Dehli [196/4] beat Bangalore [137/9] by 59 runs in Match 19 of IPL 2020

Your expectation has to be managed going forward, as I told you in other thread - he'll be 32, come 05 NOV, may be 1-2 years hidden in it as well and the guy is married now - you'll never see the Kohli of 2018 T20 WC against Aussies. Still, a world class batsman till he retires, but peak Kohli almost certainly could have matched peak SRT, if not better in ODI/T20.

In 2023 WC at home - IND is heading towards the same situation of 2019 - officially Kohli 34, Sharma 36, Dhawan 37, Shami 31 :), Jadeja 34 ...... - they can't be dropped (unless retires voluntarily), can't be expected to deliver like in their 20s.

In Asia we need to add 2 - 3 years at least to the official age.

I'm not worried about 2023. At home we start with half a match already won in a long tournament with tired pitches under sun.

I'm worried about test team. We underperformed when lot of players were in prime and as you said, kaptaan and pujara are almost over, then what? We don't currently have ready replacement of similar level.

Kohli needs to up sticks and leave this franchise for pastures new, it's gotten stale and desultory. Unless, of course, he feels that franchise cricket is meaningless in the grand scheme of things. He won't be wrong if so.

RCB heading towards a big defeat , this will hurt there run rate in the final standings.

very good selections by DC. Two proper fast bowlers, a great off-spinner and a decent left arm off spinner

4 Indian international batsmen and 2 useful overseas big hitters. Excellent selection model

They got the best balancing team along with MI

I doubt things will change by moving to a different franchise. He is a poor tactician in this format and it was clearly visible today.

Maybe he won't become a better tactician, but a change of scenery could relieve some of the pressure on him. He has been stifled with this team for a few years now, and that goes both ways. Something is clearly broken and a complete break might benefit both parties.

Watching little Prithivi reminded me of watching Master Blaster. I want to see him in the Indian team soon. Him and Samson. Delhi spews with talent.

We have plenty

Shaw
Iyer
Gill
Jaiswal

Are all very young. They will only keep getting better and replace the oldies seamlessly.

There is also Rahul and Mayank in their primes.

Dhawan and Jadeja will not play in 2023 World Cup for sure. Rohit and Kohli will and rest will be youngsters.

Rohit
Shaw/Gill
Kohli
Iyer
Rahul
Sanju/Pant
Pandya
Saini
Spinner( Bishnoi or Kuldeep or Axar)
Chahal
Bumrah

We have enough replacements coming to make up for oldies going into World Cup 2023.

Dare I say this will potentially look even stronger than now. It is downright scary.

Event though Shami is supposedly 29 I still feel he is got it in him to play till 2023. He is a phenomenal player and is a great athlete.

Yeah, he should play till 2023 World Cup. It will depend on his form, he will not be 40 that he can't play. Enough options there, add Agarwal in mix also.

Add Agarwal?? Add. Lol. He is a must in all formats regardless. He is a beast.

While I know they have good potential to succeed. It doesn't make it a given. In fact most talented olyers never step up. Its the nature of high level sport. You get at most 2-3 test class batters a decade. I fear we don't know who those are for third decade of this century.
