What's new

Congratulations Sachin Tendulkar on hundred 100s! [Finally!]

All the king's horses and all the king's curators could not put humpty dumpty together again.:)))

How Many Times Tendulkar Will Be Out In 90s ?

this is 10th time he was out in 90s and can't get his 100th century

lol. Good he didn't get it here anyway, want that hundred to be sincere not just scripted.

As I just said in the timepass thread on Misbah - we need a new thread: Sachin, still Not Out on 99! :))

Sammmy soo happy ... as if they won the match
They're five wickets down for 300 or so. When WI were 5 wickets down, they were 500 or so up. West Indies are certainly winning, and now with Kohli and Dhoni in, the weakest two batsmen in the line up, they certainly have a chance of bowling out india and getting a good lead. Or if nothing else having the better of a drawn match, and gaining confidence that they did better than a top test team.

No Problem Sachin will make his 100 in Australia. I am damn serious this time.

If he can't get it against the minnows on the flattest of flat decks, he's not going to get it against a okish team like Australia.

:))

Jamal-ox-bear-ox.

You absolute brute!

today i thought he will get his 100th century but he did not get it .. lol

I think if it was 1st innings then he would prolly got his 100 but since he is a choker he was destined to fail in 2nd inning

Seriously though, credit must be given to the mod who merged the genuine 'good luck tendulkar' thread with this one ... certainly a masterstroke :asif

And you desrve a knighthood for creating the ultimate jinx thread! :))

Thank you Sir Poison!

So.. the million $$ question...... did Mumbai crowd boooooed him like they did when he got out against England?

BCCI should arrange and pay money to the bowlers and fielders to setup a match where this guy can score his 100th ton and then retire

Message from Tendulkar to all those guys who have been celebrating and laughing at him getting dismissed at 94.

100 is just another number for me :D

Sachin still has a chance to score to 100 in this test.....

India can get out soon..... west Indies can scored 150-200 runs in a hurry.... and set India a target of 350-375 to score in a littel over a day.... Sachin can a 100 on last day to either save, win or lose the match. Problem solved!

:))) :))) :)))

woke up in a jolt 2 mins ago remembering that Tendu was batting....out again!

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

This. At least the fanboys have a reason to love him, the haters hate him only because of his fanboys. :danish

Dude, I woke up and straight went to cricinfo to see it turned into 100th 100 mania once again. All I saw was Sachin walking back head down on 94.

What the hell man, get a damn 100.

Sachin still not out on 99...sounds like a fun thread name :misbah

Great news , first thing in the morning for me. Sachin couldnt score 100th 100 again .

Obsession has a new level.

Rampaul to Tendulkar, OUT, 138.7 kph, Don't whisper a word. The whole world will be able to hear you. Wankhede is stunned into silence. Rampaul spoils the party, Sammy holds the catch at second slip. Rampaul goes on a celebratory run. Short, not too wide, bounces rib-high, Tendulkar wants to punch, but ends up opening the face on it. Sammy takes a sharp catch at second slip. Five Tests ago he had dropped Dravid in the same position for the man to score a match-winning century. Not today. Just a sigh from Tendulkar as he walks back. A slight grimace towards the end of the walk, looks at the crowd, looks at bat. Walks off. he still has 30 more centuries than the next best

Sachin Tendulkar misses out on historic 100th century

India legend Sachin Tendulkar fell six runs short of his 100th international hundred as he was out for 94 in the third and final Test against West Indies in his home city of Mumbai.

Having cruised from 67 to 94 on the fourth morning, he sliced Ravi Rampaul to skipper Darren Sammy at second slip.

Tendulkar, who has 51 Test centuries and 48 in one-day internationals, has been stuck on 99 hundreds since March.

But this is the closest he has come to the landmark of a century of centuries.

The crowd, who were packed into the Wankhede Stadium in anticipation of Tendulkar's achievement, were left stunned as their idol came so close to the feat that has been expected of him since the World Cup earlier this year.

Anticipation has grown after he made his 99th hundred against South Africa at the World Cup, and interest centred on him throughout India's troubled summer tour of England. - where the nearest he came to three figures was scoring 91 on the last day of the Test series at The Oval.

Tendulkar began day four in confident fashion, hitting paceman Rampaul for two fours off successive overs despite overnight partner VVS Laxman falling to the first ball he faced.

The "Little Master" then took 14 off an over from Fidel Edwards, including a cover-driven four and a six over the slips, to move into the 90s.

But on the last ball of the 87th over, Rampaul struck to leave India's fans playing the waiting game again as their remaining batsmen battled to save the follow-on.

The local media were left as stunned as the supporters - with NDTV describing it as "the biggest heartbreak ever".

With bat overpowering ball for most of the match, it looks most likely to finish as a draw - and with India having avoided the follow-on, Tendulkar is unlikely to get a chance to bat again until the five-game one-day international series starts on Tuesday.

He remains the leading all-time Test run-scorer by a distance, having passed the 15,000 mark in the first Test of the series, and is more than 2,000 ahead of his nearest challenger - his long-term team-mate Rahul Dravid, who became only the second man to score 13,000 Test runs on his way to making 82 on Thursday.

Lol the guy scores a 94...and people are talking as if he failed or something ...

He did fail, he failed at scoring 100.

That's what this thread is about.

SRT can score another 100 90+ innings, no one will care, not even Indians. It's all about his 100 now. Any other score will be deemed a failure.

Keep up dear.

LOL this is hilarious. Better watch out BCCI might ban this thread.

^^ After retirement ? Already known as selfish since day 15

BTW Ashwin's century shows how overrated 100s r

People call him selfish..just for fun!!! no real reason..does not play selfish innings..has a good strike rate...can be at times criticized by not finishing his brilliant innings with a win like 175 vs Aus etc...but never ever selfish!!!

I agree, but comments like "he couldn't even do it against the minnows on a flat track" are a bit unfair and unwarranted seeing as he just scored 94 runs.

It may be deemed a failure according to you and according to some of his fans, but in cricketing terms, and in the match situation, it wasn't.

Anyone know if Tendy will ask to be included in the ODI side to try and get the 100th 100 in ODIs?
