Dexter (TV Series) : Discussion Thread

And for the first time ever there's a loose end Dexter can do nothing to eliminate it.

Quite a possibility but not entirely sure, I loved the ending of last episode though. Title of the episode matched with the ending nicely

I thought it was quite obvious...

And this season is much better than last years snooze fest.

Isaak was getting too freakin' dangerous. I hope he gets out of jail and begins his war vs Dexter.

Deb is confused IMO. She doesnt know whether she wants to kill Dex or kiss him :))

This season is really good so far..with so many factors that seem like they will connect to make an epic season finale..but the walking dead has really overshadowed this show. Yet, another good episode thou, but not as exciting as last weeks.

I hope Isaak comes out soon and owns. The actor Ray Stevenson deserves an Emmy. Smart, Ruthless, Charming. All the factors come out without overacting.

Lol even a sociopathic killer like Dexter falls prey to Hannah the hottie's charms :))

I tell you that girl is going to be the ruin of him...

not that interesting at the moment, lets see what is in store.

Predicion time :
This new chick is gonna turn out to be a female version of dexter . She'll turn out to be a serial killer who kills bad people/serial killers .

If that happens, then it will be a new low for the show. I don't like it. Lumen teaming up with Dexter and disappearing was cringeworthy enough.

Guys' we've implimented a "Spoiler" button. Please use that when discussing any events that have not occurred yet in the TV show.

It feels like everything is bilding up to have some shockers towards the finale. Todays episode wasnt all that special but the build up just seems great!

Deliciously ironic ending to this episode.
Deb wants Dex to kill. Dex himself doesn't!

Anyone notice how genuinely shaken Isaak was when
Dex lovingly told him the details of how he killed Viktor.
.

Guys, I don't think putting spoilers is necessary if the "spoiler" has already been aired on TV. If you haven't watched the episode yet, you shouldn't be checking this thread, simple. The spoiler tool should be used for info that hasn't been aired yet and is a "spoiler."

hear hear !

Dex vs Isaak scenes are great. Both want to kill each other and the way they play mind games with each other is tight.

Ray Stevenson deserves an Emmy. A vicious villain but still with flashes of humanity. Justice will be served if he wins both an Emmy and a golden globe.

LOL no.

Boring episode. No longer interested in whats going to happen.

I am talking about the whole season. Especially, the episode where he is talking to Dexter in the bar and the scene where he is quietly menacing to the stripper who is dating Quinn.

dexter just keeps on getting better. the only time deb assigns dexter with a hit, he can't do it :)) i'm loving this combo :afridi

Last episode was soap opera.

It's become too much of a melodrama with Dexter becoming more of a moody, emotional, and reckless character rather than the cold, calculating, and uncaring killer he was in previous seasons. But, the writers have set up a lot of exciting and potentially deadly plot threads, so I'm still eager to see how they'll tie them together with the end of this season and the subsequent final season.

I think this season is poor...its interest lies in that its the final season...last season was terrible and the incest angle was a part of that...hoped they would leave that out...

Its also ridiculous that a man so careful would be so openly shagging a serial killer and risking his career...realism has never been a strong point of the show but it gets more and more ridiculous the further along this show gets...the ease at which Quinn removed evidence too was far too contrived as was the original airport murder itself...

Hes also become a character easy to dislike...the fact that hes broken his code and given in to having a serial killer as his missus makes one root against him...I hope he gets caught out by Laguerta...

I watch Dexter cos its on and I want to see its conclusion...bit like the end of Prison Break...Homeland is easily the more superior Sunday night show...

I don't think the recent episode was boring. May be many people are interested in more action. But Ever since I started watching this show, I always thought that the way Dexter targets his prey and the way he kills was never a major interest for this show. For me it was how he manages to not get caught and deal with other normal people around him. I thought that was the main drama of the show. Because if it was the 'action', then they would have shown more action scenes. But From first episode to this recent one, majority of it is just how Dexter deals with other normal people. How he managed to not get caught!

And ever since Debra found out about Dexter, it was always going to be more drama than pure action.

I think this recent episode was very imp. for up coming plot. Debra told Dexter how she feels about him for the first time! I think that was epic ending. Also, lots of tension is rising and it will lead to epic Season Finale.

1) Isaak's end is near! Now question is how will he get killed? Will even get killed? Who will Kill him? Dexter or surprise ... surprise Quinn!?!?

2) How will Quinn end his problem? Will he go to jail after getting caught? or Will he have to sacrifice his life for Stripper?

3) Laguerta is closing in on Dexter! Will she reach Dexter? How will Dexter eliminate LaGuerta? Will Debra help her?

4) Will Dexter Kill Hannah McKay? What will make Dexter Kill Hannah?

5) How will Dexter and Debra interact with each other after Debra told him she loves him?

So, I will say it's building up to nice season finale!

You don't have to use the spoiler tag for an episode that already aired.

Oh ok GC. Here it is then.

Debra's a weirdo.

Isaak was a boss until he let his gay side come out.

This!

I haven't said Dexter's boring...its still fun watching but its heavily declined...

If this show didn't already make one suspend belief the latest episode was even more ridiculous...Dexter takes out two apparently outstanding hitmen within a day...one he did at a public place...

More suspension of belief...Quinn casually beats George to a pulp and walks out with Nadia without a single security guard intervening...

Ukrainian mobsters have been shown to be so ridiculously incompetent...

That said the good of the show have been the scenes with Isaak...albeit a very corney scene at the end...the angle of Dexter finally living because he can be himself with Hanna is a decent one although I don't think she was feeling his soppiness at the end...

What bothers me the most about this season is generally the characters were somewhat principled...now Dexter and Deb have shown they have none whatsoever...love conquers all seems to be the basic message when we drop in Quinn too...who thought LaGuerta would be one of the good guys lol...

Btw am I the only one who finds Lauren Velez attractive?...shes hit 48 this year and not many women that age that look as good as she does...she looked great in Oz...

Damn I felt sorry about Isaak. Dude got way too much character development in the last two episodes. He still is evil but really odd level of sympathy for him.

JIM BEAVER TIME!!!! Bobby Singer from Supernatural out to hunt serial killers now I guess. :108:

Not sure what happened to this season.

I was really into it and was expecting an epic battle between Isaak and Dexter.

They turn him soft, kill him off, and now replace him with this lame fire character.

This season is becoming more and more ugh.

Interesting character development with Dexter and his self-confession on his "dark passenger" though.

Epic  on jim beaver being killed off in just 1 episode.

He was totally Bobby Singer when he said "You got the devil in you boy" :))

Damn I think Hannah manipulated Dex to kill her father. Hannah=Lila v2.0 new and improved.

Did you watch Season 6? Forgot Dexter's head painted over the multi-headed demon? I lolled so hard during that scene.

This season has been MUCH better than Season 6 and slightly better than Season 5. Isaak was such a charismatic badass villain.

This season is awful...

Dexter discovering a serial killer in one episode...

Quinn killing George was ridiculous too...

They tried to make Hannah into a sympathetic character which failed miserably...she had daddy issues as a child...oh poor Hannah...

I agree that the interesting part is Dex agreeing that his dark passenger is a creation...and the fact that Laguerta is moving in...

Wonder what contrived and ridiculous plot device they will use next week...

Season 5 was appalling not just by Dexter standards but overall...

This season's 2nd best villain easily has been:

dexter-jack3d-ray_speltzer.jpg

Way too good a villain to last for 2 episodes only.

Fun TV but another ridiculous episode...

I can't get over the fact that there is no problem with Dexter openly dating a serial killer...

But then apparently there was no conflict of interest when Quinn was linking a stripper either...glad she did a runner on him...

The way he and Debra managed to reframe Dokes in such a short period of time is ludicrous...

The only bit I genuinely liked about the episode was Laguerta catching Dexter out but what was ridiculous even with that is how the cops didnt intervene when there was a gunshot...they waited for Laguerta and waited for Dexter to get away before they did anything...its pathetic frankly...

I presume the twist regarding Hannah will be that somehow she didnt actually poison Debra...what doesn't make any sense is why he let her get caught by Debra...if ever there was a loose end then Hannah is it...surely she was worthy of being on his table again?...

This show makes The Expendables look realistic...

That was a nice twist that I didn't see coming. But yes, about 5 minutes of excitement in a 60 minute show.

Dexter is getting beyond sloppy. Damn I am missing Isaak. Somebody raise him from the dead please!

+1. It is thrilling but the producers have been way too sloppy with planning the series out evenly. Now they crammed so much in to that last episode.

Considering its the 2nd last episode of the season, gotta love how:

- The fire villain was completely absent from this episode.
- Evidence was stolen by Quinn from the police station yet everything is all hunky dory.
- I agree on Hannah being framed by Deb. All of Hannah's past kills were all done by using plant derived poison. I dont think Hanna would kill by overdosing on anxiety pills.

I saw in the preview

that Doakes will be back in the next episode. How is that possible?

Use the Spoiler Button!

@Gotham Cronie: People talk openly in the Homeland thread, and they seem to be talking openly in this thread too. It's not like they didn't show that bit at the end of the last episode.

Not everyone watches the previews. As already discussed earlier in the thread, please use the spoiler button if you want to discuss anything that hasn't aired yet.

The spoiler bit was borderline fair, because I don't see anyone else's spoiler posts being editing.

If you show me a post in this thread after we've implemented the Spoiler feature that discusses content not aired yet, I'll discuss with that member as well.

From what I can see, there aren't any.

The post above mine, and the one quoted in that as well. C'mon dude.

calm down guys...

if anybody is so worried about spoilers..........they'd better Not come in the thread

Both those posts are discussing episodes that already aired.

Not everyone may have seen it, in the same way that not everyone may have seen the preview at the end of an episode (which is in fact part of the episode that has already aired). They contain spoilers for people who have not seen it. That is the definition of a spoiler.

We had already agreed earlier on in this thread to only use spoilers for content that hasn't been aired yet.

The preview for the next episode airs after the conclusion of the current episode. Some people, like me, prefer to not watch it to avoid any spoilers.

Bhai, it's my humble request to use spoiler tags for any content from an episode yet to be aired. Apologies if I came across the wrong away.

I agree with Gotham Cronie...if I see the preview I shut it off...I have no interest in knowing what the storyline might be next week...

Utterly mindblowing season finale!!! Irreversible changes taking place. What a bang of an ending!

Utterly mindblowing season finale!!! Irreversible changes taking place. What a bang of an ending!

Really?...I thought it was a huge disappointment...I watched it after watching Homeland which didn't help cos Homeland is actually a good show...

It was so obvious that Deb would shoot Laguerta...I was just watching thinking...'just shoot her!'...no tension there whatsoever...Laguertas acting in particular was shoddy all episode...she gave the most pitiful interrogation I have ever seen...

Again Dexter is able to frame everyone with ease...and again Laguerta's police work is shoddy...she went all alone to meet Estrada...realism right there...

Also the story hook about Dexter's pragmatism related murders was awful...Laguerta is hardly new ground...hell Doakes was exactly the same...

I would rather not talk about the ease and implausibility of Hannah's escape...another contrived bit of nonsense...

The only bits I liked were the flashbacks to Dokes and Dexter...reminded me of a time when this show was actually good and not the trash that its descended to in the last couple of seasons...

Sick finale! Was really a cliffhanger in parts...sets up well for the next season.Cant wait for the next season.

I don't see how the finale was a cliffhanger, it was obvious who Deb was going to shoot, the fact that there is going to be an 8th series kind of gave that away

Similar to how 24 used to announce they were going to have additional series and you know Jack Bauer would always make it

The thing is even Deb is effectively a villain now. Dex has begun his decent to moral irredeemability. Was willing to kill an honest and ultimately innocent(she was manipulative and jerk yes. But not a killer). So he effectively is no better than the killers he supposedly considers himself superior too.

Twice the writers gave us hope for an interesting turn of events (when Dexter gets arrested and when Deb's involvement is discovered).

Both times, it lasted for 5 seconds before both problems were solved.

those dissing Dexter...

why don't u go create a better one, or stop watching:moyo

season 1 and 2 were the best..

other seasons were good, some great episodes in between...

come on Dex, keep them seasons coming

The finale was very uncomfortable to watch. Had me on the edge of my seat.

Regardless of how they cover up LaGuerta's death, I think it is fair to say the show wont have a happy ending.
