Congratulations Sachin Tendulkar on hundred 100s! [Finally!]

Cant stand this stupid media hype anymore...although I love Sachin...he should get over with it tomorrow. Its just unfair how people diss sachin sometimes due to the media and his fanboys. The man has always been humble,never really talks about records.....Even though he is not scoring 100's..he has been scoring 70's regularly. But its time to get over it..unnecessary media and fanboys hoopla for this record..

That's exactly how it is with every major player / team in most sporting disciplines. Many, many examples of this on this very forum: Afridi, YK, Man Utd, the English football team, etc etc.

Its just natural I think, can't do much about it - other than not being an idiotic fan I guess. :)

You will find hype in all sorts of sports, including Chess - you may have heard of the name, Nigel Short.

Navrocks has a point, the Indian media (and Sachinistas) portray SRT to be bigger than the game, which is woefully inaccurate, disgraceful, disrespectful, and downright ignorant. It's because of this nonsensical type of hype that SRT is often found at the receiving end of the fiercest criticism.

Of course, how can we ever forget how you threw your toys out of the pram when the bulk of PP was rooting for Dravid over SRT during the summer?

The litmus test will be when SRT retires. Will Sachinistas continue to live in the past and cite his records? Time will tell.
 
The hype runs this game.

Without Sachin, Dravid wouldn't be earning what he is earning today. At least every single Indian Cricketer of last 15 years owes a lot to Sachin. Some of the Dravid fans wouldn't even be Cricket fans if it wasn't for SACHIN's heroics in 90s.

Lol, I don't beleive in jinx's. Going to wake up early anyway as I need to go to campus to hand in an assignment. Might as well catch some action if :sachin is nearing his 100 in front of a packed home crowd.

9.30 IST ( +5.30 GMT ).

Norway is +1 GMT i guess.

Why are you laughing? I try to get up around 7 am anyway every day.
And why should I get up at 5 am when the match is 90 minutes after that? :facepalm:

I get up at 10AM on weekdays and 1pm on weekends. :D
By the time u get up at 7am, sachin might have scored his ton :))

I hope he gets his 100th 100 against the West Indies. The little master has certainly deserved it.

Couldn't agree more. He either needed West Indian bowling or Indian bowling to get there.

Tendulker just doesn't have it anymore. He's had so many opportunities to get to this hundred yet has done everything from giving Pakistan 5 chances to get him out in Mohali to struggling against straight balls from Anderson. He may have achieved great things in the past, but he's not the same player anymore.

It's quite apt the minnow basher he has become of late gets his hundred against the minnows.
 
He will definitely get it. Real real real real real real flat flat flat flat track against WI poor poor poor poor bowlers. You can easily play shots through the line with no worry of any lateral movement. It's so easy. There's no pressure on as in the game situation and series situation for Tendulkar, its a flat track and against a poor attack. This is his perfect opportunity to do it and I think he will.

Not forgetting SRT couldn't survive without the chaperon hand of the BCCI.

I do not believe in luck, you make your own luck, SRT most certainly has, by optimising his chances of scoring a 100 against a minnow team, at home, dead wicket, flat-pitch, in vain.
 
from deep in my heart i hope he gets out with in 5 overs:p and never gets to his 100th ton and gets kicked of from indian team for not performing :P

and about flat track..yes it is one...but he has 99 other centuries.. 99 for god sake..and some of them in the worst of pitches against good bowling ...lol at people calling him minnow basher.

If Sammy is a test bowler i am a monkeys` uncle. Overall Poor bowlers,flat track, great batsman, there is only one outcome.

I will agree there are sachin fan boys...but more often than not its the haters who make completely ridiculous statements and ridicule him..and then usual arguing stats which ends with how sachin fan boys whine cry etc etc....

More often than not..ridiculing sachin fan boys includes making a ridiculous comment on Sachin as well...which only fuels the dicussion. anyway..

I am not saying Tendu was always a minnow basher. But I am sorry, a batsman who has truely still got it would have not let some swing bowling make him look like a rabbit in headlights in England. It's not just in Englnad, he has had a billion opportunities to get there but he hasn't.

It's not a coincidence that Tendu, after all that time he's been on 99, is getting his hundred in circumstances where every Tom, Dick and Harry could score runs. The man isn't the same Tendu of a few years ago and as much as Indian's like to disagree, is clinging on with all his remaining power.
 
So this pitch was created to accommodate Sachin?

Come on man when a poor team like WI can score 590 end of the story ;-)
