England (465 & 373/5) cruise to a comfortable 5-wicket win over India (471 & 364) in the opening Test of the series

One of our worst bowling attacks ever since 2014. Actually the worst.

Bumrah needs rest for 2 games. He shouldn’t even bowl anymore. Disgusting.

I guess this is how Hadlee felt but I am sure even he had better support than these frauds

Siraj is ok for support. But still change him

Prasidh was terrible. Is terrible in flat conditions it seems.

Arshdeep and Rana in next game thanks. Maybe akashdeep for bumrah to give him rest.

Get yudhvir Singh in if possible by niggling someone out

Get Kambhoj he can atleast bat better.

He already plays one day so capable of bowling at least 10 in a day.

If he bowls even 10 then he's likely to pick at least 1-2 wickets given his style of bowling.

And we know he's way better batter than Thakur
 
If there is someone who should take on Bumrah tomorrow then it should be Brook or Jamie Smith....low expectations from Jamie. As I said earlier England will be missing Bairstow here

Rana bowls with discipline and Arshdeep feels tailor-made for these conditions.

Prasidh is just overhyped. He bowled really poorly in South Africa too.

The one thing that kept him in the team was his ability to take wickets at home. But ever since wickets in England got flatter he has looked completely toothless. Time to put him out to pasture.
 
Indian fielding was really poor. You won't be winning too many matches with that kind of sloppiness in the field
 
The gap between Bumrah and the second-best Indian bowler is massive. He's at least a hundred times better. :murali
 
Bumrah is just way ahead of any other Indian bowler in the playing 11... he is too good.

Yeah, no bumrah would reault in draws or losses. That's how bad the bowling lineup is atm.

Solid batting lineup though

Batting seems to be all about Gill, Jaiswal, Rahul, and Pant.

Rest collapsed badly. I think they may collapse more due to inexperience.

Only Gill, Jaiswal and Pant. Rahul os an avg opener and this was a flat track against a medicore bowling lineup.

Bumrah will likely get injured by the 4th or 5th test or rested.

2 games are won by england. Question is if they can win the ones where Bumrah is present or not.

Yeah.

Even Pant, Gill, and Jaiswal would probably struggle in testing conditions. This pitch is flat; so, it is easier to bat.

It depends on how testing the conditon is BTW. Their are layers to it.

Doctored pitches are impossible for anyone to play even if your sachin, Smith, Lara etc etc.

On Seaming pitches sena batters thrive more while Asian batter tend to perform better on spinning pitches.

Their are exceptions of course, Steve Smith is much better at playing spin then pace etc etc

You saw how jaddu who is old now and Shardul batted?

We need new players to replace them too.

Funnily enough they bowled better when sun was out compared to overcast lmao

Smith is goat everywhere let’s be honest

Only truly great bowlers can get him in conditions that favour bowlers like bumrah Rabada.
Ashwin on spin ultra turning pitches
Anderson only on extremely cloudy overcast swinging seaming tracks in England and that too with a huge struggle

I think pant has the best technique to survive on any pitch but yes any batsman can struggle on seaming or turning tracks

Jaiswal has issues vs swing in swing friendly conditions but is good vs bounce and pace

Slightly struggles vs left arm spin on turners

I would say Steve is 50/50 spin and Pace on challenging conditions...

You are right he is good with LOI side not tests.

However, Rana is pretty erratic too. We should hope Arshdeep comes good otherwise the pace attack is not going anywhere with Bumrah not likely to be available always.

I have called him a fraud since day 1 of my arrival. I am always right. Indians would learn alot by listening to me but people have an ego.
 
Jadeja has bowled really well, should have got a wicket there if Pant took the catch. He bowled better than specialist spinner, Bashir who was playing in his home conditions.
