried the Pom attack on his shoulders.

44444444444444444 for Dubya, worked off his legs to fine leg.

game will get very interesting after the 20 th over because i think reverse swing will come in to play!

4444444444444444 for Haydunce, pulled imperiously through midwicket.

ummm what a strike

5.2 Flintoff to Hayden, FOUR!!, shortish delivery outside the off stump, Hayden walks into the shot and pulls it away over the circle to deep mid wicket for four, that is a cracker of a shot!!!

LOL your nick should be ReverseSwing, PP... :D

No need to do anything crazy, one boundary and a couple of singles an over should do it.

And after that shot, Haydunce is out, OZ now 2-33!!!

Haydunce gone for 18 to a needless shot.

holy*** Matt just got out!! now then is there any twist in this tale??

It's going to go down to the last over, I feel...

I hope our hoodoo of chasing small totals doesn't come back to bite us here...

i don't like this move of having Hussey at 4....sure he is a good player of the new ball but he is still quite inexperienced at this level

WTH??? I lost my Willow feed and I have some bloody French fashion thing coming in!!!

Now they brought it back - I was about give Willow a nasty phone call...

2-43 so far, 125 to win off 169 balls.

2-48, 27 overs remaining 120 runs to win

wat does that mean ?

I think it means we play out the full overs remaining even if we go past 6.30pm.

hope Fred gets Ricky out soon...that would really set up the game beautifully!

Hope not :D

These clowns better get the Willow feed up quick!!

Doesn't matter - I managed to get hold of the ABC feed. Though I'll be asking for a refund for the most important part of the 5th day!

444444444444444 for Hussey, 80 more required to win.

This games over and with it the series as well. Bit of an anti-climax really; over a year of buildup and the series is decided in 2 weeks.

OZ scoring at about 5.5 runs per over. 2-92, 19 overs to go, 76 runs needed, 4 RRR

I don't think today was an anti-climax for me at all. I didn't give us a hope of winning after day 3.

4444444444444444 for Ponting, on 34. 2-96.

IT Was a good thing in the past when england selectors showed faith with the same team but that was when all were firing in all cylinders ,,,but this has to be a huge blunder presisting with same team .

wat didya expect when they play a super spinner like giles for his batting and spining ablities

OZ 2-101, 67 from victory with 8 in hand and 18 overs to go.

Why is Harmison not bowlign after 2 overs only giving up 7 runs? ***?

444444444444444444 for Ponting, on to 44. 2-108, 60 needed to win

so anyone care to explain why harmison is not bowling? is he injured?

Let's see if Giles gets dropped next match for Monty.

If he gets dropped, Fletcher will look stupid for not having played him earlier.

If he doesn't get dropped and Monty doesn't play, Fletcher will look even stupider.

No win situation for Fletcher. He should have played Monty in this test.

Anyone know the biggest first innings score posted by a team batting first and still losing?

How did England go from a position of dominance to one of equality to one where they are about to get thrashed?

I can only think they were overly complacent in their second innings - taking it for granted that the match would be drawn.

breaking news : shoaib asif have been exonerated !!

Wicket! Ponting goes off Giles. 3-116.

51 runs needed with 7 wickets in hand

Look at all the bloody seagulls at the Adelaide Oval...

4444444444444444444 by Marto, lofted down the ground to deep mid off

can the game stop to many seagulls? :D I dont want Aussies to win since I want this to be a interesting Ashes...not the good ole Aussie winning 4-1

Geez the OZ are going to make hard work of this. Marto in and out like a summer storm, out for 5.

That was a pretty lame shot from Marto, I reckon he's gone for the Perth Test.

Come on, cool and collected is what is needed here. There's plenty of time.

Oh no! five dot balls for Freddie, then 7 runs conceded off the last ball, after an overthrow when KP tried to whip the ball in to the stumps when the batsmen were home safe, then a very casual attempt at a stop from GoJo and the ball runs to the boundary!

4-133, 35 runs off 69 deliveries with 6 in hand.

Ian Healy is suggesting that maybe the Poms could just bowl all bouncers and force the OZ to hook or pull to score.

Bowl Harmison, I would have done that from the start. Or get Giles to bowl wide of leg stump and set a 2-9 field!

4-142, 26 to get in 8 overs. About 3 an over.
