Wrapped in plastic and transported in an auto rickshaw, the cat went missing from the neighbourhood. Following a complaint by a local woman, police registered a case and began an investigation into the incident.

In a disturbing incident in Bengaluru, a pregnant cat was allegedly kidnapped, wrapped in plastic and transported in an auto rickshaw in a "planned" plot. The incident came to light when the cat, moving through the corridors and rooftops while searching for a safe shelter, suddenly went missing. It comes after a case was registered by Bengaluru police after the cat went missing from the neighbourhood.
After the detailed investigation, it was found that the distressing act was not the work of an outsider, and the residents planned the horrific act, according to a News18 report.

Who Filed The Police Complaint?

A woman living in the neighbourhood filed a complaint with the local police, saying that the pregnant cat got missing from outside her home. The unexpected disappearance of the cat raised concerns among the residents.

Abducted, Wrapped in Plastic

According to the report, some of the residents were frustrated with the cat's presence in the building. The apartment owner, the security manager and other staff members allegedly planned to get rid of the cat from the premises, the FIR stated.

According to the complaint, the pregnant cat was cruelly wrapped in plastic, placed inside a basket and shifted into an auto rickshaw to an undisclosed location.
Following the complaint by one of the residents, the police registered a case under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. During questioning, the accused residents offered shocking explanations, explaining their plot to get rid of the cat.

What Residents Said in Justification?

The residents, according to the report, claimed that the cat damaged vehicle seats and frequently entered neighbouring homes in search of milk.
However, the residents later accepted their mistake and agreed to return the cat. They said that they will hand the animal over to an adoption centre to ensure her safety and care.

Woman's Body, Hands And Legs Tied, Found In Blue Drum. "Friend" Drowned Her

The chilling case is from Madhya Pradesh's Dewas district. The victim's family said that she had been missing for three days.

Woman's Body, Hands And Legs Tied, Found In Blue Drum. Friend Drowned Her

The accused Monu, alias Manoj Chauhan, went to the police and surrendered.
After two sensational murders this year, involving the now-infamous blue drum, a similar case has emerged from Madhya Pradesh. A woman's decomposed body, with hands and legs tied and clothed in a Garba dress, was found inside a blue drum at a house in Dewas district. She was drowned inside the drum by a man said to be her friend, allegedly because she was in a relationship with someone else.

22-year-old Lakshita Chaudhary, the victim, was murdered on Monday.

The accused, 35-year-old Monu, alias Manoj Chauhan, went to the police and surrendered. He drowned her in a blue drum inside his house in Vaishali Avenue Colony.

Victim Was Missing For 3 Days

According to Lakshita's family, she had been missing for three days. Lakshita left her house on Monday, saying she was going to college, but never returned.

The family then filed a missing report with the police.

Victim's Body Found Covered With Bedsheet

Panic had spread in the Vaishali Avenue Colony after a foul smell started emanating from Monu's house.

When police reached the house, they found Lakshita's body, covered with a bedsheet, near a blue drum.

Why Was The Victim Murdered?

Monu allegedly told the police that he loved Lakshita but killed her in anger after finding out that she was in a relationship with someone else.

He called Lakshita to his house, tied her hands and legs, drowned her in the drum filled with water, and left her in a room before fleeing.

A Dewas Police official said that the victim's body has been sent to Indore for postmortem and the accused is under interrogation.

The victim's father told the media, "Anyone's daughter can be the victim of such a crime. I hope that the accused faces capital punishment."

Previous Blue Drum Murders

Previous murders involving the blue drum happened in March and August.

In Meerut, a man was allegedly killed by his wife and her lover. They chopped up the man's body into pieces and buried them under wet cement in a drum.

In Rajasthan's Alwar too, a man was killed by his wife and her lover. His body was found on the first floor of a rented house when his landlady, an elderly woman, noticed a foul smell coming from the drum.

Murshidabad Violence: Centre–State Tussle Deepens As NIA Alleges Non-Cooperation By West Bengal Police

The National Investigation Agency has accused the West Bengal Police of non-cooperation in the probe into the Beldanga violence in Murshidabad.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has accused West Bengal police of non-cooperation during the probe of Beldanga violence case in Murshidabad. NIA claims that despite multiple efforts, the case diary wasn’t handed over to the central probe agency by state police authority. NIA also alleges that they could not take 31 arrested accused in their custody due to alleged negligence of state police. However, West Bengal police have denied every allegation raised against them citing legal complication.
Severe violence erupted in Murshidabad’s Beldanga in January after the death of migrant workers in other states. A peaceful protest turned into violent protest later, resulting in arson and vandalism. Several cops and journalists were injured at the protest site. Government and private properties were damaged by the protesters. Railway track and national highway was also blocked for long time.

A public interest litigation was filed before the Kolkata High Court seeking NIA investigation to probe the violence. After an order passed by the Kolkata High Court, the Ministry of Home Affairs directed central terror probe agency NIA to take charge of probe of the violence erupted in Murshidabad’s Beldanga after death of migrant workers in other states.

Complying with the order, a team of the central agency reached Murshidabad, visited the place of occurrence and re-registered the case, which was initially registered by Beldanga Police Station after in incident.

But the conflict escalated between the central probe and the state police authority when the case diary was sought by NIA. NIA source told Times Now, that despite having specific court order, Bengal police did not hand them over the case diary from Beldanga police station so far

NIA also wanted to take 31 arrested accused into their custody for interrogation who are lodging in jail now but not a single prisoner was produced before the court for production. February 5 was the scheduled date for the production of accused but it was seen, the jail super states before the court that he has failed to produce under trial prisoners citing security reasons. The alleged delay and negligence resulted in a pause in the investigation, NIA source told Times Now.
After being failed to produce 31 arrested accused before the court, Berhampur jail superintendent tells court, they were not provided escort and police guards by district police administration to take the prisoners to court. The court has expressed its concern over the allegations raised by central probe agency against the state probe agency.
Following the series of allegations of non-cooperation against West Bengal police, NIA special court in Kolkata has directed the Superintendent of police of Murshidabad to personally submit a report in this regard by the next date of hearing. The court has also directed investigation officer of Beldanga police station to physically appear before the court and explain on why he has failed to comply with the order. He has also been directed to submit a written explanation for his failure. Along with this, the Berhampur jail super has been directed to produce all the prisoners before the court on the next date of hearing fixed on February 12 without failure.

However, Bengal police source has completely denied the allegation of non-cooperation. Police official told Times Now, "When the NIA team took over the charge of investigation, a sudden reshuffling of IPS officers took place in state state and as result, the then police superintendent of Murshidabad was transferred and IPS Dhritiman Sarkar took over the charge as new SP. Due to the reshuffling in district administration, the process got delayed initially, apart from this delay, there was a legal complication behind the fact."

A senior official told Times Now, "Since West Bengal government has already filed a special leave petition before the Supreme Court challenging the NIA probe and the matter is pending before the apex court, therefore it’s being delayed as legal aspects are being discussed with the council. Legal advises are also being discussed since the matter is subjudiced."
"There were no intentions of non-cooperation from their end," a top police source told Times Now.

Honeymoon Murder 2.0: Out On Walk, Man Dies In Hit-And-Run Planned By Wife

Rajasthan's Honeymoon Murder Case: While Ashish died on the spot, Anju was robbed of her gold jewellery and left unconscious on the road.

Sri Ganganagar:
It was a Friday evening. Ashish and Anju, a newlywed couple from Rajasthan, were out on a walk when a vehicle hit them. While Ashish died on the spot, Anju was robbed of her gold jewellery and left unconscious on the road. What appeared to be a case of hit-and-run took a 180-degree turn and gave cops a deja vu as they were reminded of Meghalaya's honeymoon murder, where a woman, Sonam Raghuvanshi, got her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, killed on their honeymoon.

The police investigation has revealed that Anju got Ashish killed by her boyfriend, Sanju, and two others and tried to pass it off as an accident. It is now being called Rajasthan's honeymoon murder.

Evening Of January 30

Amrita Duhan, Superintendent of Police, Sri Ganganagar, said the cops received the information on the night of January 30, at around 9. The police were told that a couple was lying unconscious on the road.

The couple was taken to the Community Health Center (CHC), where the doctors declared Ashish dead.

"We were informed that a man had been hit by an unidentified vehicle, leading to his death. We surveyed the accident site and also called the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team to investigate from the technical point of view," said Duhan.

Anju, 23, told the police that she and her husband had stepped out for an evening walk when an unidentified vehicle hit Ashish and her. She also claimed that she was robbed of the gold jewellery she was wearing.

The police, however, grew suspicious during the investigation as it spotted discrepancies between on-ground reality and Anju's testimony.

Ashish's body had injury marks, and he also appeared to have been strangled, as per the medical report. Anju, on the other hand, seems to have escaped without injuries.

According to the police sources, Anju's phone records also established that she was in regular contact with Sanju, a man who lived close to her house.

Reunion With Ex-Boyfriend

Anju and Ashish married three months ago, but Anju was reportedly unhappy and went back to her hometown soon after. There she reconciled with her ex-boyfriend, Sanju, and the two are said to have planned Ashish's murder during that time.

"Anju had started accompanying Ashish on his post-dinner walks," said Duhan.

On the night of January 30, Anju took Ashish to an isolated road, where the three attackers - Sanju and his accomplices, Rocky, also known as Rohit, and Badal, alias Siddharth - were allegedly hiding in the bushes.

"They attacked him brutally and also strangled him and then tried to pass it off as a road accident," Dhuan added.

Anju gave away her phone and earrings to the accused to make it appear like she had been robbed. After the attack she pretended to be unconscious, but the injury marks on Ashish' body led to the unraveling of the plot.

Police sources say they also got suspicious as Anju kept changing her statement and contradicting the sequence of events.

The police have arrested all four accused.

Similarities With Meghalaya's Honeymoon Murder

Raja Raghuvanshi and his newlywed, Sonam, boarded a flight to Meghalaya for their honeymoon days after their marriage in May. Twelve days later, he was dead, and his body was found in the wilderness of Meghalaya.

Sonam, along with her lover, Raj Kushwaha, a former worker at her family business, planned to kill Raja during the honeymoon and make it look like an accident. Three hired men attacked Raja with machetes near Wei Sawdong Falls while Sonam was there. His body was thrown into a gorge, and the phone was switched off.

Days after the murder, Sonam appeared at a dhaba in Uttar Pradesh's Ghazipur and was taken into custody. Kushwaha and three other hired killers were also arrested.

Man's Body Found In Blue Drum In Rajasthan, Wife And Her Lover Detained

Sunita and the landlord's son, Jitendra, were on the run with her three children since Saturday.

Jaipur:
A woman and her alleged lover were detained on Monday, a day after her husband's rotting body was found in a drum in their rented house in Rajasthan's Khairthal-Tijara. Sunita and the landlord's son, Jitendra, were on the run with her three children since Saturday.

Hansram's body was found stuffed in a blue drum on the rooftop of a house on Sunday. It bore a throat injury inflicted with a sharp weapon and was discovered after the neighbours complained of a foul smell.

The police said that salt had been applied all over the body to speed up decomposition.

Hansram, a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur, lived with his wife and children. He worked at a brick kiln and had been living in a rented rooftop room for almost two months.

He was allegedly addicted to liquor and often drank with Jitendra, the police have said.

Jitendra's wife reportedly died 12 years ago.

The case has revived memories of a 'blue drum' murder case in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut. In March, Muskan Rastogi and her lover, Sahil Shukla, allegedly stabbed her husband, Saurabh Rajput, to death, dismembered his body, and sealed the remains in a blue drum filled with cement.

Meerut 'Blue Drum' Killer Names Newborn Radha, In-Laws Demand DNA Test

The child was born at the Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College on November 24, which also happened to be her husband Saurabh Rajput's birthday.

Meerut (UP):
Muskan, who is in Meerut jail for the gruesome murder of her husband Saurabh Rajput and stuffing his body in a blue drum, has named her newborn daughter Radha even as her in-laws demanded a DNA test of the child, officials said on Wednesday.

The child was born at the Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College on November 24, which also happened to be Saurabh's birthday.

Dr Shagun, head of the hospital's gynaecology department, said Muskan would be sent back to the district jail on Wednesday.

Jail Superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma said the child may stay with the mother in the women's barrack until the age of six. The jail administration will provide clothes, supplementary nutrition and medical facilities for the newborn.

Rahul, Saurabh's brother, said he had earlier sought a DNA test and would now move a fresh plea in the court seeking the same.

He alleged that Muskan, along with her lover Sahil Shukla, murdered Saurabh and hid his body in a blue drum filled with cement.

Rahul also demanded a DNA test on Muskan's elder daughter, saying the Rajput family would take responsibility for both the siblings only it is proven that they were biologically Saurabh's children.

Otherwise, he said, they would keep "no relation" with Muskan or the newborn.

He also alleged that Muskan was "very sharp-minded" and could pose a threat to the children's safety.

Saurabh's mother, Renu Rajput, supported the demand and said the family would accept the newborn only if it is confirmed that she was Saurabh's child.

Responding to allegations that Muskan "planned" the delivery to coincide with Saurabh's birthday, hospital officials said the accusations were baseless.

"The expected date of delivery is only an estimate and only a small percentage of women deliver on a given day," Shagun said, adding that the timing of labour was natural and "it could not have been planned".

Jail officials said Muskan had decided to name the child Krishna if it was a boy.

Saurabh was killed on the night of March 4 at his home in Indiranagar in Meerut.

According to police, Muskan and Sahil drugged Saurabh, stabbed him to death and then severed his body before placing the body parts in a cement-filled blue drum.

The two allegedly fled to Himachal Pradesh after the murder.

Investigators claimed that Muskan had been planning the murder since November 2023 and that Saurabh was killed because he became an obstacle to her relationship with Sahil.

Durga Pandal In UP's Deoria Recreates Meerut Blue Drum Murder Case

Prasad is being distributed through an automatic machine, attracting large crowds eager to witness the display.

A Durga puja pandal in Uttar Pradesh's Deoria district has grabbed attention for its unusual exhibition - that of the gory murder of a Meerut man whose body was dumped in a blue drum. The pandal, set up by Maa Shakti Club on Station Road in Deoria city, displayed the husband's body inside a blue drum, while the wife and her lover were shown standing near it.

Adding to the spectacle, prasad is being distributed through an automatic machine, attracting large crowds eager to witness the display.

Pradeep Kumar Chaurasia, president of Maa Shakti Club, explained the purpose behind this installation. He said the depiction of the blue drum was meant to raise public awareness, highlighting the severe consequences of illicit relationships. It carries a moral message urging people to maintain trust and integrity in their relationships, he said.

What Is The Blue Drum Murder Case?

Earlier this year, in March, Saurabh Rajput, who had returned from London, was allegedly killed by his wife, Muskan Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil Shukla.

Saurabh, married to Muskan in 2016 and living with her and their six-year-old daughter, was last seen on March 4, 2025, the day of the alleged murder.

Muskan sedated Saurabh and called Sahil to their home, where they stabbed him to death. They dismembered his body, sealed it inside a large plastic drum filled with cement and sand, and hid it in their house. Muskan even reportedly went on a vacation with Sahil after the murder.

Saurabh Rajput's daughter kept telling neighbours that her father was in the drum, suggesting that the child may have been aware of the murder.

The crime came to light when Muskan's mother approached the police, saying that her daughter had confessed to them that she had killed Saurabh. Muskan and Sahil were arrested, and they took the police to the drum. The hardened cement inside made it impossible to open the drum, requiring it to be cut open at a mortuary to recover the body.

Chaos Outside Bengaluru Club: Drunk Techie Strips Naked After Being Denied Entry - What Happened Next

A 55-year-old tech professional, Rajesh Anant, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, caused a public disturbance outside the Bangalore Club on Lavelle Road.

Bengaluru: A 55-year-old tech professional allegedly under the influence of alcohol created a major nuisance outside the iconic Bangalore Club on Lavelle Road on Monday afternoon by standing stark naked, blocking a car, and fighting with security personnel and police after being denied entry, report said.
The man, identified as Rajesh Anant, is settled in the United States with his wife and children and was visiting Bengaluru to meet his father, A Anantharaman, a life member of the 158-year-old club. The family stays in an apartment off St Mark’s Road, according to a report by Times of India.

The incident unfolded over three phases within 15 hours, beginning on Sunday evening. Rajesh had gone to the club for dinner with his father but later realised he had forgotten his mobile phone inside the premises.

When he returned to collect the phone on Sunday night, security personnel stopped him at the gate as non-members are not allowed inside unless accompanied by a club member. Rajesh, who was allegedly drunk, got into a heated argument with club officials.

“A little later, he was seen trying to climb the compound. However, he did not scale it,” an investigating officer said.
The situation escalated further on Monday afternoon when Rajesh returned to the club and again shouted at security staff after being stopped. Police were called to the spot. By the time they arrived, Rajesh had taken off all his clothes and was behaving abnormally in public.
The drama turned more serious when Rajesh attempted to block a red car exiting the club. When he refused to move despite being asked, one of the security personnel allegedly hit him on his bare back with a stick.
Rajesh, however, did not step aside. Moments later, the car drove away, knocking him onto the road and causing injuries.
Rajesh, still naked, continued to fight with club staff and later with police personnel. Club officials then contacted his father, who rushed to the scene.
“Police and others forced Rajesh to wear clothes and he was sent back,” a senior police officer said.
Following the incident, Rajesh filed a complaint with Cubbon Park police against the club security guard and the car driver. In his complaint, he admitted that he was intoxicated at the time and had suffered injuries during the scuffle.

Investigation Underway

Separately, a police officer from Cubbon Park police station filed a counter-complaint accusing Rajesh of creating a public nuisance and obstructing police officers on duty, TOI reported.
Meanwhile, the Bangalore Club issued a notice stating that it had suspended Anantharaman’s membership for one month with effect from February 2. The club also barred Rajesh from entering its premises permanently, declaring him “persona non grata” for what it described as “ungentlemanly” behaviour.

CBI Court Sentences 3 Postal Officials In Rs 1.21-Crore Forgery Case

According to the CBI, the court on Wednesday sentenced Vishal Kumar Ahirwar, to five years' rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 39,000.

New Delhi:
A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Jabalpur has convicted and sentenced three officials of the Postal Department in Madhya Pradesh for their role in a corruption case that caused over Rs 1.21 crore loss to the government exchequer, the agency said on Thursday.

According to the CBI, the court on Wednesday sentenced Vishal Kumar Ahirwar, the then Sub Post Master at Bina LSG Sub Post Office, District Sagar, to five years' rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 39,000.

Vishal Kumar Ahirwar's colleagues - Hemant Singh and Ranu Namdeo, both serving as Sub Post Masters at the same branch - were each sentenced to four years' rigorous imprisonment with fines of Rs 7,000 each.

The case was registered by the CBI on November 17, 2022, against Vishal Kumar Ahirwar and others following allegations that between January 1, 2020, and July 5, 2021, the accused officials had misused their positions at the post office.

Investigations revealed that they manipulated several postal savings accounts and issued forged passbooks, thereby embezzling government funds.

"The accused persons caused wrongful loss of Rs 1,21,82,921 to the Government exchequer and corresponding wrongful gain to themselves," the CBI statement said.

After the investigation, a chargesheet was filed on December 29, 2023 before the court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Jabalpur. Following a detailed trial, the court held all three guilty of corruption and allied charges. Officials said the verdict underscores the seriousness with which the judiciary views corruption cases involving custodians of public money.

The CBI has in recent months intensified its crackdown on financial frauds in the postal and banking sectors, which directly affect citizens' savings.

The conviction also highlights the central agency's focus on rooting out systemic corruption in government departments, especially those handling public funds as it leads to suffering to the common man and loss to the government.

'Momo, Massage Worker’: South Delhi Neighbours Harass Northeastern Women With Racial Slurs

Three Arunachal Pradesh women in South Delhi’s Malviya Nagar allege racial abuse, intimidation, and humiliation by neighbours over a flat dispute; FIR registered against couple.

Three women from Arunachal Pradesh were allegedly subjected to racial slurs, humiliation, and intimidation by their neighbours in south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar after a dispute over repair work at their rented flat. The neighbours reportedly used other derogatory terms targeting the northeastern community. The police said an FIR under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) pertaining to outraging a woman’s modesty and promoting enmity on grounds of religion, race, etc., has been registered against two people—Harsh Singh and his wife Ruby Jain.
On February 20, the women had called an electrician to their fourth-floor flat around 3.30 pm to install an air conditioner. Dust and debris from the drilling fell to the floor below, prompting objections from the neighbours. What began as a disagreement over falling debris soon escalated, with the women alleging that the couple hurled abuses and made racial and derogatory remarks. A purported video of the incident has been circulating on social media.

Alleged Racist Abuse Caught on Video

In the purported video, the accused woman can be heard calling the northeastern women "momo" and saying, "Rs 500 mei massage parlour mei kaam karne waali...." She also asked, "Are you sitting here to do business? Have you opened a massage parlour at home?" The accused man is also allegedly heard using derogatory remarks.

The victims confronted the couple in the video. One of the women is heard saying, "Everyone heard what you said about my image. You made false allegations that I drink alcohol. Go check my room if you find any bottles there."

Speaking to PTI Videos, one of the women who is preparing for the UPSC, said, "Instead of talking about the main issue, they started targeting Northeast. They kept saying that northeastern people are illiterate. They even threatened to beat me up."

The FIR was registered at Malviya Nagar police station under BNS sections 79 (word intended to insult a woman’s modesty), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), 3(5) (common intention), and 196 (promoting enmity on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc.) against the couple. No arrests have been made so far. A senior officer said, "No physical injuries were reported. However, the complainants have alleged mental harassment and humiliation."
The women have demanded a formal apology, stating the remarks were targeted at the dignity of the northeastern community. Advocate Reena Rai, representing the women, said, "As neighbours, they should have provided these women, who live far away from home, a sense of security. Instead, they harassed them and made filthy remarks." Advocate Gaurav, representing the couple, said, "The matter is being unnecessarily exaggerated on social media. Thief Tries To Cover CCTV, Gets Caught On Camera In Uttar Pradesh, Video Viral

The victim has urged the authorities to take immediate action and also increase security in the area.

A concerning, yet slightly funny, case was reported in the Sriduttganj police station area of Balrampur district in Uttar Pradesh, where a thief was trying to break into a house on Sunday. He tried to enter, but failed as the doors and windows were properly locked from the inside.

He then hatched another plan. After stealing a ladder from the market, he tried to scale the roof of a residence belonging to a woman identified as Naseem Bano. But before that, he must have thought to conceal his identity by covering the CCTV camera on the roof with a cloth.

But failed, and failed hilariously, revealing his face in the process.

When he couldn't enter despite an extensive search for an entry point, the thief was forced to flee the scene empty-handed - a sigh of relief for Bano, but the incident left her shocked.

The attempted break-in was discovered on Monday morning when Bano found the stolen ladder still propped against her neighbour's terrace. Upon reviewing her security footage, the full extent of the crime was revealed.

Officers from the Sriduttganj Police Station arrived shortly after to collect evidence and have since launched an official enquiry on the basis of the recovered footage.

From a different perspective, the incident looks funny; however, it left the victim in shock. "I live alone at home with my five-year-old daughter. I was terrified when I saw an unfamiliar staircase to the roof this morning," Bano said.

"CCTV footage shows the man tampering with the camera."

She has urged the authorities to take immediate action and also increase security in the area. "My daughter and I are very scared since this incident," she said.

The suspect is still at large

Delhi's Self-Style Godman Lured Women with Strange Money Rituals, Linked to 8 Murders

Delhi Triple Murder: The recent triple murder near the Peeragarhi flyover in Delhi involved the discovery of three bodies in a car, leading investigators to Kamruddin, an alleged serial killer and occult practitioner. He is linked to eight murders, having manipulated female followers with false promises.

Delhi Triple Murder: The triple murder near the Peeragarhi flyover on Sunday (February 8) shocked Delhi. The bodies were found inside a car, and a police investigation led to an occult practitioner, who turned out to be a serial killer. Police found that the self-styled godman, Kamruddin, was allegedly linked to eight murders. Investigators also revealed that he manipulated women followers, claiming that a “jinn” would have sexual relations with them without their knowledge, bringing them financial prosperity. The Delhi Triple Murder case pertains to the deaths of three people - Randhir (76), Shiv Naresh (42), and Laxmi (40) - who were given poison-laced ladoos under the pretense of a ritual promising ‘dhanvarsha’ (financial windfall).
Kamruddin, who ran a so-called tantric centre in Loni and Firozabad, lured the victims to perform a special pooja and demanded Rs 2 lakh in cash. On the day of the murders, he accompanied them in a car, served the poisoned sweets, and fled after they lost consciousness.

CCTV Evidence

Investigators confirmed via CCTV footage that Kamruddin was inside the victims’ car. He left the vehicle about half an hour before authorities received the emergency call. Laxmi had shared the location of Kamruddin’s house with Shiv Naresh, which helped police reach his residence the same night. When police tried to apprehend him, he initially refused to open the gate, claiming his children were unwell, and later allegedly scaled a 17-foot wall in an attempt to escape before being caught.

Eight Murders

Police have collected evidence linking Kamruddin directly to six other murders, while investigations continue for two more cases. In the Peeragarhi triple murder, investigators believe that sulphur-based poison (aluminium phosphide) and sleeping pills were mixed into laddoos and served along with cold drinks. Multiple properties linked to him have also been traced.

Exploitation of Women

Several victims told police that Kamruddin took money from them under the guise of spiritual remedies. He allegedly claimed that a “jinn” would have sexual relations with the women, after which they would receive financial prosperity. During the investigation, police also recovered multiple photographs from Laxmi’s phone showing young women posing with ritualistic items linked to occult practices.

Meerut Rerun: Another Wife-Lover Duo Nabbed After Husband Found Dead In Fields

In a chilling echo of Meerut's infamous blue drum murder case, a woman, Anjali, murdered her husband, Rahul, after he discovered her extramarital affair.

In a chilling reminder of the infamous blue drum murder case, yet another Meerut woman was arrested for the murder of her husband over her extramarital affair.
Anjali was arrested along with her lover from the Agwanpur village, days after her husband was found shot dead in the fields.

Police initially suspected it to be a case of robbery. However, when the police visited Anjali's house for questioning, she was found to be missing. That changed everything, the police said.

"At first, robbery seemed to be the motive. But the missing wife changed everything," an investigating officer said.

The police said that Rahul, the victim, was found with three bullet wounds. His wife, Anjali, a mother of three, had mourned his death, but later eloped with her lover, Ajay, who lived in the same village. Ajay, too, was found missing from his home.
The duo was eventually traced and detained.
Ajay confessed to the killing during interrogation and revealed that Anjali had plotted to murder Rahul after he discovered her extramarital affair.
"Rahul became aware of the illicit relationship, and this made Anjali so upset that she hatched a plan to kill him," Ajay told investigators, as per an NDTV report.
According to the police, Ajay carried out the plan by luring Rahul to the fields and shot him there three times.
The case mirrors the shocking blue drum murder case from Meerut, where Muskan Rastogi and her lover, Sahil Shukla, killed her husband Saurabh Rajput in March this year.
They allegedly chopped his body into four pieces, sealed it in a drum filled with cement, and fled to Himachal Pradesh. Muskan later confessed the crime to her family, who informed police.

Tracked, Attacked, Then Killed: Bengaluru Real Estate Agent Murdered, Found Dead in Tamil Nadu

A Bengaluru Rural realtor was allegedly kidnapped by a gang near the Karnataka–Tamil Nadu border and later murdered, with his body found dumped in Denkanikottai.

A real estate agent from Bengaluru was allegedly kidnapped on Sunday (March 8) evening and later murdered, with his body found dumped near Denkanikottai in Tamil Nadu on Monday morning. The victim, as per a report by Times of India, identified as Gopal, was travelling in his car with his friend Satish when a gang of car-borne miscreants tracked them near Karpur on the Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border between 6.30 pm and 7 pm. According to police, the accused rammed their vehicle into Gopal’s car, forcing it to stop.
The gang then allegedly sprayed a chemical on Satish. As he struggled to see and ran for cover, the attackers dragged Gopal out of the car, bundled him into their vehicle and sped away. Satish alerted police, prompting a search operation. Officers were informed that the kidnappers had driven towards Tamil Nadu through the Denkanikottai route.

Seven special teams were formed to trace the victim and track down the attackers. On Monday morning, Denkanikottai police informed their Anekal counterparts about a body found by the roadside in their jurisdiction. The description matched that of the missing realtor, and officers later confirmed the identity.

Police suspect the kidnappers transported him in a car and later murdered him using sharp weapons. Investigators suspect the involvement of Gopal’s former associate, Mohan Babu, with whom he reportedly had a financial dispute.

Gopal’s wife, Swati, alleged that Mohan had assaulted her husband in the past. “Two years ago, Mohan Babu took my husband to his farmhouse and assaulted him. They are relatives and used to work together earlier. Their business dispute led to this incident. I suspect Mohan is behind the kidnapping,” she said.
Efforts are on to trace Mohan and other suspects.

Wedding Gunfire Kills 15-Year-Old Breadwinner, Family Protests

Police say two possible motives have emerged in the investigation. The first points to celebratory firing gone wrong

Bhopal:
A night meant for music, lights, and celebration turned into a scene of horror in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar when a bullet tore through the chest of a 15-year-old band player during a wedding procession.

The incident occurred late Thursday night near a liquor shop, leaving the city shaken and a grieving family shattered. Vivek was the only son of his family. At just 15, he carried the burden of responsibility on his young shoulders, playing in wedding bands to help run the household.

Late Thursday night in Sagar, that fragile support system was shattered by a single gunshot.

The Soni family's wedding procession was moving to the wedding hall with drums beating and dancers swaying in front. Eyewitnesses say that in the middle of the celebration, a young man in the procession suddenly fired a shot from a pistol. Within seconds, Vivek collapsed, clutching his chest as blood soaked his clothes.

Panic replaced celebration. The sound of the gunshot triggered chaos among the wedding guests.

"Suddenly, there was a loud noise, and Vivek fell," said his friend Khilan Bansal. "At first, we thought it was firecrackers. Then we saw blood, and everyone started screaming."

Vivek was rushed first to a nearby private hospital and then referred to Bundelkhand Medical College (BMC) in a critical condition. Doctors at BMC declared him dead on arrival. According to medical sources, the bullet struck a highly sensitive part of his chest, causing massive internal bleeding.

As news of his death spread, hundreds of relatives and local residents gathered outside the medical college, creating a tense atmosphere. Police had to step in to control the situation. Grief soon turned into anger as the family staged a protest outside the hospital and later near the police station, demanding that a murder case be registered against the accused. Vivek was the only son in his family, and his earnings from playing in the band were crucial for their survival.

Police say two possible motives have emerged in the investigation. The first points to celebratory firing gone wrong. The second suggests that two young men were arguing with band members over playing the Rai dance music, after which one of them allegedly shot Vivek at close range.

Police officer Jaswant Singh Rajput confirmed that one suspect has been detained while another is absconding. Drone footage and CCTV recordings from the area are being examined.

In a temporary measure, the administration provided the bereaved family with Rs 50,000 as assistance. But for a mother and father who lost their only son, no compensation can silence the echo of that gunshot. What began as a wedding celebration ended as a funeral procession. And once again, reckless firing turned festivity into fatality.

Honeymoon Murder Sparks Trend: Professional Probe Into Prospective Brides

Sparked by sensational cases like the honeymoon murder, families are increasingly hiring private detectives to investigate the "character" of prospective brides before marriage

In Madhya Pradesh, where weddings are often celebrated with opulence and tradition, a new trend is quietly taking root, one that blends suspicion and surveillance. Families are increasingly hiring private detectives to investigate the "character" of prospective brides before marriage.

Sparked by sensational cases like the honeymoon murder, detective agencies across the state are witnessing a surge in pre-wedding inquiries - most of them targeted towards young women.

From social media activity and past relationships to behaviour, friend circles, even criminal records - everything is being scrutinized before the wedding rituals begin.

"After the Sonam Raghuvanshi case, we have seen a sharp rise in requests to investigate girls. People want to know about their character, if they have boyfriends, criminal backgrounds... basically, everything," said Rajesh Pandey, who heads a local detective agency.

"We have received 18 such cases recently, and most of them want only this kind of targeted verification," he said.

Previously, investigations of this sort were mostly sought to uncover extra-marital affairs or financial fraud.

But now, agencies say the focus has shifted to deeply personal aspects of a woman's life - college friendships, online behaviour, call records, even the criminal record of ex-boyfriends.

"Earlier, people would hire detectives only in rare cases. Now we are seeing 70 to 80 inquiries every month," said Subhash Chaudhary, Zonal Head of Action Detective Services. "For some families, a detective is now more important than a pandit. Love marriages and online relationships have led to a new fear - no one wants to take a chance anymore," he added.

Detective agencies are even offering structured pre-marriage verification packages, ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 1 lakh.

These include surveillance, digital forensics and background checks. One agency's checklist includes dressing style, voice tone, friends group, daily schedule, and hours spent online.

Behind the surge lies fear-fuelled by crimes where women were accused of killing their husbands post-marriage, like the infamous case of Muskan Rastogi -- who, along with her boyfrien allegedly killed her husband, Saurabh Rajput. Some allegedly did it on their honeymoon -- like Indore-based Sonam Raghuvanshi, who allegedly conspired with her boyfriend to kill husband Raja Raghuvanshi. Others allegedly planned murders and hid bodies in suitcases and drums.

Psychologists are sounding the alarm.

"People are adopting crime-show thinking and applying it to real life. Watching too many crime serials is blurring their perception of trust," said Dr Satyakant Trivedi, a Bhopal-based clinical psychologist. "Marriages are supposed to start with trust. Now they start with doubt," he added.

UP Man Hires Hitmen To Kill Wife, They Fail Twice, Shoot At Her In 3rd Attempt

Harishankar had originally filed a police complaint naming his neighbours as the culprits.

A woman survived after being shot by contract killers hired by none other than her own husband. The reason -- he thought she had an affair with their neighbour. On the evening of January 26, Sanju, also known as Sanjana, was shot in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad while returning from a market on a motorcycle with her husband, Harishankar.

While the attackers intended to kill her, the bullet struck her in the waist, allowing her to narrowly survive what was meant to be a fatal ambush.

Since then, the police have arrested five individuals, including Harishankar, for their roles in the conspiracy. The investigation took a dramatic turn when the police began analysing CCTV footage and evidence, which contradicted the husband's initial statement. Harishankar had originally filed a police complaint naming his neighbour as the culprit, claiming he suspected them of having an illicit relationship with his wife.

However, police confirmed that this was a calculated move to mislead authorities and settle a personal grudge. In reality, Harishankar had orchestrated the entire attack himself, driven by intense jealousy and a desire to "settle the score" by framing the very people he suspected of being involved with his wife.

He gave Rs 50,000 to an individual named Vineet, his brother Arjun, and an associate named Raj to kill his wife. Three of them reportedly conducted reconnaissance twice before the January 26 incident but failed to execute the hit. On their third attempt, they procured a pistol from Vibhor Sharma, a seasoned criminal with 20 prior cases against him. As the couple travelled on the motorcycle, the masked assailants opened fire, hitting Sanju before fleeing the scene. The police have recovered the weapon and live cartridges used in the crime.

A case has been registered against the accused persons, and further investigation is underway.

Hit-and-Run or Murder Plot? How Rajasthan Woman Got Husband Killed Weeks After Wedding

What initially appeared to be a hit-and-run in Rajasthan was revealed as a planned murder. Police said newlywed Anju conspired with her boyfriend and accomplices to kill her husband Ashish during a staged evening walk. He was strangled and assaulted, while the crime was masked as a robbery and accident.

On a regular evening, a newlywed couple in Rajasthan was out for a walk when they met with an accident as a vehicle hit them. The man, Ashish, died on the spot, while his wife, Anju, was robbed of her gold ornaments and left unconscious on the road. The driver of the vehicle left the spot after hitting the couple. However, what looked like a hit-and-run case appeared to be a murder.
The police found out that Anju had Ashish and two others killed by her boyfriend in the accident, according to an NDTV report. The case has reminded the police of Meghalaya's honeymoon murder when Sonam Raghuvanshi got her husband killed on their honeymoon.

How Woman Plotted the Murder of His Husband?

The man, Ashish, got married to Anju just three months ago. However, the woman was unhappy and went back to her hometown soon after her marriage. She then again met with her ex-boyfriend Sanju, and the two planned to kill Ashish, NDTV reported.

"Anju had started accompanying Ashish on his post-dinner walks," Amrita Duhan, Superintendent of Police, Sri Ganganagar, said. The police received the information that a couple was lying unconscious on the road. The couple was then taken to the Community Health Centre, where doctors declared Ashish dead.

"We were informed that a man had been hit by an unidentified vehicle, leading to his death. We surveyed the accident site and also called the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team to investigate from the technical point of view," said Duhan.

Attacked, Strangled

On January 30, the night of the incident, Anju took Ashish to an isolated road where the three attackers Sanju and his accomplices Rocky and Badal, were hiding in the bushes.
"They attacked him brutally and also strangled him and then tried to pass it off as a road accident," Dhuan added. Anju tried to make it appear like a robbery and gave away her phone and earrings to the accused.
After the attack, she tried to look unconscious. Anju told the police that she and her husband had stepped out for an evening walk when an unidentified vehicle hit Ashish and her. She further alleged that she was robbed of her gold jewellery.

What Changed The Case?

The injury marks on Ashish's body led to the suspicion of another angle in the death. Police sources further said that they also got suspicious as Anju kept changing her statement and contradicting the sequence of events.
The police have now arrested all four accused.

Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder Hearing Begins, Victim's Wife Among 5 On Trial

Charges against the five accused were framed on October 28, following which they pleaded not guilty and opted to stand trial.

Trial in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case began on Tuesday with charges formally framed against the five accused, including his wife Sonam Raghuvanshi and her four accomplices.

Raja's brother Vipin Raghuvanshi was summoned to the Additional Deputy Commissioner Judicial Court in Shillong to adduce evidence in the case.

Apart from Sonam, those accused in the murder of the Indore-based businessman during the couple's honeymoon in Meghalaya in May were Raj Kushwaha, Vishal Singh Chauhan, Aakash Singh Rajput, and Anand Kurmi.

Charges against the five accused were framed on October 28, following which they pleaded not guilty and opted to stand trial. The court had earlier taken cognisance of the 790-page chargesheet filed in the case on September 5.

East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem confirmed that the police are preparing to file a second charge sheet in the case, expected by the third week of November, ahead of the original December deadline.

What Had Happened In May

Raja and his wife Sonam arrived in Shillong on May 21, before travelling to Sohra. The couple was reported missing on May 26, prompting a large scale search operation. On June 2, Raja's body was recovered from a deep gorge near Wei Sawdong Falls.

Police stated he had been hacked to death, with two sharp cuts found on his head.

The prosecution claimed that three assailants travelled from Madhya Pradesh to carry out the murder. As per the police account, Vishal Singh Chauhan attacked Raja with a machete, known locally as a ‘dao'. It is alleged that Sonam was present during the assault but fled as her husband began to bleed and scream, only returning after he had died.

Evidence, including a second machete and a white shirt believed to belong to accused Akash Rajput, was also recovered from the gorge where Raja's body was found.

Sonam was later found at a roadside eatery in Uttar Pradesh. All five accused were arrested on June 8 and 9.

The court has charged the accused under Sections 103(1) (murder), 238(a) (disappearance of evidence), and 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

'Such Practice Unacceptable': Madhya Pradesh Court Bans Burning Of Sonam Raghuvanshi Effigy On Dussehra

The court's order came after a petition was filed by Sonam Raghuvanshi's mother Sangeeta Raghuvanshi.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court, on Saturday, ordered a ban on burning the effigies of accused Sonam Raghuvanshi and women from other states on Dussehra in Indore.

An Indore-based social organisation had announced to burn effigies of women, including Sonam Raghuvanshi, who hit national headlines for allegedly getting her husband killed during their honeymoon in Meghalaya.

The court's order came after a petition was filed by Sonam Raghuvanshi's mother Sangeeta Raghuvanshi.

According to official information, Sonam's mother has contended that she has been made an accused in the case, but the matter is being heard in the court in Shillong (Meghalaya).

The court observed that "such practice" won't be acceptable in a democratic process, and prohibited the organisation to burn effigies of the women, who are facing charges of criminal cases in different parts of the country.

Sonam Raghuvanshi's husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, went missing on May 23 during the couple's honeymoon in Meghalaya and his mutilated body was found on June 2 in a deep ravine near a waterfall in the Sohra area (also known as Cherrapunji) of the East Khasi Hills district.

Raja and Sonam went missing from Meghalaya in May, triggering a nationwide search operation.

Eventually, Raja's body was found, and Sonam surrendered before the police in Uttar Pradesh as investigators from Meghalaya nabbed the other accused.

Along with Sonam Raghuvanshi, Meghalaya Police have arrested her alleged boyfriend Raj Kushwaha and his three friends -- Vishal Singh Chauhan, Akash Rajput, and Anand Kurmi.

Sonam Raghuvanshi and several others, including her alleged boyfriend, have been arrested in the case.

An 11-head effigy is being prepared for 'Surpanakha dahan' by city-based organisation 'Paurush' (People Against Unequal Rules Used to Shelter Harassment).

Apart from Sonam Raghuvanshi, the organisation was prepared to burn effigies of 10 other women, who were directly or indirectly involved in killing of their husbands.

Five of such women are from Uttar Pradesh and two others hail from Madhya Pradesh.

Girl's Fingers Cut Off In Karnataka School, Parents Allege Staff Threw Them Away

The girl's mother, Ambhika GH, said that her daughter Chinmayidevi, a Class 1 student, was badly injured while students were lining up for their meal.

Bengaluru:
A six-year-old girl lost two fingers in a tragic accident at a government school in Karnataka's Tumakuru district on February 9. Following the incident, an FIR has been registered against the headmaster, a teacher, a Cluster Resource Person (CRP), and the Block Education Officer (BEO) for negligence and other offences.

According to the FIR filed at the Tumakuru Rural Police Station, the incident took place during the mid-day meal at the Government Model Higher Primary School in Guluru village.

The girl's mother, Ambhika GH, said that her daughter Chinmayidevi, a Class 1 student, was badly injured while students were lining up for their meal. A teacher reportedly called the mother around 2:30 PM, claiming the child had suffered a "minor injury" and asking her to come to the school. However, when the parents arrived, they found their daughter unconscious and bleeding heavily.

The complaint alleges that while the students were in line, someone pushed an iron door from behind. The child's right hand got caught in the door gap, severing two of her fingers.

The parents have accused school authorities, including Headmaster Nagesh and CRP Venkatesh, of gross negligence. They claim no immediate medical help was provided, and the child was kept inside the school until they arrived. The parents allege that when they asked for the severed fingers, school staff told them the digits had been thrown away to avoid "frightening" other children.

The girl was eventually taken to Tumakuru Government Hospital on her father's motorcycle for treatment.

The following day, when a local Gram Panchayat member contacted the Block Education Officer (BEO), Hanumanthappa, to question the school's conduct, he allegedly dismissed the matter and made derogatory caste-based remarks before hanging up.

Based on the complaint, police have registered a case under Sections 125(a), 238, and 190 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, along with Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act. An investigation is currently underway.

MMS recording case: Death penalty for Banda couple who sold 2 lakh+ child abuse videos in 47 countries

In a "rarest of rare" ruling, a UP court has sentenced Ram Bhavan and his wife to death for abusing 33 children and selling 2 lakh+ videos on the dark web.

In a landmark ruling, a special POCSO court in Banda sentenced a suspended junior engineer and his wife to death for the systematic sexual exploitation of 33 children and the sale of abuse material on the dark web.

Describing the case as "rarest of the rare," Additional District and Sessions Judge Pradeep Kumar Mishra ordered that Ram Bhavan and his wife, Durgavati, be "hanged till death" on Friday, February 20. The court noted that the "unparalleled depravity" of the crimes allowed no possibility for reformation.

Ram Bhavan, a junior engineer in the state’s Irrigation Department, and Durgavati ran a predatory network across Banda and Chitrakoot for ten years (2010–2020).

Enticement: The couple lured boys, some as young as three years old, using gifts like mobile phones, chocolates, watches, and access to online video games.

The crimes: Once lured, the children faced aggravated penetrative sexual assault. Investigators found that many victims endured permanent physical injuries and severe psychological trauma, with some reportedly developing a squint due to the abuse.

Commercial exploitation: The acts were documented and turned into a business. The couple allegedly distributed over 2 lakh objectionable videos and photographs to buyers in nearly 47 countries through encrypted platforms and the dark web.

CBI investigation and digital evidence

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) began its investigation in October 2020 after a tip from Interpol.

Arrests: Ram Bhavan was arrested in November 2020, with his wife following a month later. Durgavati faced accusations of threatening survivors' families to sway the trial.

The seizures: During raids, the CBI found ₹8.27 lakh in cash, eight mobile phones, laptops, and storage devices that held 34 explicit videos and nearly 700 photographs of the victims.

International linkages: Forensic analysis of email accounts showed regular contact with foreign nationals for the distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

The verdict: Death penalty and compensation

The court convicted the couple under various sections of the IPC (including Section 377 for unnatural offences), the POCSO Act, and the IT Act.

Hyderabad Delivery Rider Killed in Horror Crash: Zepto Clarifies ‘Not Associated With Us’

Zepto, a quick commerce company, clarified that the delivery rider who died in a road accident in Hyderabad was not affiliated with them and was not delivering for the firm at the time. The incident, which occurred on January 5, raised concerns about the safety of gig workers amid pressures for rapid deliveries.

Hyderabad: Quick commerce firm Zepto on Monday clarified that the delivery rider who died in a tragic road accident in Hyderabad earlier this month was not associated with the company and was not delivering an order for Zepto at the time of the incident. The company’s statement comes after CCTV footage of the crash went viral, sparking fresh outrage over the dangers faced by gig workers and renewed calls to regulate “fast delivery” pressures.
The fatal accident occurred around 5 pm on January 5, with visuals showing a delivery worker falling from his bike before being run over by a bus, killing him on the spot.

The video, widely circulated on social media, again brought focus back to the risks faced by delivery workers in the quick commerce economy, where speed often defines the job. The incident prompted demands for action against unrealistic delivery timelines, with many questioning whether “fast delivery” targets are pushing riders into unsafe road behaviour.

Zepto Gives Statement

In a condolence post on X, Zepto expressed sympathy for the family while distancing itself from the incident. The firm said it had verified that the deceased rider was not part of Zepto’s delivery network.
"We would like to clarify that the individual mentioned was not associated with Zepto, and was not delivering for Zepto at the time of the accident. We are fully cooperating with the Mehdipatnam Police Station and have submitted our findings to rectify the initial misconception," Zepto said.

Zepto also highlighted that its registered delivery partners are covered by insurance, including accident and health coverage. Zepto said all delivery partners are covered under a comprehensive insurance policy, including up to Rs 10 lakh accidental cover and up to Rs 1 lakh health insurance.

However, the company underlined that, "No claim has been made in this case, the individual was not part of our delivery fleet. Our thoughts remain with the family during this difficult time," it said.

Telangana: Rs 12.7 Cr on Paper, Rs 100 Cr in Reality - Shocking Raid Exposes Cops' 'Shadow Empire'

Telangana ACB has booked Mahabubnagar deputy transport commissioner Mood Kishan after raids uncovered assets worth at least Rs 12.7 crore, allegedly amassed far beyond his known income.

The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has booked the deputy transport commissioner of Mahabubnagar district, Mood Kishan, after uncovering assets allegedly far beyond his known sources of income.
Officials as per reports said that the documented value of the seized properties stands at Rs 12.72 crore, but the actual market value could be much higher given the scale of land holdings and commercial investments unearthed during the raids, a report by NDTV stated. The findings have raised eyebrows as an officer of Kishan’s rank draws a gross monthly salary of around Rs 1–1.25 lakh.

Searches conducted at Kishan’s residence and 11 other locations linked to him and his associates revealed a sprawling portfolio of luxury and business assets. Among the major discoveries were a 50 per cent stake in Lahari International Hotel and about 3,000 square yards of premium furniture showroom space in Nizamabad.

Investigators as per NDTV report also found extensive land holdings, including 31 acres of agricultural land in Sangareddy district and another 10 acres of commercial land within Nizamabad municipal limits. In addition, the ACB froze bank deposits worth Rs 1.37 crore, seized more than 1 kg of gold ornaments, and recovered luxury vehicles such as an Innova Crysta and a Honda City.

Residential assets allegedly owned by Kishan include two flats in Ashoka Township, Nizamabad, and a specialised polyhouse facility in Sangareddy.
Officials as per the report said that the case is notable not just for the value of the assets but for the alleged brazenness of their accumulation. The deputy transport commissioner is accused of building a “shadow empire” spanning real estate, hospitality and retail while in active service, in violation of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Kishan has been booked under Sections 13(1)(b) and 13(2) of the amended Act, which deal with possession of disproportionate assets and criminal misconduct by a public servant. The ACB said it is continuing its probe to trace the sources of the assets and dismantle the alleged network behind the accumulation.
The agency also reiterated that the identity of complainants is kept strictly confidential, urging citizens to report bribery demands by public servants through its toll-free helpline 1064 or WhatsApp number 9440446106.

‘Killed Parents, Boyfriend Got Clean Chit’: Telangana Nurse Held for Double Murder Over Inter-Caste Marriage

A Telangana nurse allegedly killed her parents by administering a lethal injection after they opposed her inter-caste marriage. Police arrested her and ruled out any involvement of her boyfriend.

Hyderabad: A 25-year-old woman allegedly killed her parents by administering a lethal injection after they opposed her inter-caste marriage. The incident took place on January 24 in Yacharam village of Vikarabad district in Telangana. At first, the incident was believed to be a suicide case, which was later dismissed with the recovery of a blood-stained syringe from the house, according to media reports. It raised suspicion against the youngest daughter of the deceased, who was a nurse by profession.
The Vikarabad Police said they received information on January 25 about the deaths of N Dasaratham (58) and his wife Lakshmi (54) at their home in Yacharam. During initial investigation, the couple's relatives told the police that Dasaratham had died by suicide after consuming poison and that Lakshmi died soon afterwards due to shock caused by her husband’s death, reported by The Times of India.

'The Blood-Stained Syringe' at Home of

However, police became suspicious when they inspected the house and found a blood-stained syringe. Seeing this, officers treated the case as suspicious and registered an FIR. They then sent both bodies for post-mortem examination to find the exact cause of death.

During the investigation, police questioned the couple’s son and their three daughters. The statement given by the youngest daughter, Surekha, did not appear convincing and raised doubts. When police questioned her further, she allegedly confessed to killing her parents on the night of January 24.
Police said Surekha works as a nurse in a private hospital in Sangareddy district. Without informing hospital authorities, she allegedly stole a drug used to relax muscles during surgical procedures in the operation theatre. Doctors say that even a small overdose of this drug can be deadly.

Took Leave from Office, Visited Parents

According to police, Surekha took leave from work on the day of the incident and travelled to her parents’ home. After having dinner with them, she allegedly injected the drug, claiming it would help them relax. Investigators believe she deliberately gave them a dose strong enough to cause death.
Later, police matched the serial number on the seized medicine with hospital records. They confirmed that the drug came from the same private hospital where Surekha was employed. Dasaratham, the deceased, worked as a farmer.
Police have ruled out the involvement of Surekha’s boyfriend, saying he was not aware of the crime. The accused has been arrested and sent to judicial custody. Further investigation is underway.

VIDEO: 60-Foot Temple Chariot Topples in Tamil Nadu During Mayana Kollai Festival, Many Injured

Tamil Nadu Chariot Collapse: At least seven people were injured in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, when a 60-foot temple chariot collapsed during the Mayana Kollai festival last night.

Tamil Nadu Chariot Collapse: At least seven people were injured in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, when a 60-foot temple chariot collapsed during the Mayana Kollai festival last night (February 16). Thousands of devotees had gathered to enjoy the festivities, but celebrations turned chaotic after the collapse. Police, rescue teams, and locals rushed to assist those caught in the accident. The situation is now under control.
As seen in videos, the remains of the chariot lay scattered across the road, affecting traffic in the area.

Tamil Nadu is currently celebrating Mayana Kollai festival, when they carry out a procession of a grand chariot or palanquin with the idol of the Goddess moves through the streets toward a local graveyard or crematorium. The festival takes place the day after Shivaratri, with varying legends surrounding its origins. Some say it marks Goddess Parvathi’s victory over the asuran sculpted at the graveyard, while others believe it commemorates her saving Lord Shiva from a curse by Goddess Saraswati.

“Food items offered are usually flung towards the goddess as part of the ritual called ‘Kollai,’” said S. Abirami, a local resident. “It is believed that whatever devotees pray for during Mayana Kollai will be fulfilled by the next year’s festival.” Many participants wore masks of the goddess and danced at the festival site, with the Anna Bridge overlooking the area packed with spectators.

Greater Height, Greater Risk

The collapse may have been caused by the sheer weight of the decorated wood and metal, which can cause the central axle to snap or the wheels to buckle, especially if the chariot has not been maintained during the off-season. Due to rising competition, the chariots often reaches heights of 60 to over 100 feet. These structures are often narrow at the base but heavily decorated at the top, making them inherently unstable.

Shinde was arrested by the Borivali Government Railway Police (GRP) within 12 hours after the chilling crime.

The incident took place on Saturday when Shinde stabbed a 32-year-old college lecturer, Alok Kumar Singh, to death following a "minor" dispute while alighting from a moving local train near the Malad Railway Station - in what is a daily flashpoint for many Mumbai residents. The verbal spat soon turned deadly, as Shinde, who lost his cool, brought a sharp knife upon stepping onto the platform and stabbed the professor multiple times in the abdomen.

As Singh collapsed in a pool of blood, the accused vanished into the crowd.

Singh, who was a professor at a prominent college in Vile Parle, was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Immediately after the incident, the GRP registered a murder case and began a hunt for the accused. Five police teams were formed - each consisting of five to six officers. During the investigation, footage from hundreds of CCTV cameras installed on the railway platform, outside the station, and surrounding areas was examined.

Investigation revealed that the accused followed a fixed daily routine - he would catch a train from Malad at 7:18 am to Charni Road and would return at 4:16 pm. Based on this, the cops scanned CCTVs from Andheri, Bandra, Mumbai Central, as well as the Dindoshi and Kurar areas. Officials then found a crucial clue - the accused was spotted in Malad's Triveni Nagar area. Subsequently, local sources were activated and a team was deployed near the Malad auto-rickshaw stand to monitor the accused's daily activities.

Although police suspected the accused might not venture out on a Sunday, surveillance continued. At around 7:40 am, Shinde was seen getting off an auto-rickshaw near Malad station. The team on scene immediately arrested him and took him to the GRP office in Borivali. During interrogation, police showed the accused CCTV - which showed a man fleeing from the foot overbridge after the incident.

Shinde identified himself and confessed to the murder.

During interrogation, Shinde said that he was getting off the train with a sharp instrument resembling a pair of tweezers. He said that he stabbed the professor in anger, but did not anticipate that the injury would be fatal.

According to police sources, Shinde lives with his parents and elder brother in Malad. His father is a heart patient, his mother is a homemaker, and his brother works for a private company. The accused ran a small imitation jewellery shop in Grant Road.
