Jadeja is all rounder and an ATG level in Asia. This is England, he is still good as all rounder and better than Bashir as spinner. Don’t forget he is A/R and not just a spinner. One of the greats of the game. :inti

Brooks is a monster test player. His issue is spin,but he's easily the best pace player in the world atm.

Have said this multiple times. Juat a god at playing pace.

One can say he's as good of a batter v pace on flatter wickets as he is as bad against spin on a turner.

Yes and No, he's struggled against spin even on wickets that aren't turner's.

Even today he's been comfortable vs jadeja due to the comditons but he hasnt mauled or attacked him.

Yesterday he onpy struggled vs Bumrah but as soon as he got set, Bumrah hasnt troubled him at all. And everyone else like siraj is getting mauled.

Brooks is another typical english player. Will have okayish test career not a great one.

He is as bad vs spin as saud is vs pace.

Yes. For starters this is literally his 2nd test century at home. The rest are overseas. He's already humbled someone like Ab and 90% of test batters in history with that metric.

Infact he's humbled Williamson who was stat padding at home.

Secondly this will be his 9th test century in 26 test games at an avg of close to 60. That is phenomenol and blows pant put of the water.

Only contention is jaiswal since hes an opener and obviously different metric applies to openers in test.

Someone who scores (Sadly 8 got out of 99), with all of em being overseas except for 1 in england with an avg close to 60 is a typical English player?

Pant has more memorable match winning knocks than anyone out there rn.

First 20 30 tests are by no means any metric. The avg will go down when he plays more in sa, wi, ind, aus.

Pant has 3 centuries in england. 1 in sa. 1 in aus. That is masterclass.

He is phenomenal test cricketer and will go down as the next gilly.

He has better record in sena than ponting had in ind uae pak srl.

We know the pitched he got in pakistan. He had good series in nz. He isnt bad player
But at this moment he hasnt achieved more than pant.

The thing is englands bowling is actually very mediocre but india isn't far behind too.

Jadeja needs to up his game and he can make a difference in second inning.

England made a big blunder which was not to bat first after winning the toss. They could've potentially made 500+ and then have a crack at India.

Even now they've not done bad it'll all come down to how they go about with the ball in the 2nd inns as Stokes was their best bowler hands down.

Years from now, people will view no of runs, no of centuries, and avg + overseas performance.

Pant will have a different metric due to being a keeper however thats the metric they will view him on.

When it comes to clutch knocks, they are all situational based. Sachin has less impact knocks then Laxman, infact significantly less bit that doesnt mean he is inferior as a test batter.

The ball will turn more in the 4th inns and it'll test England either way.

Gambhir must be asked why was Shardul played in the XI if he can’t support the 4 main bowlers in the team. 6 overs of bowling when 100 overs is bowled is absurd for a bowling all rounder.

He disnt have a good series in NZ, he had an excellent series in NZ lol.

Avg of 75 and sr of 100, 3 test centuries in 5 games isnt just good. This performance is > Any indian/Pakistani/Australian/SA or any other country player performance in recent times.

He outperformed Williamson in his own den
 
India’s shameless low order and tail ender batsmen must watch how England is able to make every partnership count down to the end. It’s the same with Australia.

Our jokers bundle out within a matter of 20-30 runs on average which is beyond disgraceful.

Only once in a blue moon does our tail ever contribute and usually we are winning such matches too. It’s often the difference maker

If brook wins england ashes in austrailia or series in india then yes he is better than pant otherwise no he is typical english batter. Bairstow had such purple patch too

Bairstow never had a so called Purple Patch in regards to brook. He had a purple patch yes but it was never on par with Brooks.

Secondly It hasnt been a purple patch, its been his entire test career.

As for winning ashes, the reason thats unfair is cause one man cant win anything even in test cricket. Steve Smith has been a solo.operator In test cricket before but even he had 3 bowlers helping him.

Bumrah couldnt do a damn thing even Aus won 3-1 and would have beaten india 4-1 if rain did not intervene.

The metric should be if he performs in Australia or not. Aus will likely win due to England's crapola bowling.

Sometimes team can only bring a match so close and you do need individual brilliance to win it. Kusal did it against sa. Stokes against aus. But leave it if brook outbats everyone then surely he deserves the praise and he is surely capable of it.

Pujara in bgt18 was best performance from ind or pak. And for me it was higher than this.

You want him to Outbat the likes of Steve smith, Travis, Labu, Carey, Konstas, Khawaja when theyve been batting on said pitches their entire lives?

Did Pant and Jaiswal achieve such a metric? Jaiswal was the 2nd highest scorer in BGT not 1st, only head avg 50+, and even then it was inflates due to his first innings wonder house.

Otherwise its obvious Steve Smith was the best batter in that series. He flunked 1st and 2nd test which is why the metric is swekewed but his 3rd and 4th knock was >>>>>> Any other performance in the series.

He was scoring runs for fun while no one could avg more then 40 in thise 2 games.

Pujara is a no show now, and BGT 18 is a different story. Everyone knows aus 2018 was the weakest Australian test team of all time.

That test team was bloody pathetic and it could have been Pak's best opportunity to break the streak but unfortunately sarfi was an even worse test captain at the time.
