Hi,

Just recently I blocked out a yorker and that resulted in a few small cracks at the base of the bat on the toe.

The cracks are running perpendicular to the grains of the bat and look a few cm deep. I will upload pics when I take them but does anyone know what the best method of repairing these sorts of cracks are without the cracks extending any further?

Thanks

If you live in England then Gray Nicholls offer a service to repair any bat damage (as long as the bat is not split open) from any make or model. All the info is on their website.
Otherwise you could either put some bat tape on it or like Quick single says sand it, and then maybe put a anti-scruff sheet on if you have not done already.

might need to super glue and clamp it...
then follow it with fibreglass...
and finally shoe goo or toe guard...

or just get it refurbished from one of the many options available in uk.

man shoo gue is a waist of money so expensive just but any ohter strong adhesive lol

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions guys.

I think I might have to use some sort of adhesive because the crack is a few cm deep, any ideas for what could be substituted for a clamp at home to hold the wood tightly together?

Thanks

If they are on the base of the toe (not face) then I don't think it is a major worry, my CA bat had it as well but so far its fine and nothing serious happened, Alhamdulilah :)

However, pictures would be ideal :)

Waisay bhai don't worry about it, your bat will last no worries, just enjoy the stick :)

Do you mind if I ask which bat is it ?

Also I highly recommend you using a toe guard..

You can see the cracks pretty clearly. They havnt extended to the edge of the bat, and are about 1-2cm in depth. Just want to repair this before any further damage.

Bhai I will upload the pics of my bat here and you can move it to the appropriate thread. Its a SS Super Hero, G1 Willow, 8 Grains with no markings on face, 2lb 9oz dead weight. Very good ping which is starting to improve now because it is a young piece of willow ( I think it has been pressed really well).

Koyee masla nahin. this is not major I would suggest that you put some glue into the crack and then sand and clean rougen up the toe. After that fit a good quality toe guard. finally put some edge tape around the bottom of the bat.

Arre akhtar bhai there is nothing to worry about!! My CA bat had exact same issue and when I sanded it more the cracks started to get bigger. So don't worry!

As other said put toe guard and it will be fine!

Bhai, if you don't mind me asking then can I ask where are your AS bats?

They will be on their way. I have changed my mind and only want to get 2 bats now and am trying to negotiate with Khalid bhai to give me 2X V3 bats for $140AUD = 11,900 pkr each including shipping to Sydney.

Those bats will be for next season so I am in no rush. I will be using the SS over the winter season if I play in any winter competition in Sydney.

Make sense!

Actually it is a good deal if you get two V3s for Rs. 11,900 a killer deal I would say!

Yes including shipping to Sydney. And yea its V3.

What price do you think I should offer including shipping for 2X V3s?

Actually if you buy V3 from Pakistan it goes for Rs. 6300 and Khalid Bhai is almost charging you double of what its actually worth.

V10 goes for something close Rs. 10,000

So how much are shipping costs by pakistan express post for a bat from sialkot to sydney?

Actually just had it weighed on digital scale today...weighed 2lb 12oz dead weight. But picks up like a 2lb 8oz... I was incredibly shocked when I saw that.
