Congrats Bangladesh. Great fantastic team effort. They didn't play like a collection of individuals.
 
Very good by BD. The game itself and also no more over-the-top celebration. That surprised me more :) Respect to the team!!
 
Well done team BD. great recovery by Mushy and Mithun which helped get some sort of total to defend.

Commiserations to Pakistan.

BD bowlers were on fire, choked them and got wickets at crucial stages, spinners and the Fizz were class. Not to forget the part timers Mahmudullah and Sarkar were brilliant for BD
 
Congratulations to Bangladesh. This was a thrashing, regardless of the margin of defeat. At no point did Pakistan look in control of the chase, and were always one wicket from spiralling.
 
Despite some pathetic BD posters on PP, BD played well. A good Tamim replacement and fit Shakib and they are set nicely. Maybe a good pacer would be even better.

thanks buddy. I would like to see us beat yours in a final but India are too strong for us. Maybe at full strength we could have had a chance. Nonetheless, should be a good final

I think from now on I should start giving mash a bit more respect. That Guy was superb today, took a brilliant catch.
 
Congrats to Bangladesh and their fans.

Outperformed Pakistan in all 3 categories.

Thought Mushrafe's captaincy was terrific and he changed the bowlers at the correct time and the fielding was excellent to boot.

In batting Mushfiqur's innings was well paced and executed and deserved a century. Brilliant to watch him watch him bat today, tbh.

All this w/o two of their best players too. Some terrific performances today and a well deserved place in the final against an exceptional side.

On to Pakistan, well what can be said that hasn't already been.

Captaincy, in my opinion, was atrocious today. The need for Sarfraz to continuously remove a slip is infuriating. Especially so much so he did it behind Hasan's back when he was going to his bowling spot :))

We sat back and invited the runs and deserved what we got.

Barring Shaheen and Junaid the rest of the bowling was at best inept.

I don't know what's happened to the bowlers, nor do I know where the blame should go. Azhar Mahmood or the coach and captain?

The batting, I'm sorry to say, has gone back to the Misbah days of dot balls on top of dot balls when we lose a wicket.

Not once, barring 9-10 overs of Imam and Asif, did we look like building an innings. Not once did we make the bowler change his line and length.

All in all I thought Imam deserves some plaudits despite being compared to Azhar by some, he's shown more fortitude and experience in cultivating an innings under pressure than most in that pathetic batting line-up.

Less said about that decision to promote Shahdab too :))

Anyway, best of luck to Bangladesh and their fanatical fans and I hope we can all enjoy a great final.:ssmith

I am not uptodate with their team but when I heard shakib is out I thought that would surely dent BD's chances but nonetheless they came out top.

Congrats to BD completely outplayed us post first 10 overs. Knew that they are a competitive side in ODIs. Good luck to both the teams for the finals.

BD fans request everyone not to take them as minnows.

If they are need to be taken as top team, then they should accept congratulations only after Asia cup if they win it. NOT after every match they win. It should be just another regular day at office.

Otherwise it just shows others still think of BD has minnow who has performed above their ability of a minnow to win it and hence showered with congratulations.

Have some pride if you want serious business.

One of the greatest comebacks from 12/3, Bangladeshis fought like real tigers on the field. India-Bangladesh matches these last 5 years have been very interesting, hope we get a classic on Friday.
 
Congratulations to Bangladesh for reaching the final. I was supporting Bangladesh. I hope BD fans will not become cocky about the final result even before the match. It is always better to stay humble instead of making tall claims beforehand.

Thanks mate. You were a lone fighter here for BD with MMHS not a long time ago. Rest of us are here just as a supporting stuff for you:narine . I always enjoy being here in this wonderful forum, to me the best of all, at least much better than all the BD cricket forum. It's quiet natural to get some sticks in a Pakistani forum while you are a Bangladeshi. There are also quiet a few out there who always are sober,don't get emotional and are level headed about their opinion. when it comes to Bangladesh.This is why it's not a boring forum.Kuch khatti kuch miththi. I just love PP.

Always enjoy watching Bangladesh play. It will be a tough battle between them and Afghanistan over the next decade for the #2 Asian team.
 
Bangladesh have produced some good stroke makers in recent past.Hope they learn building innings.In future it will be great contest bw Afghanistan bowling and Banla bats.

I don't know what is the problem with you always been bitter to BD. You are just doing a disgrace to yourself while doing that. Please have some self respect. BD has just registered a great victory ,being 12/3 down with their topmost 2 players out of the tournament,then come back hard with a 144 runs pertnership to post 239 and then put Pakiatan on the backfoot right at the start of the innings,then come back with a spectacular catch when Malik was taking the game away... . It needs a strong spine to do that. Any team would have been proud with that sort of win. Please take a deep breath, exhale it slowly and deep,you will feel good :babar

Ok didnt know that. Actually i joined sometimes back after our WC win against india but dont post or follow as much.

Best part about BD i like whenever i go there is people are really nice with “dawat” and stuff.

And of course, interior house designs. Only thing hard to tolerate is the road conditions and traffic. Otherwise if youre rich in Bd life is cool.

Deserved to beat Pakistan today.

Apart from the first few overs of the match, Bangladesh were the better team.

Their bowling was very impressive and their fielding was mostly superb.

They of course won without their star player in the team, Shakib Al Hasan.
 
Bangledesh played better and wanted it more. No one can grudge them a place in the final.

Not really, their batting reserves at the top are atrocious.

Mehidy is a good bowler and Mithun seems like a decent prospect...the other youngsters are just bad
 
Pleasantly surprising result given our top order woes. Pakistan were slight favorites going into the match given that Tamim (averaging 62+ since WC2015) and Shakib were both out. Otherwise I'd have said these two teams are fairly well balanced.

Before the Asia Cup I think I had mentioned PAK had the slight advantage in both batting and bowling, but I guess those stats were inflated due to countless 5-0 thrashings of Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. It appears in Asian conditions Bangladesh are a more even matchup. I'd imagine it will be a very even matchup in SENA countries too, with Bangladesh possibly just edging PAK if Tamim and Shakib are fit.

Not to beat a dead thread but it would appear we are the 2nd best Asian side after all.
 
Congratulations to BD posters, a week ago posters were being taken for a ride after loss to Afghans and now again making it to the finals and it's not played in BD as well!

WD slowly and steadily BD getting consistent.

And without Tamim ,imo Tamim has been tremendous recently, didn't expect BD to win this at all.

I never said BD isn't the second best Asian team. In fact, if you go back to that thread you will see that I was one of the very few who came to your rescue and said BD's win loss ratio in the last few years has been the second best in Asia.

It might be difficult for you to believe but I am not an anti-BD person. I am a Bengali myself and my grandmother's family is from Dhaka.

I just have issue with the crazy and hyperbolic statements you make about BD cricket team and some of its players. Idk if it's just your passion or what but you go totally overboard with your judgements.

The way they performed today was phenomenal when nobody was rating them, especially the way they build their game after an early collapse. I fear we could face an upset in the finals as they have got the much desired momentum.

LOL. It's a farewell thread as they seem to have resigned before the final. The real shame is Afghans not being in the final. They were truly the 2nd best team in the competition. Fought every game and smashed SL and BD in the league phases. I'm sure they gained some valuable experience and will be a force to reckon with in the 2019 WC. I expect afg to win at least 3 games in the WC.

I wish we had BD captain leading our side. Good captain can do wonders no doubt.
 
From winning the tri-series in Ireland to now thrashing SA, they look really very good.
 
Such kind of threads and bumping such threads after one win in an iCC tournament shows the mentality of people against BD cricket team.

Would you see threads made after India winning 1 match while the tournament is still ongoing?

BD is a very competent side and it's silly to make and bump such threads after every win. I think BD fans should ask for nothing less than a WC win, if you aim for zenith only then you become best in world.

Having said that since the thread is already there congratulations to BD for win, but remember this is just a start

Why do people have a problem with everything? Bangladesh has never reached the heights the Indian cricket team has so for them, this win is big.
 
This is a big win, and they dominated South Africa brilliantly congratulations.
