DD v RR and Mumbai Indians v Kings XI | 12th April, 2015 | IPL 8 | Delhi and Mumbai

Totally get it buddy.

Its so much fun watching Amit Mishra in action. He can reach levels Ashwin can only dream of.

One of the instances I desperately want to be proven wrong and you rubbing my face in it. :))

Hope

1. Mishra ji clicks
2. Rayudu flops
3. We find some lower order hitters
4. Pacers

:)) yeah. On a serious note Hooda can be a great prospect in future, the way he is going.

I don't care who you are but watching Vinay Kumar get butchered on the big stage is delightful. :))

Shreyas Iyer is Tamil sensible-indian-fan. He has good stats, expect him to play for CSK next season :srini

Orbis - Small correction. Ponting also had one slow 45 at 65 SR against SL in finals 1996 but also had tons of single digits and low scores in knockouts.

http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/en...e=results;trophy=12;type=batting;view=innings

This isn't a Ponting vs SRT issue. I rate Ponting a lot and value his WC finals as an iconic knock (something which SRT hasn't done in WC finals). But was talking about your facts.

Absolutely. He is a trundler with attitude. That's the worst combo!!!
Add to that the annoying jump.

I really enjoy watching him and Sir Jadeja get devoured by the opposition. Thankfully that happens often.

I don't know why Pawan suyal is not getting chances in Ranji for Delhi. He is still an amateur T20 bowler, but has an attitude to be a good test/ODI bowler. It is so much frustrating that Gambhir prefer trundlers over him for Delhi, in Ranjis.

Gambhir with all his international knowledge should have backed a proper fast Bowler like Suyal. A left-arm fast bowler who can clock 140+ is such a rare thing in Indian cricket.

He is the best bowler in India by a country mile though. Check his stats in Ranji.
What do I do with stats in ranji? The guy got murdered for 100 runs by Maxwell and Faulkner. He was destroyed on a pace friendly track in a test at Perth.

Here he is getting assaulted by a past-his-best Sehwag. Atrocious bowler who can only bully domestic batters.

I guess that speaks a lot about the batters themselves.

Here's the crazy part.

Even a baby owns Vinay Kumar.

But in domestic tests...recently Vinay Kumar owned Vijay twice who did well in pretty much every country against 1000X better bowlers.

Horrible bowler he is but dunno what happens in domestic tests.

No, that is a reflection on the pitches.

Last 3-4 years, most pitches in Ranji have been absolutely green. And He is a beast on those sort of wickets.

It has ruined the spinners and inflated some swing bowlers stats. There are hardly 1 or 2 bowlers in top 10 wicket takers list now.

Punjab has too many hit and miss players i feel wonder if they were lucky last time!

Shreyas Iyer and Deepak Hooda - Two awesome talents spotted in the IPL yet. Shreyas will soon break into the Indian team.

What facts? Epic chock against Australia in 2003 and Sri Lanka in 2011.

Compared to ponting, 140* in 2003 and 104 in 2011.

You are confusing chock with choke.

Choke is used to describe a loss from a winning position like South Africa choked in 99 WC against Australia.

Chock along with full is used to describe something overflowing like your posts are chock full of thread-derailing, pointless rubbish.

Why is Ravi Shastri commentating? Is it not conflict of intrests since he is associated with national team?

Crazy swing from Sandeep Sharma.. He's bowling at an average of 136 here. Nice!

Jhonson is pumped up, looks like they keep an extra store of agressin reserved for IPL

IPL speed guns are erroneous.

Have been a bit on the higher side always.

But Sandeep has been good everywhere.

Do you think he has a chance to be successful in international level?

He was decent at U19 level. But India will make the same mistake they always do if they play him in international. We have seen this for decades when a medium pacer plays. He may burst onto the scene, but if you expect him to perform in the long run (especially in tests/ODIs), then you haven't learnt from history.

Its not like we have Wasims and Waqars available.

Plus this guy has good domestic stats.

Plus has troubled international players in IPL too.

With Umesh, Aaron, Shami and co...we can have a slot for skilled trundler.

This guy is skilled no doubt but I am not sure how skilled he is on flat tracks. Enforcer - Any idea? These days Ranji is played on friendly tracks that its hard to judge.

Orbis - Bhuvi isn't going anywhere unlike what you suggested in the other thread. He is very much in the scheme of things.

Picked up a wrong time to get injured.

He has to work on his game but he is pure quality (decent according to international standards) and has brains.

I expect him to have a successful career.

He can swing the ball both ways .

I think in helpful conditions he will be very good.

He needs to work hard, otherwise will meet same fate as Irfan & Praveen kumar

Big changes for MI in next season...
Till when they would stick with Raydu,Tare,Ojha..

Joke is Raydu is permanent memeber of Indian team....

In helpful condition, he is pretty good.

In domestic, he averages 22 with 49 SR.

Its his performance in flat tracks that would determine whether he could be successful in international level.

Ranji doesn't have many flat tracks (many are pacer friendly) hence I am skeptical.

Irfan Pathan swung it more, was quicker, and at the same stage (45 ODIs had 73 wickets), plus Irfan Pathan could bat better.

B. Kumar pretty much averages a wicket per game which is expected from a part-timer/all-rounder. He burst on the scene and before the Aus series he still had his swing, but you get worked out quickly in international cricket. And if you are a medium pacer you get worked out even more quick.

Pray that he flops in IPL and gets silently dropped.

How he made it to the national side is a mystery.

Guys I have had to delete a lot of posts which have nothing to do with the topic. This is a match thread. Stick to the topic!

Who denied all that?

Point is that we can only choose from our options.

We also have guys like Umesh and Aaron who after 5 surgeries didn't lose his speed.

So...can't make generalizations. Its possible and likely that our trundlers will fade but its also possible for them to stick. We can only pick from our options.

Right now our list is:

1. Shami
2. Umesh
3. Aaron
4. Ishant
5. Mohit
6. Bhuvi

Need a few good pacers to put together a decent attack if some get injured or go out of form.

True.

Has lost a lot of wicket taking ability.

The difference between him and others is that he has brains.

Him and Ashwin are the only 2 current Indian bowlers who have brains.

Axar may have it but dunno as of now.

No he is no where that good in flat track. I have seen him bowling around 115-120 ks in Ranjis against Gujrat.

The only talent which impressed me this year is shardul Thakur. Good with new ball, can reverse it, and more importantly can bat.
He was among the highest wicket takers this season.

Does he play for any IPL team?

Playing XI?

India's international series is against Bangladesh after IPL..

And I am sure he will make into that squad In which many of the seniors will be rested.

It's not about personnel. However good the players are, the guys in charge are dinosaurs who don't understand T20. Why does Punter look surprised? If you're not going to try and score runs even when RRR is over 10, of course this will happen.
