New Zealand sruggling very badly at the moment.

New Zealand 67/5 (17.0 ov)

Good spell by Mushrafe Mortaza 8-2-19-3 econ 2.37

1st wicket fell at the score of 47 now they are 71-5 in 18.0 overs.

oh my....only if bangladesh can continue to pressure the batsmen...

New Zealand 116/6 very happy to see this i'll be much happier ( if that's a word) if bangladesh can win this match and the series :D

Lol, BD are gonna get rolled for 40.

Not gonna happen bro we're playing at home and we're playing 8 specialist batsmen plus we also have Razzak and Mashrafe at 9 and 10.

i wonder if athar ali khan is doing commentary for this match....

i wish Bangladesh can pull this one out and surprise New Zealand

Nevertheless...good effort from Bangladesh. Average score on this pitch is 239, so they have done well in restricting NZ. Their batting NEEDS to deliver

202 to win for BD i wish they play sensible cricket and not treat this as T20

Bangladesh could chase this, but i cant see their batsmen showing enough application to carry if off.

N.Z to win by 60 runs i recon!

Wow Tamim gone, game overrrr. =[
I like that guy.

50/1 after 13 good going
i'd love to see bangla win

Bangladesh 58/1 (15.5 ov)

97 for 2 :O

Bangladesh require another 105 runs with 8 wickets and 23.1 overs remaining

You just really shouldn't lose from here

Every time the Kiwis play, I always hope that they fail quite miserably. They are annoying, untalented, mediocre players who are rated so very highly for no reason. Down with them :afridi

The most annoying side to play. They spend the whole game looking like they are going to get beaten but somehow generally manage to do alright.

Come on Tigers, this would be a great win especially after the greedy Indians came and pillaged their cricket team for ICL.

bangladesh shouyld win from here now
76 required from 17 overs with 8 wickets left

cmon tigers..send these amatuers packing!!..lol..God I love watchin the kiwis get pounded!!

Brilliant hitting from Ashraful.

Congrats to all the Bangladeshi members here. Good performance!

24 needed from 10.4 overs @ 2.25 runs per over, 8 wickets remaining.

Comprehensive victory.

ditto.

very interested to see if we regress in friday's match or play like we haven't won a match every before and steal that one too.

No offence to Bangladesh but this just shows what a crap team Newzealand have become oflate.

Agreed!! But well done to bangladesh anyway!!!

Congratulations to Bangladesh

congrats to all bangladeshis for comprehensively defeating new zeland today.

good to see bangladesh winning.

great win for Bangladesh... they were totally written off because of the ICL problem but they came back and won in grand fashion...

while that might be true, lets remember that NZ are ranked 3rd in the world and that the rankings, while imperfect, aren't based on expert opinion or whimsical fancies, but on some mathematical formula.

the kiwis have always been a strong ODI side, its test cricket that they "suck" at.

They are so disrespctfull to their opponent that yesterday they cancel their practice session because there was a traffic jam on route to the Stadium.

oh yeah, forgot about that one...right before the WC.

i dont understand why so many hate the kiwis. certainly they can't be less exciting or talented than the sri lankans?

there aren't many teams with 'talent' at all.

1st match after all those players moving to ICL, pressure was on but Bangladesh showed true fighting spirit and Congratulations to them!!! well deserved win, dont know why but when i hear bangladesh wins a match against any team its always happy to hear this, i know they have talent they much much more to show to the world than they are letting on, i hope bangladesh can carry on playing like this and remain in the top 10 teams of the world, wouldnt want them to loose their spot!!

hardluck to the NZ never really liked them and yeh someone said about the hype of these NZ's totally agree they aren't up there

Sri Lanka have a goldmine of talent, an absolute goldmine. They are one of the most talented and gifted teams in the world. From Kumar Sangakarra to Mahela Jayawardene to Sanath Jayasuria to Muttiah Muralitharan to Ajantha Mendis to Lasith Malinga and so on, and so forth.

To compare them to the likes of Jamie How and Ryder something and that woeful bunch of trundlers they call a bowling attack is a travesty. A damn travesty.

Woah Congrats Bangladesh!!

Well i could see this coming for New Zealand they are really losing form and this just showed it!!!!!

:)

Thank you all for your well wishes. Anything after this one would be bonus cause my expetation was so low. The whitewashes were becoming annoying to say the least.

Thank you ICL for picking up all the dead woods. They were hogging national spots for nothing.

Ash, let us see a back to back performance and more aggressive fielding in the middle overs. 76/6 and the pressure was on. Why not add some more right then and there?

well done BD, glad to see you win from a better team!

Being a Pakistani supporter i am kinda jealous that foreign (specially whites) teams touring BD without any hesitation!

nice to see the skipper fire man i just watched another vid of him firing against england he's great man sshakinb and iqbal aren't bad 2 :D good victory

Its not only the victory, its the way they won it that i am happy about.

Though i did not view the match going by the scorecard, they had a low score of 201 to chase. Instead of doing their usual slam bam run chase they chose to play it professionally. Bangladeshis when they apply themselves are a much better team than they appear to be.

If New Zealand had managed a whitewash in this series, they would apparently have gone second in the ODI rankings!

I'm sooo happy Bangladesh taught NZ a lesson today, well played! An excellent recovery after the 'ICL problems', and its good to see NZ humiliated!

C'mon Bangladesh, go for the clean sweep!

And now the real deal: seal the series!!!!

I really hope they can do it.

A shame that this series isnt being broadcasted in Europe...

When the dust settled...

The team had dinner in a local steak house. I like the modesty after the win. Not celebrating with a bang like in the few previous wins we had. Only humbleness can ensure the feat is still on the ground. Which means the team is focused.

NZ was undercooked. Although they proclaimed they were ready before the match. They did all their batting practice in New Zealand. They were bolstering a huge batting lineup. The depth saved them from more embarrasement.

They were gunning for #2 spot before this series. Another loss that will put NZ behind Pakistan to #6. SL will still be at #7. For BD another win in this series could be the biggest achievement ever in our small cricketing history. We would cross 50 points in ranking for the first time. :) Which means half way there.

Great Eid/Durga Puja present from the Tigers!

I can't believe I cancelled my trip to Bangladesh or else I would've watched the match live from the stadium.

This NZ side is by no means weak, the same team that beat England 3-1 away from home.

Has anyone noticed how CrapInfo isn't paying too much attention to this match? It's because all of their crappy writers except our very own Utpal Shuvro(who is probably the most under-rated writer in the site) predicted Bangladesh will be thrashed and their Test status will be revoked, well my boys made them eat their words.

EDIT: I forgot to thank the ICL, they deserve the biggest credit. Thanks for cleaning up the deadwoods from the team. I wonder how the Dhaka Traitors are feeling?

All their writers are full-time working on the IND-AUS series i think...

Indeed, imo this match has been very underrated...

sri lanka, IMO, aren't all that talented. but then again, talent is a weird word which probably should be banned, since performance is all that really counts and can be quantified. and sri lanka perform very well, mind you.

however, sri lanka are much more professional than the other subcontinent sides which leads to the illusion of them being "talented". the players are highly skilled no doubt, but in terms of straight up god given, inherent ability asides from murali and sanath (and maybe lasith) the lankans don't have a whole lot.

its the application of what little talent they have which makes sri lanka so special. in that regard they are better than any of the other cricket teams.

chaminda vaas is the stereotypical sri lankan cricketer. the guy has nearly as many wickets as waqar younis (and thus, a comparable "effectiveness"), but he isn't even 1/100th of waqar's talent though he's perhaps 70% as effective.

so SL might be more talented than NZ, but NZ are quite effectiv when it comes to winning ODIs, especially away from home. though i'll admit the lankans have been better tourists of late.

well done , but this is pointless if they go on loosing the next 30 matches they play !

Win this series Bangladesh. I don't count on Ashraful much so the other new players have to bat and take the score to 250 which they probably can

Well done Bangladesh! Good to see the Kiwis being owned and made to eat a bit of humble pie.

whats with all the kiwi hatred?

there actually one of my more favorite teams...though their new ODI kits are ugly, they should bring the old ones back.
